I could hear my mother's footsteps coming down the hallway. Grace scurried across the room and into my closet as my mother pushed open the door. She walked around a little, and examined my room.
"Who did this?"
I can't have her knowing about Grace. She would think i'm insane. I couldn't resist, but I must.
"It was me" I said in a quiet voice.
"Why, Rosemary?"
I shrugged my shoulders. Could it be that I really did do this? Maybe Grace is my imagination. But she can't be. I saw her with my own eyes. I checked my closet to be sure she was still there. She wasn't. Where could she be?
"Rick, come here and look at this!"
I could hear Rick running up the steps. As he entered my room his expression changed.
"What is it, honey?"
"Look at what Rosemary did!"
"Rosemary couldn't have done this! I think I know who did."
Rick ran downstairs and grabbed the phone, my mother chasing behind.
"Rick, what are you doing?"
"Calling 911"
"What's going on?"
"Someone is in the house..."
"How do you know?"
"Just trust me with this, okay?"
Suddenly I heard a whisper say "Rick was my killer, and now i'm yours" I turned to see Grace holding a knife behind me.
