Madison's POV
Noong bata pa ako, I was referred as an Ugly duckling.
I was an Illegitimate child. Nang mamatay ang Mama ko when I was six years old, my Dad picked me up at dinala sa bahay niya. He was a business man. May tatlo itong anak na babae, and there's me. Compared to my lovely Sisters I was always the Ugly and gloomy one. They always say mean things and verbally abuse me. I'm always alone. They always make me feel that I'm not belong in their family. I didn't care though dahil I feel I deserve everything.
I'm not confident and I do know how unattractive I am. That's why I hide behind my books. I'm so happy with my own space. But when I turned 18 my Stepmother or should I say my Father's Wife pushed me on the stairs. I thought,
Yes, just kill me.
I was hospitalized for two weeks yet no one visited me. Masyadong busy si Dad. I had no friends. I was a nerd and an outcast kahit sa school.
I'm so alone.
I cried every night from the pain and misery I've been hiding. I don't want to live like this but where should I go?
After I discharged in the hospital. Pinuntahan ko si Dad. I beg him to let me study in Korea, but I'll promise after graduating I'll cut every connection with them. And did you know? He didn't even hesitate and said 'ok'
That's the last time I saw him. My sisters are all bitches kaya sobrang natutuwa sila.
It was hard at first after I graduate dahil wala na akong sustento galing sa kanila. I was struggling before dahil isa lamang akong freelancer na author. I can barely eat three times a day pero nang na tiyambahan ko ang isang grand prize sa isang web novel competition and was scouted. There my life as an author started.
And then I met you... your smile heals me. Hey did you know? That my novels are all about you...
" Seven " I called you out. Humarap ka tapos ngumiti saakin labas ang mapuputi mong ngipin, your dimples are visible. But after I smiled lumapit ka saakin at hinawakan ang pisngi ko. Pinunasan mo ang namumuong luha sa mga mata ko. Then you removed my glasses. You turned Red when I stared at you.
In a bashful voice you called me a Coffee Monster, Red Freak and a Heels dork. Natawa ako kasi kahit inaasar mo ako your red blushing face was too adorable I can't helped but to smile. Sobrang ngiti ko pakiramdam ko mapupunit na yung labi ko kakangiti.
I'm not an Ugly Duckling anymore.
You made me into a Swan.
It would be nice if you kissed me I thought. As if like hearing it. You leaned forward and pecks a kiss on my lips. It was warm. Your lips that touches mine.
And I know I'm dreaming.
Napabukas ako ng mga mata.
" Shit, I knew it! It's too good to be true...haaaa! Even though that was a good dream! " Sabi ko sabay hawak sa noo ko. Huh? Wait? A towel? May towel kasi sa noo ko, and gosh...the ceiling looks familiar but it's not mine?! Napalunok ako at dahan dahang napatingin sa kaliwa ko...something is laying beside me...I can feel it.
And boom.
There's a yummy being laying beside me. I gulped, at nag Rosario.
" In the name of the Father, The son and the Holy Spirit..THANK YOU! Omg! Just thank you!!! " I whispered and iniipit ang kilig ko. Napakagat labi pa ako para pigilan ang fan girling ko but when I glanced again at my side. Seven was wide awake! I mean half asleep?
You reached your hand and asked
" Are you feeling ok? "
He said with a gentle smile tapos hinawakan ako sa noo.
Oh, jusko! Nananaginip pa rin ba ako?!
Please sana this time huwag muna akong magising!!
But when Seven sluggishly gets up naloka uli ako dahil bakit naka boxer lang siya?! May sando siya. I mean, pang ibaba! Well I peeked under the sheets...unfortunately I still have my clothes on.
" ... "
Hindi agad ako nakapag salita dahil dumeretso siya sa C.R. I heard the shower kaya malamang ay naliligo ito.
Should I leave?
No. Gusto kong makita ang wet hair ni Seven. Amp!
So, naghintay talaga ako dun. Awkwardly. Pero napapitlag ako nang biglang bumukas ang pinto with a ' Bang! '
Seven stood there looking much sober right now. Pero hindi iyon ang una kong nakita at iniscan ng mga mata ko. Why? Syempre inuna ko yung nakabalandrang SIX PACK ABS NIYA! Capslock para intense besh. Tracing those droplets of water na dumadausdos syempre hinagod ko muna siya ng tingin pababa dun...sa may towel. Oo, may towel huwag kayong ano, Edi kung walang towel baka nag nosebleed na ako dito! White pa naman ang bed sheets ni Seven. Plain white. All white. Kung siguro gumawa kami ni Seven kagabi dito baka madumihan ko toh.hihi landi.
I gulped at napakagat labi.
" Ahem! "
I heard him.
" Dito po ang tingin " sarcastic na sabi niya habang winawagayway ang kamay sa mukha niya.
" Hah? " parang lutang naman na sabi ko.
" I said if you're feeling ok..please kindly leave. Magbibigis na ako. " Parang masungit na sabi niya. He walked parading his yummy body papunta dun sa closet habang mabagal naman akong tumatayo sa kama. Syempre pasilip silip pag may time.
" Pwede ka naman kasing magbihis sa harap ko e.. " pabulong kong sabi.
" May sinasabi ka? " Taas kilay na sabi niya.
" Wala sabi ko ang hot mo. "
I truthfully said pero hindi siya kumibo at tumalikod na lang. Syempre naglakad na ako paalis ng kwarto pero nagulat ako ng hinawakan niya ako sa braso.
" Wait downstairs. " Yun lang tapos sinara niya na yung pinto. Napanganga na lang ako, and did the victory dance habang naglalakad pababa. Ayiiiieeeeh!
Minutes later bumaba na rin si Seven but he's not wearing his usual uniform. Naka polo shirt lang siya and jeans. Pero hot parin. He walked inside the kitchen kaya sinundan ko siya dun. Hindi naman niya ako sinita kaya siguro ok lang. I sited in a stool hindi kalayuan sa kaniya. Watching him cook was the best feeling ever. Nakikita ko siyang nagluluto at serious. And that feeling na pinagluluto niya ako is priceless.
" Eat. "
Tipid na sabi niya at inihain saakin ang isang bongga at mukhang sobrang sarap na lugaw? Oo, maharlikang lugaw dahil ang daming sahog! Gosh may fried whatever chicken na nakahiwa sa taas and some side dishes. May kimchi din at mga gulay gulay na nakikita sa isang hapag kainan ng isang typical Korean house.
" ... "
Like homemade dishes...
I silently grabbed the chopsticks and gobble up everything tapos sinunod ko yung lugaw. Nakayuko ako tapos subo lang ng subo hanggang sa nabulunan ako. Seven hurriedly came with water at inabot saakin. I was choking and yet I can't stop eating...then before I noticed it naiiyak na pala ako. I cried and ate. Seven was just looking at me silently..
This is a first..since I'm 6years old...it's been a while since someone cooked for me. I almost forgot what a homemade food taste like. I'm so happy that my tears can't stop falling.
" Thanks..for the meal. " I said after eating in that awkward silence. Naubos na rin ang luha ko kaya huminto na sila.
" I'll pay you back—"
" No need. "
Mabilis na tanggi niya. He was looking at me seriously kaya naman nailang ako and nahiya dahil sa pag iyak iyak ko kanina. Nakakainis ka talaga Madison! All these years hindi ka umiyak kahit sobrang hirap pero dahil sa maharlikang lugaw ni Seven nag crying lady ka!
Just kill me now.
Napatango na lang ako tapos tumayo na. Siguro gusto na lang talaga niya akong umalis.
" Sit, Hindi pa tayo tapos mag usap. "
Seriously. Ano naman ba ginawa ko? Eh para kasing galit siya? Well—I did many crazy things..pero I didn't really regret doing them tho. Specially the kiss and hug. Hehe.
" Conditions: Don't wear Red skimpy dresses and those damn heels. Don't wear anything that is too short, lalo na yung hapit na hapit sa katawan mo. Huwag ka na ring mag contact lense. Just wear your glasses. Make sure na hanggang baba ng tuhod ang damit na susuotin mo. And—"
" Wait! " I cuts him off. What is he saying?
" Umm- what's this all about? " I said sounding lost.
" Conditions for you. " He answers with a matter of fact.
" Para saan?! "
" For me to seriously date you. "
" ... "
Laglag ang pangang tinitigan ko lang siya. But he looked so serious kaya naman nanlaki ang mga mata kong tinitigan siya. Nag isip muna ako tapos sumagot ng rumaragasang...
" NO. "
" What? "
Gulat namang tanong niya. But I'm serious about my answer, and it's No.
" Why? "
Inayos ko ang pagtayo ko at nag Lean in. Rule number 1. Iliyad mo te!
" I won't change Seven. I'll seduce you and make you fall for me because it's ' ME' I'm not the same Madison before. Ito na ang tunay na ako. Don't change the fact na nagbago ako. I realized many things after meeting you. And that is I'm finally a swan. Thanks to you. " I said with a smile at tumalikod, leaving the dumbfounded Seven.
Not yet. He didn't like me yet. He might be curious or just pitying me. No, I don't want it like that...
