"clear!" a voice shouted, followed by a sharp sting in yoongi's chest.
"the patient has regained consciousness."
"sir? can you hear me?"
his eyes fluttered open. where was he?
who are you? was what he wanted to ask, but instead it came out as incoherent mumbling.
"mister yoongi? how many fingers am i holding up?"
"three," was all yoongi managed to force out of his dry throat.
"he's going to be alright," the doctor nodded to the nurses, who left the room one by one.
"why am i here?"
the doctor let out a quiet sigh that didn't go unnoticed. yoongi stared at his name tag that read kim seokjin.
"i'm afraid you tried to kill yourself," seokjin explained, an unexplainably sad look in his eyes. "you jumped into the han river when someone saw you and contacted us."
"but i didn't. i was just at home, with ji-"
yoongi froze. he was about to say someone's name, but who?
he ran a hand through his damp, unkempt hair, staring down at his lap in disbelief.
"what day is it today?" he asked slowly. everything sounded distorted, muffled.
"it's 3am on a friday," seokjin answered, worry lacing his tone.
chills ran down yoongi's spine, and he suddenly found it becoming much harder to breathe.
"my phone."
"huh?"
"where's my phone?"
"give it to him."
a nurse handed him the strangely cold phone. even his own phone didn't feel familiar to him.

yoongi felt sleepy, but he also wanted to find whoever was bugging him so much. eventually, sleepiness won over and he closed his eyes.
