It was already six years.
After that day, you did everything to avoid him and thankfully he didn't bother you. You immediately went home to your parents in your hometown after your junior year and never looked back nor heard anything from him since then.
Now you're a successful journalist. It has been your ambition to be a journalist and you achieved it. You still have no lovelife though, because your first priority right now is your career. Career over love as what you say is your motto. And after that incident in highschool, you don't feel like committing yet.
You and Reneé are still bestfriends and you're going back to meet again. And not just to meet with her again, but because you're going to write something about your previous school -now one of the most popular schools in the world- that you just left with your memories. You said you were never looking back, but now you're ready to because it has been a long long time.
You parked your car infront of her house, and you walked towards the front porch, checking if you had the correct address.
Payne Residence - #109A Green Village
You then start to ring the doorbell.
"(Y/N)!" She greets you as she opens the door of her flat.
You see her holding a baby, "is she?" You ask and she nods.
"Omg! She looks just like you!" You say and you hold the small hand of the sleeping baby.
"Come in, we have so much catching up to do." She opens the door widely for you to enter.
As you sit down the couch, you see her husband going downstairs.
"Uhh, this is my husband, Liam." She introduces, "Darling, this is my bestfriend, (Y/N)." You know him because she talked about him to you and they were a couple since college.
"Hey (Y/N)," Liam greets you and you greet back.
You look at your bestfriend, "so you really end up for each other? I'm so glad for both of you." You smile and they looked at each other and smiled.
She gives the baby to Liam and sits down with you.
You talked about so many things because it's been years since you saw each other. You didn't make it to her wedding last year too because you had work but you gave them a present.
"You can stay here anytime you want." She says as she leads you to the guest room.
"Thank you Reneé, I'll just be here for 2 days to finish my business here in London." You say and you put your bag at the table.
"So you're going to our beloved university for your work, right?" She asks and you nod.
"Yep, I was assigned there since they knew that I studied there. Imagine, I'm going back again to the place I left behind." You say and throw yourself to the bed.
"Alright, good luck on that." She says, "go rest for awhile. I know you're so tired from a 3-hour drive. I'll wake you up at dinner." She says and leaves you.
You immediately drift yourself off to sleep.

The other day, you went to the coffee shop first near the school. The aroma inside the shop makes you nostalgic.
"Good morning ma'am, what's your order?" The cashier asked.
"I'll have a vanilla latte with caramel cream," you say and paid then she inserted your order.
"Name ma'am?" He asks.
"(Y/N)." You smile. You waited then you received your order.
As you make your way to the table, someone bumped into you. Luckily, your drink didn't spill.
"Sorry." The person apologizes.
"It's okay." You say
"(Y/N)?" She says your name and you get confused. You look at her and she looks familiar, "is it you?"
"Uhmm, pardon me. But, who are you?" You ask politely.
"Can we sit down first?" She asks you.
"Uhmm, okay?" It turned to be a question then you sit down.
You look at her and you swear you've seen her before. More like, known because she obviously knows you.
She starts to speak, "You may not remember me but I did something wrong to you."
"Okay.." You urge her to continue.
"It's me, Danielle." She introduces herself, and the name is familiar to you, "Louis' leading partner in the theatre play, in high school."
Now, you remembered. It's her. You remember everything that day.
"Oh." Is all you said.
"Look, don't get mad." She says cautiously, afraid that you might get angry with her.
"Oh no." You shake you hand at her,"I'm not mad, it's been a long long time. I've left it all behind." You say truthfully.
"But I still want to apologize for what I've done. And I really have something to tell you about what happened that day." She says.
"Really, it's ok-" she cuts you off.
"No, You need to know what happened." She then tells you.
You just nodded for her to tell you, just to finish this.
You sipped on your drink as she started telling you what she wanted to say, "I really had feelings for Louis, even before you did. I never tried to confess to him because I was just a nobody. Then, when I heard he was in a relationship, I was really heartbroken."
"Then the day I knew he was going to be my partner in the play. I was so happy because I can be with him even just on a play."
"And that day you caught us in the detention room. Well it was really my fault. I forced him."
You're just listening so she continues, "I confessed to him. He rejected my feelings and apologizes because he already loved somebody else, and it was you. I was so angry at him and I tried to prove to him that I'm better than you so I kissed him. He was struggling to get free from me, and that was the time you barged in."
You don't know what to say because now you know what really happened.
"I guess you didn't let him explain. I'm really sorry, this was all my fault. I ruined your relationship and the conscience is still eating me." She apologizes and now she's teary eyed.
"No, it's okay." You say and hold her hand on the table to comfort her, "I forgive you. And it's in the past now. Don't get bother by it. And I already moved on. Besides, I wanna apologize for what I did to you that day. It was wrong of me to do that too. I acted out of my anger."
She smiles at you. "It's alright. I deserved it."
"But, have you seen him since then?" She asks and you shake your head.
"Oh. Okay." She says, "I better go now. Thank you (Y/N)."
"Thank you for telling me too." You smile and wave at her as she leaves.
