"You can't die!" I shout at the TV screen. This is what I hate about The Walking Dead, the fear that some of my favorite characters can die at any time.

Yoshi eats Doritos by my side. "We're going to finish the season and we won't know who dies."

I snatch the Doritos bag out of his hands, "Shut up! If that happens, I swear I won't watch this show again."

Yoshi huffs, fixing his glasses, "That's what you've been saying since season one."

"I'm weak, okay?"

We're both sitting on the floor, our backs against the bed behind us. It's really hot so I'm wearing shorts and a white t-shirt without a bra. I'm more than used to walking around Yoshi like this and I know he is too. Rocky sleeps peacefully by the window.

My room is a decent size, with a Queen size bed and posters of my favorite fandoms all over the purple walls. I have small Christmas lights glued to the top of the walls that look beautiful during the night.

We are completely focused on the TV when the episode ends and the credits roll out, "Noooooooo! I hate you, producers and writers of The walking dead! I hate you!"

"I told you!" Yoshi grins. I hit the back of his head, "Ow! Not my fault."

"How can they do this to us? How can it end like this? Who is going to die?"

Yoshi hands me the glass with cold Pepsi, "Here, drink."

"I'm going to die."

"Relax, it's just a Tv show."

I turn the TV off in total depression and sit in front of Yoshi. He shifts a few times, seeming troubled and I know it's not about the show. His eyes hold a glow I haven't seen before. He gives me a slight smile.

"Is there something wrong?"

"Kind of."

The atmosphere changes between us. It feels different somehow, I don't really know how to explain it or what to say. It makes me nervous to see him hesitate so much. I wait for him to elaborate. I know I have to give him his time.

Yoshi licks his lower lip, "I need your advice on something."

"I'm all ears."

He takes his cap off, leaving his messy hair free, "What would you do if you like a friend?"

I tilt my head, not expecting that question, but I go casual about it, "That's pretty easy, tell them?"

"Wouldn't you be afraid to lose their friendship?"

And then my little brain clicks and starts to consider that I may be that "friend". I'm not being self-centered but Yoshi doesn't have many female friends, just me and a few acquaintances. Yoshi waits for my answer, his eyes everywhere but me.

"Are you sure about what the way you feel?"

His eyes finally meet mine, "Yes, I'm pretty sure. I really like her."

"When did you realize you liked her?"

"I think I've always known. I've been a coward, but I won't hide it any more." He lowers his gaze and sighs. When he looks up at me again, his eyes hold a brightness full of emotions. "I'm dying to kiss her."

Instinctively, I bite my lower lip. "Oh, really?"

Yoshi moves a little closer, "Yes, her lips are a temptation, she's driving me crazy."

My chest feels strange, my stomach uneasy, "She must have nice lips, then."

"Not only her lips. She's the most beautiful girl I've seen in my life. She has me bewitched."

Bewitched...

Spell

Witch...

Ares ...

No! Don't! Don't think about Ares!

Not now!

Inevitably, those blue eyes come to my mind, that crooked and arrogant smile, those soft lips licking my neck.

Oh no!

I hate you, brain!

My best friend since childhood is about to confess his love for me —or that's what I think— and I'm thinking about the idiotic, sexy, arrogant, Greek God of my neighbor.

"Rachel?"

Yoshi's voice brings me to reality. He looks distraught and no wonder, I chose the worst moment to disconnect myself mentally. But it also helped to clear my mind a bit. Seeing Yoshi so vulnerable in front of me makes realize I can't handle a confession, not now.

"I need to use the bathroom." I get up before Yoshi can say anything.

Closing bathroom's door behind me, I lean against it. I hold my hair in frustration. I'm a coward. Worst part is I didn't even bring my phone to ask Dani for support. Who goes into the bathroom without his phone these days?

No one, just me.

I let go of my hair to massage my face, trying to think of what to do.

"Rachel?" I hear Yoshi's voice at the other side of the door, "I'm going to go. We'll talk some other day."

No!

I open the door as fast as I can but I can only see his back disappear in the door of my room.

"Ash!" I let myself fall in my bed and let the laziness consume me. I no longer want to think about what Yoshi was going to tell me, I just want to rest.

I close my eyes and quickly fall into the land of dreams.

-

Rocky's barking wakes me up abruptly. It's loud and continuous, what I call serious barking. Those he emits when there is someone he doesn't know in the house. I get up so fast from the bed that I get dizzy and I crash against the wall to the side.

"Ow!"

I blink a few times. Rocky is barking at the window. It's dark already, the night breeze moves my curtains gently.

There's nothing in the window, so I calm down, "Rocky, there's no one there."

But my dog doesn't listen and continues to bark. Maybe a cat is walking outside and his dog sense warns him or something?

Since Rocky doesn't stop, I walk to the window to calm him down. When I look out, I scream so loudly that Rocky jumps beside me.

Ares.

On a ladder.

Climbing to my window.

"What the hell are you doing?" I exclaim, gazing down at him in the middle of an aluminum ladder. He looks as cute as ever in his jeans and a purple t-shirt but the madness of this situation doesn't let me drool.

"It's called climbing, you should try it."

"I'm not in the mood for your sarcasm." I retort.

"I need to reset your Reuter, the signal is going on and off and that's the only way to fix it." His tone is so casual, as if this situation was completely normal.

"And you decided to go into my room without permission, climbing my window like this? You know breaking into someone's house is a crime, right?"

"I try calling but you wouldn't answer the phone."

"That doesn't entitle you to enter my room like this."

Ares rolls his eyes, "Could you stop the drama? It'll take a second."

"Drama? Drama? I'll teach you drama" I grab the two ends of the ladder and shake it. Ares holds on tightly, giving me a murderous look.

"Do that again, Rachel, and you'll see what happens."

"I'm not afraid of you."

"Then do it."

His eyes look right into mine, "Don't challenge me."

"I'm not challenging you, I'm warning you that there will be consequences if you do that again."

"What consequences?"

That crooked smile that I like so much forms in his lips, "Do it again and find out."

One part of me wants to do it and know what would happen but the other part is scared that Ares may end up falling off the ladder and hurting himself.

"Not worth it." I watch him climbs each step until he's right in front of me, his face mere inches away from mine.

Rocky goes crazy barking at the sight of the intruder but I'm too stunned to do anything.

"Could you control that flea bag?"

"Rocky hasn't had fleas this month so more respect."

"Sure, but I don't have all night."

I sigh in frustration, "Rocky, quiet, down." My dog obeys me, " Sit."

I step back to let Ares enter my room, his height makes my room look small.

Ares looks at me from head to toe, his eyes stay on my breasts and that's when I remember I'm not wearing a bra.

"I need to go to the bathroom."

For the second time in the night, I use my bathroom as an escape strategy but I forget a small detail: Ares is not Yoshi. Ares wouldn't let me escape so easily.

His hand grips my arm, frustrating my escape, "You can't leave me alone with that dog."

"Rocky won't hurt you."

"I'm not going to take any chances." he pulls at my arms gently, forcing me to walk to my computer. He pushes me until I sit in the chair and he kneels a few steps away to work on my Reuter.

"Why do you think you're the owner of my internet connection?" He shrugs. "I could report you for entering my house this way, you know that, don't you?"

"I know," I look at him strangely. "But I also know you won't."

"How can you be so sure?"

"Stalkers don't usually report their stalked. It's the opposite."

"This," I pointed to the window and then to him, "would also be considered extreme stalking."

"It's not the same."

"Why not?"

"Because you like me," he pauses, "but I don't like you."

Auch! Right in the heart!

I want to refute him but his words were like alcohol in a fresh wound. He keeps working on the Reuter and I stay quiet.

Because you like me but I don't like you.

He said it so casually, so honestly. If he doesn't like me, then, why kiss my neck that day in the cemetery?

Ignore his words, Rachel, don't let him affect you.

Ares looks up at me, "What? Did I hurt your feelings?"

"Pssst! Please! Of course not." I swallow my broken heart, "Just hurry up with that so I can sleep."

He says nothing, and I just watch him work. Having him that close still feels so unreal. I can see every detail of his face, his smooth skin, without traces of any kind of acné. Life is so unfair sometimes, Ares has it all: money, skills, intelligence, and beauty. A little acné would be fair for him.

"All set." He exclaims and shakes the dust of his hands with a disgusted face, "You should clean your room from time to time, I don't know how you can live in this dusty condition."

I laugh, "Oh, excuse me, your highness, for having you in my unworthy room."

"Cleaning has nothing to do with money, lazy."

"Don't play that card! Sometimes, I don't have time to clean up, between my summer job, sleep, eat, stalking-" I cover my mouth in surprise. Why did I say that? Why?

Ares smiles from ear to ear, the gleam of mockery in his eyes, "Stalking me consumes your time, huh?"

I blink quickly, "Nope, no, that's not what I meant."

Still on his knees, Ares crawls toward me and I shudder in my little chair. Those deep eyes stare into mine as he gets so close that I have to open my legs to let him pass. His face is only a few inches from mine.

"What are you doing?"

He doesn't respond and simply puts his hands on the arms of the chair at the sides of my waist. I can feel the warmth that comes from his body. We're too close. The intensity of his gaze makes breathing a hard task. My curious eyes go down to his lips.

His eyes go down from my face, to my breasts and exposed legs, then back to my face, a mischievous smile invading those wet lips that I'm dying to try. I swallow. The air becomes heavy and hot around us.

Ares takes my hands with his and puts them on the arms of the chair, squeezing them there, catching me, making sure I can't move them.

His eyes never leave mine when he lowers his face until it is between my knees, "Ares, What are you-" his lips touch my knee, leaving me breathless. I try to move my hands but his are above mine, preventing any movement.

The way the muscles in his arms and shoulders contract as he leaves wet kisses at the beginning of my thighs looks so fucking sexy. The sight of his tattoo just adds fire to this volcano that is waking up inside of me. His soft lips kiss, lick and suck the sensitive skin on the inside of my thighs.

My body shudders, small shivers of pleasure run through my nerves, burning my senses, numbing my mind and my morals. His black hair tickles my exposed thighs.

Ares lifts his gaze as he bites my skin, causing a small moan to escape my lips. My breathing is erratic and inconsistent, my poor heart beats like crazy.

He continues his assault, going up and down my thighs, his lips attacking, devouring. My hips move alone, begging for more, wanting their lips in a place a little higher.

My eyes close as I moan his name and I can feel his lips stretching into a smile against my skin but I don't care.

"Do you want me?" His lips graze over my shorts and I'm going to die of a heart attack, I can only nod, "I want you to say it."

"I want you."

He stops.

I open my eyes to find his face so close to mine that I can feel his breath graze my lips, his eyes fixed on mine. "You're going to be mine, Rachel."

And as sudden as he showed up in my room, he left.
