A token of coffee
Ava regretted everything she had done that day in the mikealson compound.
Yet at the same time she didn't.
And she didn't want to deal with the repercussions, so she stayed sealed in the compound- away from Cami.

It was the next morning.
Ava could tell easily by the sun pooling through the crevices of the curtain. She could see the speckles of dust floating through the room and it was then she wondered what klaus could see.
His senses were heightened, could he see the fabric of the material lacing the window- or the amount of dust collecting at their very feet?
If it weren't for the heavy breathing beside her, Ava would have assumed klaus had stayed away once he left to attend to his sister.
The words he used were "as much as I love this, sweetheart. I've got an unconscious faux sister to deal with."
Oh, what a joy Freya Mikealson was turning out to be.

Avas legs were sprawled across the sheets, and her eyes were scrunched closed in denial of the sun proving dominance.
"Morning, love." A husky voice murmured, his eyes splintering in the blistering blue.
Ava sighed as she thought of Camille. Of her unforgiving stare as Ava walked home in the same clothes as the day before.
She pushed her way off of the bed and fell onto the wooden floor in a heap. The hybrid laughed as he watched her topple to the ground, still clutching the thin blanket that was placed on the foot of the bed before.
Ava rose, huffing the strands of hair from her face and swerving to find any article of clothing that wasn't torn.
All she found was his shirt.
Great.
"Last night was fun." He grinned, pushing himself against the magnificent head board to watch her graciously fling the shirt over her shoulders.
"No." Ava retorted, eyes slitted.
"It was a mistake. And what I said last night still stands." Her voice was strong as she declared her thoughts, wrapping herself in the thin shirt.
Klaus chuckled as he nodded, curiosity a poison in his features.
"I'm sure it does, love." He commented with fake sincerity. Ava scowled at his tone, tugging her hair through the collar and storming toward the door.
"Ive never been more serious."
"Neither have I."
Ava stopped by the doorway, spinning around with a harsh glare and provoking stance.
"Stop doing that!" She yelled at his instantaneous response.
"I'm saying I'm agreeing with you." Klaus informed the petite blonde with a smirk.
"I don't believe you."
"And what does that say about what you want then?"
"I hate you so much right now!"
The air was thick with loose tension. It felt uncomfortable and unnatural for the pair to be stuck in between each particle.
"I'm sure you do, sweetheart." The hybrid grinned, sliding past her as he pushed the door ajar.
Ava huffed as she strode behind the narcissistic man, her head down as she thought of all the different ways she could have handled the situation.
They swerved into kitchen, splitting off as Ava went for the fridge and klaus went for the countertop.
As the refrigerator opened, cold air and a blaring light were shoved toward the blonde.
She squinted for a second before her nostrils were filled with a sweet scent. Ava was taken aback at first, scanning over the shelves several times for confirmation.
And then she turned to him.
His head was down and scouring a newspaper, his jaw flexing as each page turned. She was transfixed for a moment, this scene was so normal compared to their abnormal life.
"Staring is rude, love." Klaus commented without looking up, chuckling as the silent girl fought for words.
"You... filled the fridge?" She asked more than stated. It confused her, for the family thought of nothing really but themselves. And none needed something so minuscule.
Klaus finally looked up.
"You asked me to." His tone was lucid and comforting, yet somehow still lacing with a quizzical tone.
Ava's lips parted at his response, it had derailed her from her adamant excuse from earlier.
All she could muster was an 'oh' before turning and hiding her disheveled appearance.
Quickly, she grabbed some milk and a blood bag- shoving both onto the side without a second thought.
The kettle screeched as the hot water bubbled through the noise, blurring out the silence in a fit of mechanic rage.
Silently Ava poured two mugs of coffee, swirling around the milk until the creamy texture overtook the black. She barely thought when the red oozed from the sachet and into one of the steaming cups.
It pooled in with the cream until they blended into one another- swirls of red and beige interwoven within the foam.
Ava gently pushed one of the cups toward the hybrid, taking the normal coffee for herself as she sipped the burning liquid. The small notion of the coffee was so much more to the hybrid.
It was a small action yet at the same time it showed avas willingness to try. It was the declaration Avangaline oconnell could make something normal out of a bizarre relationship, but it would be their normal.
Klaus smiled faintly as he sipped the concoction, relishing its savouring taste as it soothed his tired lips.
Elijah walked in as the two silently enjoyed each other's company. His gaze flickered between the smug hybrid and the girl draped in a mans fabric.
That morning it seemed different, the tone was relaxed and although he heard the two fighting earlier, the atmosphere was soft as the tension sunk in the air.
Ava nodded to the new mikealson, pushing the dirtied cup away from her and heading toward him. She stopped slightly beside nik, gently placing her hand against his shoulder as a way mentally confirming her declaration from earlier.
"Morning 'lijah. The kettles just boiled." Ava hummed, finally leaving the room to find a correct piece of attire.
