Chapter 31-"It's no fun if we just let him know that easily."
Kiara Knight's POV
"What if dad won't agree?" I can't stop myself from asking that. We are both in his car driving to my house. After talking with Oliver, Alex and I both got on his private plane to get here. The plane ride was filled with tension. Alex assured me tens and tens of times, but my mind won't listen to me. I know dad is going to explode. I am even frightened about how mom will react.
"Then we can elope like your grandparents." I smile at his reply. "See. There is the smile that I like." His hand is over my shoulder. I leaned my head on his shoulder. I am sitting as close to him as possible and he pulled me into his lap. Now my head is resting on his chest. His warmth reducing my tension a bit. He wrapped his arms around me tightly, yet comfortably. "Don't worry. He will agree."
"How can you be so cool about this?" I cannot help but ask him. He took a few seconds to answer.
"I only get tensed when I do something wrong. Which I never do as you know. We are in love Kiara. I know I am much older than you. But that's not a crime and no one can stop me from loving you. I am not tensed about Zack agreeing us. He will one day surely." He kissed the crown of my head. "No one can take you away from me. I will turn the world upside down. Know that." I smile widely and nod.
The car stopped and I know we have reached. I move out of Alex's lap ad settle beside me closely. The security near the gate saw us and quickly open the gate to allow us in. The car went in and stopped in front of our house entrance. I huff and Alex smiled at me.
"All will be fine. I am here." He said and got down. He came to my side and opened the door for me. I came out and he closed the door. He didn't move to go inside. I stare at him. "I love you." I smile. Hearing those three words brought me the courage to fight for us.
"I love you too." I respond back. He kissed my forehead.
"Let's go in. Everyone must be waiting." He took my hand and entwined his fingers with mine. We ascended the stairs at the entrance to go in. My heart is beating fast. I hold his hands tighter. He did the same to assure me. I look at him to try and find my confidence.
We both go in to the living room. As expected, everyone is here. Even Alex's parents. William and Anthony are not here though. Maybe be they are busy. What shocked me to the core is even Hades is here. My big brother. At least he might save me. A small hope rose in my chest. I look around the room and all my brothers are here. Mom and dad are sitting on the sofa and mom is trying to calm dad down.
I notice there is another person in the room whom I have never met before. She is standing in the corner watching us all. She has blond hair and is dressed in jeans and a dark grey t-shirt. Who is she? Why is she here? They all look up once we came in. Everyone is just silent. That's it? Nothing? No anger? No shouting? Just silence?
Ace and dad shared a look. Dad looked away as if he is not convinced with something. Mom caressed dad's hand and he let out a breathe as if trying to relax himself. I feel like I have done some international crime and we are here to justify ourselves.
"Zack." I heard mom call dad slowly. He shook his head. He is not even looking at me. He must be sorry angry if he is this silent. I look at Hades. He has a neutral expression on his face. He smiled then and came to hug me. He opened his arms wide and I left Alex's hand to reach him.
"I missed you, K!" I jump in his arms and pull away after a minute.
"I missed you too. You didn't call me this week!" I accuse and pout. I want to ease the temperature in the room.
"Sorry. I was busy." He apologized. I smile at him. I saw Alex moving to dad and he sat on the chair beside dad. He as always looks confident. I hold on to Hades tightly. He assured me with his eyes. He leaned down to whisper in my ear. "I approve of you two." I look at him in shock. He approves? So easily? What is happening?! I thought there is going to be a huge war here!
"Really?" I still can't believe he agreed so easily.
"Yes." I cannot help but grin. My big brother approves. Goal! Oliver came from the other side and stood beside me to lean in and whisper.
"Ace and Cara came an hour ago. Dad was so angry. They explained everything to dad. Dad hasn't spoken a word since you he came to know about two. He did shout at first, but he didn't say anything after that." That worried me a bit. Not a bit, more than that.
"Zack. I know there is huge age difference, but-" Before Alex can speak dad cut him off.
"I don't want to listen!" Dad said angrily and stood up.
"Dad!" I move away from Hade and Oliver to go to dad.
"She is just twenty-one years old! How can she..." He trailed off. "She is not in love. She is just attracted to you. You are elder than her. At least you should have told her, instead of falling in love with her!" Tears clouded my vision.
"Dad, I love him. I am not just attracted to him!"
"Stop it, Kiara! I do not want to listen to anything anymore!"
There was a minute of silence. No one spoke. I look at dad and find him with an angry expression on his face. Alex has a determined look on his face. He walked towards me and put his arm around me. I can see that Alex is getting angry, but he is trying to remain calm.
"Zack." Dad looked up once he called him. "I love Kiara." He confessed. Everyone is shocked to hear his open statement. Even though it's not something they don't know, his confession shocked us all. "She is my addiction." He said looking down at me and I smile at him through my tears. "I promised her I will not make her cry. I can't bear to see it." He wiped away a tear that fell on cheek. "If loving you is sin. I will keep doing it." He looked up at dad.
"I know whatever I say will not make you change your mind. If I want to I can take her away right now with me. But she loves you all. Also we are engaged." He announced and everyone gasped.
"What?" "When did that happen?" Everyone spoke except dad, Ace and Hades. Ace is sitting there calmly as if he knew this would happen. Hades is smiling.
"I don't see a ring." Mom said coming to me smiling. I smile back at her.
"He proposed yesterday. It was unexpected for both of us." I share the details and mom hugged me.
"I am so happy for you both." I am so happy mom approved us both.
"Well, looks like I am needed here anymore then." Dad said angrily and left the room to go to his and mom's room. He went in and shut the door angrily.
Everyone sighed. The tension in the room was thick.
"Baby, you okay?" We hear and turn around to see Hades talking to the girl that I have seen earlier. She nodded her head and he led her upstairs. Is she his girlfriend?
"She is Hades girlfriend." Mom said. "Let's go in. You know how your dad is. Don't worry." She turned me around to led me upstairs. I stop and look at Alex. He is staring at me. He came forward to kiss my forehead.
"Go in. Everything will be alright." He assured.
I smile at him and walk in. All my brothers followed me to my room to know the story.
Three days Later
It's has been three days and dad is still not talking to me. Mom tried to convince dad in all ways. She even threatened dad that she will not speak to him if he will not talk with me. That did scare dad a bit. He just spoke few words and nothing more. Mom glares at dad whenever he did that and he shrugs it off like a child.
I heard that Alex went to dad's office to talk to him about us. Hades said that Alex spoke for about three hours today morning. I don't know what. I called Alex and he didn't say anything about what he talked with dad.
It is almost ten in the night now. I came out to the garden in the back and walk around. I find dad sitting in the garden alone on the bench. He looks deep in thought. I sigh. I should talk with him today. I will make him talk to me. I walk over to him and he looked up at me. He is sitting at the corner of the bench. I sighed when he looked away and sat beside him. He sometimes really does behave like a child.
"Dad." I call him as I put my hand on his shoulder to make him turn and look at me.
He didn't respond.
"Dad!" I call him loudly.
No response. I stood up and go to stand in front of him. He turned his head the other way.
"Are you really not going to talk with me?!" I feel frustrated now. He looked up and then shook his head. "I can't believe you are being the child here!"
Again, no response. I sigh and sit down beside him. The weight of the three days now hitting me. I have hurt dad a lot by hiding everything from him. No wonder he is angry. I feel tears in my eyes. My throat clogged as I stopped myself from crying more.
"If you are that angry, just scold me." I am sure he can hear the shake in my voice. "Please don't stop talking with me." He turns around and look at me. He can see the tears falling from my eyes. Before I know it, I am in his arms. He is rocking me to stop my crying.
"Shh, Princess. No crying." He said putting his hand on my head. I break down in his arms. That's the emotion he showed on me after three days, I can't help it.
"Dad. I am sorry I didn't tell you about us." I cry and he soothed me. After I took my time crying, we both sat calmly for a few minutes. "I am sorry daddy." He didn't say anything for a minute.
"Alex came to talk with me this morning." I nod my head at his words.
"I know. Hades told me." Another minute of silence. "Dad, why don't you like Alex for me? You said he is the type of man you would want for me." I can't help but ask him. He spoke after a second.
"Princess, he is type of man I would want for you, but he is very elder compared to you."
"But, dad, age doesn't-"
"Anyone you say you are going to marry, I will not like that person Kiara." He said cutting me off. I smile. Of course I know that. "it scares me that a man is taking away my Princess. I don't know how he will treat you."
"It's Alex dad. You know Alex."
"I am your father. I don't care who the other man is. Even though I might trust him more than myself, I can't trust him with my daughter. Who ever it might be. I want my daughter to be happy. I want to give the best to her. As a father, I will think about it." I look up at him.
"Dad." Of course he will think about it.
"But after talking with Alex today, I know he is the perfect man for you. He is the man I would want my daughter to marry." My eyes grow wide. I jump in excitement. I squeal in happiness and hug him tightly. He laughed at my excitement.
"Thank you, Daddy!"
"Welcome Princess."
"Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" I kiss his cheek in happiness. "You are the best!"
"Neat in the sense better than Alex?" He asked teasingly.
"Of course!"
We both laugh.
"Does Alex know that you agreed us both?" I ask.
"He still doesn't. It's no fun if we just let him know that easily. Right?"
I laugh loudly.
