King sighed closing his phone, Paris had been talking his ears off about how she wanted him to meet her family before she graduate, so that it don't be awkward at her graduation
He was staring into space wondering if he was ready to meet her family
The door to his office opened and Kai'jai walked in and sat down
" you good?" King questioned seeing he was aggravated
" nah. Janiyah ass getting on my nerves. All she been doing lately is nagging and on her phone 24/7 but when I talk to some hoe she get mad"
King stared at Kai'jai and seen that he was really affected by what Janiyah do
But who could blame him, he had invested his whole time on their relationship. She had him on a leash and now she was dogging him like she didn't need him.
" yeah. Everyone been waiting for you to talk about what happened over Christmas, and why you ain't stick up for her?"
He scoffed. " I had told her from the beginning that about y'all I don't play around, she mess with y'all, then she mess with me. And that's how it's gon be"
" That's forever how it's gon' be family over everything" King said. Even though by part they wasn't related by blood, they all was family.
" I'm about to say fuck this relationship and go fuck some other bitch. It ain't like her ass gon' care"
King shook his head "nah. How about you talk to her"
Both king and Kai'jai scrunch up their face up
" what the fuck did I just say?" King ask.
" Boy!! Y'all be talking bout me and Carter pussy whip but look at you. relationship man" he said patting king's back laughing
King tried to stay serious but he started cracking up too " aww man. I ain't never thought I'll be in a serious relationship for 5 months"
" just to let you know we all doubted you, we even made a bet on it Davonte lost to 2 weeks," he laughed shrugging
King shook his head. " y'all niggas was praying on the downfall of my relationship"
" yeah. Your ass made us lose $1,200"
King burst out in laughters " that's good"
" yeah. I was gon ask you if you seen ghost. I want him to follow up on Janiyah for me"
King face scrunch up then he look towards KJ " you gon have him follow her around? What you tryna find out if she fucking with another nigga?"
Kj nods his head. " yeah. She been MIA lately and that shit don't settle right with me"
King nodded.
" Aight. Ghost was here few minutes ago, he gave me this file"
Kj reached out his hand and grabbed the file king handed him
" whats this?"
" Two more names to take out before I fully get my revenge"
KJ quickly looks over the file seeing the addresses " Aye. This nigga owns an apartment complex down from oaks"he points out the address
King chuckled smirking " I'ma swing by there later and see if I could rent one out"
KJ shook his head " nah. That's too obvious"
" how? I walk up in there and act like I'm interested in his business and get him to talk and walk out."
The plan sounded simple in Kings head but KJ was doubting it, he didn't think it was a good idea to show up as a new potential buyer in the building.
" if you planning to get information out of this nigga it's not going to simple, this nigga gon know your face, and your name"
King sighed " Aight. So You gon go with me?"
kJ shrugged
" I ain't got none better to do. Let's go"

" so you said you needed an apartment?" The young women asked typing away on her computer
" yeah" king nodded
" around this time these apartments be filled" she answered without even looking up at them
" so you saying you don't got no rooms left?"
" yes but the apartment across the streets have available ro-"
" Im straight. Is there any way we Can speak with your manager regarding this?" king asked her, getting impatient
She abruptly stop typing and look up with wide eyes
" not really, he's in a meeting right now comeback an hour or so"
kJ was caught off guard at her beauty she had wild curly hair, big brown eyes and tiny freckles around her face
king didn't care how fine she looked she was acting like she couldn't talk to her boss
" look here I want you to pick that phone up and call your boss and tell him to bring his ass out here, or else" King threatened.
He ran out of patience when she told him to come back in an hour knowing the office hours would be closed by then
" I can't do that sir" she whispered getting ready to press the red help button under her desk
" Alright." King nodded stepping back from her desk letting kaijai take over
kJ stood up from the other chair and walked over to her
" I'm sorry about my older brother, he sort of have a temper but I couldn't help but overheard that these apartments are full, it's a shame cause We really need an apartment for our little sister." Kj spoke smoothly catching her attention
" she just got over her abusive ex and wanted a place she can feel secured. so We told her that these apartments have high tech security and that it was the safest in this community, I just want to protect her so if there's anyway possible that she can find an empty apartment here please tell me what I have to do, it don't have to be a big apartment"
Her big brown eyes stared at kJ analyzing his facial expression, even though her boss only allowed certain people, she couldn't turn him down Because she knew how it felt to be abuse by someone you love
" uh I'll look to see what I can do for y'all" she told kJ after giving King a sympathetic look
"If anything I know this nice meeting where women who's been abuse can attend" she suggested typing something on the computer
kJ nodded his head and took the paper she gave him with the number of the group
" thank you ?" He looked at her name tag for her name but didn't no how to pronounce it
" Analia" She answered
" beautiful name, I'm Kai'jai" he smiled back
Before she could say something back her the door behind her opened and a tall dark-skin man came out with a file in his hands and his suitcase
" Analia, what I told you about flirting with the men that comes around here" He sternly said to her
" I wasn't, these two men are looking for an apartment for their sister and wanted to speak with the manager"
The men look towards king and kJ and walked towards them
" Xavier steel, son of the manager. How can I help y'all"
He extended his hand to king
King stared for seconds and shook them back holding eye contact
" Elijah Morales"
" Kai'jai Washington"
Xavier nodded stepping back behind the desk and started typing in the computer
" we have one apartment left, it's on the last level in the south wing, would y'all like to see it"
" yeah" king answered

" have we met before?" Xavier questioned
King look so familiar to him that it bothered him that he couldn't point where he knew him from
" nah, I don't think so"
King shrugged looking at Kaijai
" so you owned these apartments?" Kai'jai spoke
Xavier scoffed
" no, my father does,"
Silence felled between them
" are y'all planning on taking the room for y'all sister ?"
" yeah. It's perfect for her" King answered
Then his phone started ringing
" hold up ima go take this" he left stepping out the room
" wassup baby?"
" Are you Alright? I called you like 3 times already"
King had seen her calls he just wanted to avoid having to talk about her family
" my bad, I'm in the middle of a meeting and my phone was on do not disturb"
" it's alright. I was just calling to make sure you was okay, your phone kept going to voicemail"
" I'm straight. Ima call you when I get out the meeting"
King hanged up and walk back in the room stopping Kaijai and Xavier conversation
" you alright?" Kj ask
" yeah, Paris called on" King said
Xavier watched king face closely stuck on the fact that he looked so familiar
Then it was like a light switch on in his head and he sighed in excitement causing king and kaijai to look his way
" I know who you remind me of" he laughed at king expression
" who?"
" my late uncle. May he Rest In Peace" he spoke doing the cross sign on his chest
" we all look like somebody to someone " King shrugged his shoulders
Xavier laugh " nah, you look like a splitting image of him, you didn't say your last name was morales did you?"
King just stared at him wondering if he really knew his father " yeah but-"
" Elijah right? We used to be around each other when I used to live in the hood, our fathers grew up together"
kJ and king both stared at each other in questioning
King didn't know who the man was and had no intention on giving him no information about his self
" Nah-"
King grind his teeth together, he was aggravated cause Xavier cut him off twice
" you don't remember me? You and everybody from the hood used to call me X ?"
" oh shit! X that used to live down the block from my grandma crib?" King recalled now
Xavier nodded furiously
" one and only but listen I got to go, you tryna catch up like old times?" Xavier ask staring at his vibrating timer off his phone
" yeah" King shook his head nodding

On the way back to the trap king thought about a lot of things but what was on his mind the most was his father and Xavier father friendship, they had a bond like they were brothers
why would ghost lead him to Xavier? What did he know that he didn't
When he got in his office he sat down rolling up a blunt then light it up
blowing out the puff while he waited for ghost to enter his office
" yeah, boss"
King sat up and ushered for ghost to take a seat
" what you know about these two?" He questioned laying down two photos, one of Xavier and the other one Gerald his father homie
Ghost stared at the pictures then up at king shaking his head " never seen them"
" your address led me to them, you must know"
One of Ghost legs started shaking up in down from nervousness.
In the heat of his investigation he stumble upon some information that could cost people Around King their lives
"boss, with no disrespect, I feel like you should just walk away "
" fuck you just said" King glared at ghost in anger
Ghost sighed shaking his head " I ain't mean to get you rile up, matter fact you could fire me after this and I'll still mean what I said boss you need to walk away now cause you're not going to like the outcome of it"
" what do you know that I don't?" King ask he felt like he's been going around in a circle like a merry go around and he wanted to get stop
" if you go through with it your going to put people around you in danger"
King scoffed the people around him were already in danger, he just wanted to know who killed his father and uncle
" Give me a name"
Ghost sighed taking his bag and dropped a small envelope on King's desk
" Aaron Buford"
King stared at the package then back at Ghost " what about him?"
" That's who killed your father and uncle"
King grabbed the envelope and opened it
Seeing pictures of his father and his uncle and then a picture of him with them on the day it happened
" he had y'all followed. Now boss this man is very powerful, he could-"
" I don't give a fuck who he is, I need an address for him," King gripped the photos in his hands
Ghost shook his head he disagree because he knew the outcome of it but he couldn't stop King from releasing his wrath against the men who made his family cry
He was going to do what anyone would do in this situation and support his boss, maybe it won't even have that outcome after all.

Paris waited patiently for King to park his white Mercedes Benz in her mom's driveway
She was nervous, her heart was racing and her palm felt a little sweaty.
A lot of thoughts and scenarios swarm her head
What if he don't get along with her dad, khadarius or Rashad?
She doubt that her mom would have a problem with King because they have already met through Jasmine doctors appointment and she was the one hyping her up to go out with him.
Paris watched a handsomely dressed king in all white designers walk towards her
A involuntarily smile made it way on her face, she look down at her phone seeing it was 6:57
" your early" Paris voiced out her thoughts tiptoeing while he bend down kissing her on the lips
" yeah. I ain't wanna be late, they here yet?"
" yes, my mom is setting up the table" Paris slowly look over at his facial-expression trying to read him
King nodded looking her over, she was looking real good in those jeans she was wearing he thought
" you look good" he wrapped his arms around her waist looking down at her
" thank you" Paris blushed at the way he was looking at her
After few moments of being in each other's arm they stepped inside the house
The commotion of the plates being set on the table mix with people talking and laughing made Paris feel at home
" Paris!" Her mom exclaimed motioning for her to come to her
While Paris and her mom talk king phone rang and he turned around taking the call
" 54337 drive 31st. The house pass word is 3287" ghost spoke urgently
" Aight. I'll hit you up later and see what we gon do"
King hanged up and turned around seeing Paris and her mom looking his way
He smiled politely and walk over to greet her
" Ms.Johnson! How you doing?"
Her mom raised and eyebrows steeping back
" Elijah, Morales. I should of known my mother instinct were right"
Paris and king laugh When thy heard footsteps come from their back and in walk khadarius and Dashawn
" Paris finally wanna introduce people to her nigg-" khadarius stop mid way taking a good look at the back of king
This nigga look familiar he thought
"Wait.," he stopped talking and look at King and Paris in confusion then it clicked in his head
His mouth drop he never thought his sister would ever go for someone who's living in the fast life especially after all the time he told her to stay away from these type of boys.
" this ain't the nigga you've been cheesing hard over?" he asked containing his anger while still sizing king up
He knew who king was from hearing about him in the streets and he wanted his baby sister to have no part in his life or the fast life.
