54 years later…
*Unica’s P.O.V*
“Unica!” Anahi called loudly into the thick forest. “Yeah,” I responded from the tall tree tops, searching for our friends among the greenery. Crazy how my life is simple, no excitement or danger. Just a bunch of loner teenager werewolves, surviving on our own.
“Do you see them,” Anahi asked, indicating our pack mates Daisi and Tatyana, who were racing around the perimeter in competition with one another. I continued jumping from tall treetop to tall treetop in search of the competitive twosome. I breathed in the thick Texas air happy that we lived in one of the rare full of life Texan forests, located outside the small town of Pueblo Del Coyote. Finally, I pounced down from the 30-foot tree with ease and landed on the soles of my bare feet, crouching a bit from the gravity. As I straightened out a menacing black wolf with neon green tipped fur ran past me.
“Taty won!” I called out with a grin to Anahi who ran up beside me.
Right behind her a pastel pink wolf walked past with fury in its big sea blue eyes. “Calm down Daisi,” it’s only a game.”
She snarled under her wolfy breath and jogged behind the bushes to where she left her clothes to get dressed. She came out not two minutes later in faded black jeans and a T-shirt with Bart Simpson on the front saying, ‘Eat My Shorts.” Her hazel hair in a wild jumble, around her broad shoulders.
Two other figures surged past us, making Daisi, Anahi, and I fall to the forest floor.
“God damn it Dina,” Daisi raged making Anahi and I laugh quietly, “What a sore loser.”
“What did you say Unica,” her now crimson eyes snapping to me.
I held up my defenseless hands with an anything but innocent face, “Nothing Daisi I swear on my little doggie heart.”
Daisi, Anahi, and I got our butts up and ran to go meet the others in front of the three story pack house where everyone was high fiving Taty and Marisol for claiming victory in their matches. Just as I was about to do the same an ear splitting howl broke into the air, making us all still in fear.
Our heads seemed to snap in union towards the noise, knowing that howl all too well. Without a second thought we all shifted, shredding our clothing and sprinted towards our Female Alpha Sami.
