Scientific Name: Mustela felipei

Conservation Status: Critically endangered

Location: South America

Colors: Dark brown

Length (Head to hind feet): 22 cms which is equivalent to 8.7 inches

Tail length: 11 cms or 4.3 inches

They are dark brown in color with a buff underside. They have webbing between their toes that suggests a semi-aquatic lifestyle.

Habitat: They can be found in Colombia and possibly Ecuador. They inhabit areas close to water at altitudes of 1,700 m - 2,700 m (5,580 -8,860 ft)

Other names: Don Felipe's Weasel

They are classed as riparian which means inhabiting areas close to water.

The scientific name honors the mammalogist Philip "Don Felipe" Hershkowitz
