As a kid she loved rain.
It meant staying inside,
warm.
It meant drinking hot chocolate.
It meant baking with her grandma.
Rain meant protection.
It kept the bad guys out at night.
When it rained ,she felt safe.
Now rain is different.
It's cold.
It makes her tired, grumpy.
She doesn't want to be home,
but doesn't want to go out.
She has seen and heard
the dark things.
Rain no longer seems like protection.
Rain is just there.
