I can make a lot of connections with LOTR and my own life. I feel like I'm just like Frodo from LOTR because I'm quiet, timid, kind, compassionate, imaginative, but I've also been through a lot of hard and traumatic stuff in my life that not that many people can survive through and my childhood hasn't been all that great, but I've managed to survive all of it. Plus, my journey hasn't been all that easy.
Also, Frodo is really different from the hobbits in the Shire, and he's a bit of an outsider, which is how I feel in real life because I'm very different from people my age and from people in general.
And also, the town where I live in feels like Hobbiton, because it's quiet, peaceful and we have a bustling and busy downtown area, just like the market in Hobbiton.
You know how Frodo is closely related to Pippin because he's a Took and Frodo only has one parental figure/guardian to take care of him? Well, a connection that I can make with that is that my sister and I are closely related (we're sisters) and I feel a lot like Frodo and my sister is a LOT like Pippin and my sister has the same personality type as Pippin (ESFP, the entertainer) and I only live with one parent, which is my dad, and he has the same personality type as Bilbo from LOTR, which is ESFJ (the caregiver). Isn't that crazy?!
Oh, and you know how hobbits live in holes in the ground? Well, I live in a basement apartment, which is technically a hole in the ground, but its really comfortable and cozy, just like Bag End.
And when I come of age, when I turn 18, I'm planning on leaving home and going to college, which is kind of scary and it sort of feels like how when Frodo became an adult, he had to leave the Shire, which was his home, and it was really scary for him.
I'm hoping that when I go to college, I wish that I could meet people that are sort of like the members of the Fellowship and hopefully meet someone who is like Sam and maybe I'll meet someone who is like Merry, too. And hopefully in college.I'll meet people who are like Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Boromir, Gandalf and people who are like the characters from LOTR. It's so funny how I can make all of these connections from LOTR and my own life. I just see a lot of similarities.
