As I sat on the chair listening to my parents and friends sing "Happy Birthday" all I really wanted was to see him again. But lets go back to when this all started. One full year ago.
"Happy F'n Birthday sis!" My brother slurred with a drink in his hand. He is 21 and he took me out drinking for my 19th birthday. I smile at him and laugh. He's a bit of a lightweight but I guess it runs in the family. I stumble to the shiny wooden bar surrounding glasses and a bartender wearing all black with a white towel draped over his shoulder.
"What can I do for you?" he said as a slip onto the black barstool.
"Whatever you recommend" I reply as I catch the eye of a young guy with shaggy brown hair and a lip piercing, from across the bar.
"Will do" the bartender says and walks away. I see the guy slide next to me, now that I can see him more clearly he is quite attractive. Perfectly plum lips, long, poofy, brown hair that was very frizzy. He also had the eyes of an angel. Oh my god his eyes! His perfect brown eyes matched his hair perfectly. He also had on a pair of dark jeans, a black t-shirt that said "Asking Alexandria" and a black hoodie. Why is everything so black today? I mean don't get me wrong black is my favorite color but still.
"Excuse me?" He said in a British accent.
"Oh sorry what?" I replied coming out of my thought process
"Whats your name love?"
"Kayla. You?"
"Ben" he said putting up a finger asking for another drink "What is such a pretty girl doing alone"
"Oh, I'm not alone. My brother is around here somewhere."
"I meant single love. No boyfriend?"
"Oh, haha no." I said awkwardly
"Come on sis! Mom wants us home by 12!" I hear my brother come up
"Joshua!" I yelled "Stop being a buffoon, lets stay longer" I see Josh with a girl wrapped around his arm whispering in his ear
"Fine 5 minutes, but then we are out" He said as the girl lead him into a back room.
"Love?" I hear Ben's voice pipe up
"Yes?" I reply he handed me a slip of paper with his number on it. "Thanks?"
"You're welcome" he says as he gets up shouting "James!" and moving towards a taller guy
I finish of my drink as I see Josh
"LEGGO MY DRUNK SEESTA" he yells while he puts his arm over my shoulders and smiles
"Happy birthday" he whispers and we walk home laughing.
