"What?" I responded, trying to break out of the man's hold on my head.
"You're friend Dustin killed my brother," the man growled, swiping his black hair out of his face.
"Y-your brother?" I stuttered, frantically scanning my memories. When had Dustin...?
Realization hit me hard. That time at Damian's house when those vampires attacked about two weeks ago, the vampire with messy black hair that had tried to bite me, Dustin had shot him. Now that I thought about it, this man and that vampire did resemble each other. And both had the yellow, black-specked eyes. I swallowed as I stared in horror at the man.
"I see you remember now," he smirked.
"No, I don't know what you are talking about," I lied, my mind racing to find a way I could get out of this mess.
"Ah, ah," the man said, shaking his head. "It's no use lying. I was there that night too."
"Then why didn't you help your brother?" I demanded.
I cursed myself right after. I had just admitted Dustin had killed this guy's brother.
The man grinned. "You're so gullible."
I swallowed and stared at the man. "What do you want?"
The man raised an eyebrow. "Gullible and stupid?"
I scowled. "What?"
He put his head next to mine and whispered in my hear, "I told you already. Revenge."
The hand that was on my face slid to my neck and wrapped around it, squeezing slightly. As an automatic response, both my hands shot up to pull his hand away from me. The man chuckled as I fruitlessly tugged at his arm.
"You should know vampire's have the advantage," he told me, squeezing my neck tighter.
Now my airway was being constricted and I could hardly breathe. I gasped, struggling to get away from the vampire. He just smirked and just as I was about to pass out, let my neck go.
I grabbed my neck and gasped, trying to breathe. After a few seconds, my breathing returned to normal, but I began to cough. The vampire grabbed the front of my apron and straightened me out.
"This is just the beginning," he told me, his breath caressing my cheek.
I swallowed, standing as still as I could. The vampire pulled away and grinned at me and I could see his fangs glistening in his mouth. I covered my neck with my hands and he laughed.
"I'm not going to drink you're blood."
"Like I'll trust you."
"I'm not here to change you," he responded, rolling his eyes. "I only want my revenge, and I'll be happy."
"What are you going to do to Dustin?" I demanded.
The dark haired vampire shrugged. "I'm not quite sure what I want to do to Dustin... I may just kill him-"
"No!"
"-Or maybe I'll torture him half to death? I could drain his blood too," he continued, ignoring my comments of disapproval.
"Don't touch Dustin," I threatened him. "I'll-"
"What can a human do?" the vampire asked, grabbing my arms and pinning them above my head. "I'll tell you what, nothing. For instance, right now I could drink you're blood," he ran his fangs lightly over my neck, "and you couldn't stop me."
I shuddered and tried to pull away. He was right; I couldn't stop him. He must have been twenty times stronger than me.
He pulled his head away and let my arms go. I pulled them to myself and crossed them over my chest. I had to get away from this guy. I subtly looked around. He was standing directly in front of me, which it where the only door was. I sighed inwardly; this room was horrible for escape plans.
"So," he started, looking oddly calm, "I'll have greater plans for revenge on Dustin, but since you were only the cause, you get away with a simple punishment."
I stared at him confused. A sudden intense, agonizing pain shot through my left forearm and I screamed in pain, grabbing my left wrist with my right hand. I sunk to my knees as tears sprung to my eyes and panted as my wrist throbbed painfully. It had to be broken.
"However I still have other plans, and I suggest you don't ruin them if you don't want your cute human friends and brother to end up six feet in the ground," the vampire warned me, ignoring my obvious discomfort.
"I..." I clenched my teeth, trying to control the pain in my arm. "W-what are you going to do?"
"You'll see," the dark haired man grinned, patting me on my head. "If I were you, I'd get that wrist checked out. I hate hurting girls, but I loved to hear your scream."
"Bastard," I growled, watching as he stood up and walked to the exit.
"Actually, I go by Reilly," he responded. He paused for a moment and shrugged "But I guess you can call me that."
With once last wave, the vampire named Reilly disappeared. I staggered to my feet, holding my arm. The pain was making me dizzy. I walked over to the backroom door and looked into the lobby. It was empty, no trace of Reilly, and no damage done to the place.
My head was throbbing as I went to pick the keys up off the floor. As I bent down, my newly broken wrist bumped the wooden table to the left of me. Hard. I tensed up in pain and the room spun fast. Within seconds everything turned black.

It was hot. I opened my eyes and couldn't see anything. I panicked for a few seconds until I realized I was just under my bed covers. But when had I gotten home, let alone left work? I struggled with the blankets for a second before flinging them off of me. My left arm hit the wall.
"Ow!" I screamed, pulling my arm close to me. It hit me hard and I looked down to see in encased in a cast.
"What's wrong?"
I jumped violently, turning my head to the right, coming face to face with Damian.
"Why are you in my house? How come I'm in my house? Where's-" I paused, cutting myself off.
Reilly's threat ran through my head. There was no way I could mention him.
Damian half-smiled. "First, there had to be someone to watch over you. Second, I brought you home because you seemed to have fainted at work..."
We both looked down at my arm. He frowned slightly at me when I raised my eyes back to his.
"Somehow you managed to break your wrist as you fell... but it looks as if someone did it on purpose..."
I forced a laugh. "What are you talking about? I was there alone all night!"
Damian's look hardened. "I know."
"He flipped when he couldn't find you at your house when he came over to check on you," a new voice commented in an amused tone.
I looked over to see Ayden sitting at my computer desk, lazily leaning against it. "When did you get here?"
"Just now," he responded with a shrug.
"Why didn't you tell me you had work tonight?" Damian asked seriously, dragging my attention back to him. "I told you I couldn't let you stay by yourself now."
"I know," I sighed.
And I had learned the consequences, but I couldn't tell him that.
"I'm sorry. I got a call from Emmett that he needed someone to take over his shift, and I said I'd go, but I didn't want to run the plans you said you had so I didn't tell you."
Damian's gaze softened as he reached for my good hand that wasn't half covered with cast. I let him grab it, a smile spreading onto my face. Damian could always make me feel happy, even after what happened today.
"What's this?" he held up Will's note. "You never mentioned that Will was going away."
"I swear I was going to tell you about that!" I explained, grabbing the note from him. "I was going to go over Dustin's tonight and have him spend the rest of the time here and-"
Damian chuckled. "Why Dustin? Why can't I stay?"
I stared at him blankly. He began to frown.
"Well it's okay if you don't want me to stay here, I understand but I think it'd be safer if it was I who stayed."
"Oh, no, no! That's not it!" I denied, shaking my head furiously. "It'd be great if you stayed! I was just surprised."
I was glad Damian was so mature. If I had told Dustin I was going to be staying with Damian, Dustin would have had a fit and a half. But Damian was calm, he didn't even care that I was going to stay at a boy's house, even though he was my boyfriend. It was a good thing too, because I didn't like the jealous type.
"I'm sorry to ruin you two love bird's fun, but I think it'd be best if Maddie just stayed with us for the next few days," Ayden suggested from his spot on the other side of the room. He gave me a hard look.
I stared at him for a few seconds confused. And then I remembered he could read minds. I froze, sucking in air too quickly. I began to choke and I coughed.
"Maddie? What's wrong?" Damian asked worriedly, putting a hand to my back.
"Nothing!" I told him, in-between coughs. "I just choked on air."
He relaxed and chuckled again. I returned my attention to Ayden who was smirking. He knew what happened to me. Please don't tell Damian, I swear it was nothing big, I begged him, feeling like an idiot for talking to him inside my head.
Ayden raised his eyebrows and shrugged at me. I scowled, narrowing my eyes as a threat. Ayden grinned back, obviously trying not to laugh. I gave him a meaningful look and he sighed. As long as I explained to him what happened later, he had to keep it a secret.
Damian looked back and forth between his brother and myself. "What are you two doing?"
"Nothing," I responded quickly. "Ayden's right, I should probably stay at your house... for more protection..."
Ayden snorted and both Damian and myself gave him a quizzical look.
"Oh come on. You are talking about a girl sleeping at a guy's house and you say the word protection. How is that not amusing?"
I rolled my eyes. "You're older then us, you should be more mature."
"Anyways, the quicker we get out of here, the better," Ayden said, looking out the window.
He shot me a quick look and immediately I thought the worse. Reilly, I tried my best not to think anything more about him, might still be after me.
"I'll pack now."

One more thing... recently I've been obsessed with a show called Ghost Hunt. I started reading it about a week ago, and read all of it in two days. So I started watching the show. And watched the show in two days because it's only 25 episodes T_T and now I'm reading the novels to figure out the ending because I want to know. Have any of you guys seen it? I could really use someone to rant about it to~
