The memories won't seem to fade, I don't think they'll ever really go away.
They burn in the back of my mind like a branding iron.
But that was a different time.
We were both so young, too eager to find love.
Everything you seemed to do, all seemed too good to be true.
Our love was a ticking bomb, a grenade waiting to blow.
I remember everything about you all the things that seemed to make life okay.
Those same things now taint my memory of you, making it clear to see.
That what we had was never meant to be.
