I stood in front of my house, hesitating to go inside, but I inhale deeply and walk forward. The door creaks as it opens and I walk in to see my step dad passed out on the couch, drool streaming down his chin and into a nearly empty beer bottle. I hurry upstairs, throwing my bag down and laying on my bed. I pull out the crumbled piece of paper in my pocket that has a number on it and is signed, "Jack ;)".
I smile at it, and pull out my phone.
Finn: hey babe
Jack: who tf is this and why are you texting my friend
I furrow my brows and frown, typing back again.
Finn: why do you have jack's phone?
Jack: why are you calling him babe?
Jack: oh my god
Finn: what?
Jack: this better not be who I think it is
Jack: I swear I will beat you up it's you
Finn: you couldn't beat me up
Jack: Christ
Jack: I can tell it's you just by that reply
Finn: dude what
Finn: you don't know who I am
Jack: lemme guess...Wolfhard?
Finn: How the hell
Jack: just stop texting jack
Finn: um
Finn: I only will if jack himself tells me to
Jack: ok fine
Jack: he will
Finn: and you think that why lol
Jack: because he deserves better
Finn: excuse you?
Jack: he doesn't want you
Finn: didn't seem that way when he kissed me today
Jack: I'm going to actually kill you
Jack: don't touch him
Finn: try to stop me
