Riley Matthews had recently had a baby girl, Stella with her husband of 3 years, Mr Farkle Minkus. They had been living in Greenwich Village New York, along with her best friend Maya Hunter and her husband Mr Lucas Friar. The 2 of them also had a 11 month old baby girl, Elle.
About a month into motherhood, Riley had found herself struggling to keep up with having a baby and working. Riley had no other choice but to turn to the best mother she knew and ask for help.
So on this particular Tuesday morning, Riley had found herself on the doorstep of the now Ms Maya Friar.
Riley knocked on the door nervously waiting for Maya to open up
When the door opened it revealed a short blonde in a pair of leggings and a tank top with a bouncing baby on her hip
"Oh hey Riles what brings you hear so early in the morning" she smiled overjoyed that she was able to see her best friend
"Maya I'm so sorry I showed up so unannounced, but I really need your help"
"Whats wrong" Maya asked and Stella who was also with Riley started crying
"That's whats wrong" Riley said on the verge of tears
"Oh honey it's okay" Maya said as she quickly grabbed Stella and started cradling her
"Lucas" May yelled and Lucas came rushing in, in a pair of guy shorts and no shirt
"Yeah baby watch you need" he smiled "Oh hey Riles"
"Hey Lucas"
"Baby, will you please take Elle" Maya asked sweetly
"No problem" he smiled at his wife, grabbing his daughter from her
"Riles why don't you come in and take a load off" Maya said guiding Riley into the house "I'll be right back"
"Thank you" she sighed
Maya walked upstairs to where Lucas was putting Elle to sleep
"Hey baby" she whispered
"Hey" he said slowly rocking Elle
Maya and Lucas stood their in the middle of their baby girls bedroom rocking 2 little girls
Maya quietly started to sing to the girls
You are my sunshine, my only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are grey
You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
Both girls had instantly fell asleep at the sound of Maya's soothing voice
While all of this was happening, Riley watched in awe from the door at the couple handling the little girls
"Hey Maya"Lucas asked as the two still stood their with the kids
"Yes hun" she asked not taking her eyes off the kids
"Would you maybe, want another kid"
"I would love to have another kid with you"
"Really" he smiled looking up
"Yeah, I've always had a dream of being with the love of my life and having a big ol family"
"That's awesome, I love you Maya"
"I love you too"
They laid the two girls in Elle's bed and walked out hand in hand to living room where Riley was sitting
"How do you do it" Riley said as soon as they walked in
"Do what?" Maya asked
"Be the perfect couple"
"We are not the perfect couple"
"Yes you are, you are both fantastic at your jobs, you work out together everyday, you have a beautiful baby girl, both of you have the ability to take care of another human being with out struggle yo-"she got cut off
"With out any struggle, Riley the only reason we are both so good at taking care of Elle is because we have made so many mistakes in our own lives that we know how not to be with our baby"
"I wish farkle and I were like that"
"It takes time honey, to be a new mom is difficult"
"But im so terrible at it"
"No your not"
"Yes I am, you and Lucas have such a connection and you communicate and your just amazing"
"Riley, your gonna be a great mom"
"Sure I am" Riley said sarcasm evident in her voice
"You already are the best mom ever"
"Maya I would love to agree with you, but I couldn't even get Stella stop crying. Sho only stopped when I handed her to you"
All of a suddenly Elle started crying
"I got her" Lucas said standing up
"Riley you will be an amazing mom, if you just keep practising, I mean the first month we had Elle I probably got a week of sleep. It was a real struggle but I had Lucas to help me and you have farkle"
"Yeah I guess, but peaches do you think farkle loves me"
"What makes you ask that honey"
"I overheard you and Lucas talking about another baby and he seemed so excited, and when I told farkle about Stella, he freaked at first"
"Of course he did, he was just shocked by the news"
"Yeah I guess"
Lucas walked in wait Elle
"Hey baby girl" Maya said as Lucas handed her the baby
"Mama"Elle said reaching for Maya
"Lucas" Maya said as her eyes widened
"Maya" Lucas said just as shocked
"She said Mama"she smiled
"She said her first word" Lucas yelled
"Who am I baby girl" Maya said pointing to herself
"Mama"she said smiling
Maya stood and spun her around
"My baby said her first word" Maya laughed
Lucas hugged both his girls, kissing them in their foreheads
"I love you Elle, I love you Maya"
"We love you too Lucas"
While the couple and their child were having a moment, Riley ran upstairs and grabbed Stella
She walked backdown seeing them all cuddled up on the couch
"Hey Peaches I'm gonna head out"
"Okay, I hope you feel better"
"I do thanks peaches, goodbye"
"Bye"
Riley walked out, but before she was completely gone Maya yelled something at her
"Riley"
"Yeah"
"A lullaby helps"
"Thank you" she smiled
