Den's POV
I woked up from a nightmare. A nightmare which is my reality. Its really a disaster. After LA's visit, I thought of giving him a chance but I havent finalized everything yet. I dont want to give the guy a chance with only half a heart. He's so good to be hurt when all he did was wait and love me even though its so hard. I was taken aback from my thoughts when Ella knock on my door.
"Besh, wala ka ba shift ngayon?" she asked. Kaya I confusedly looked at my clock. Shoot! Im late for work! I rushed doing my morning rituals and made my way to the kitchen. There I saw Ate cleaning the table.
"I'll be eating sa hospital Ate! Goodbye. Loveyou! Besh! Tara na." I said before going out of the door and in my car. Ella followed me agad agad kaya pag sakay niya, I started the engine.
We are on our way to the hospital, when all too familiar figure caught my eyes. But instead of following the figure, I focus myself on getting to work.
"Uhmm besh, diba si Tita Lita yon?" Ella asked as if she saw a ghost. Well, yeah kasi nasa states si Tita and hindi dapat naririto because of business in states.
"I dont know. I guess." I said trying to avoid the topic. I dont want to get involved in a conversation that is connected to him. Yes, him.
"Well, good for her that she's home. If ever na siya nga yon." she replied after getting a clue that I dont want to talk about it.
The journey to the hospital was so quiet. We ended turning the radio on para naman maganda vibe. We arrived just in time para sa shift ko. Sinuot ko na ang aking coat para makapag-ikot.
I was about to enter a room when, I saw his mom approaching me. What is she doing here? I curiously asked myself. So I turn around and was about to walk when..
"Iha." she called me.
"Ah, tita. Hi po." I greeted her. I dont want her to be involve. Masyado siyang mabait.
"Iha, kamusta ka na?" she asked with a hint of sadness. She's a business women and if you see her in her office suit you'll get fucking scared but behind that suit is a calm and kind person.
"Im good po, how are you tita? Matagal ko na kayong di nakikita ha!" I joked, trying to avoid what was about to be asked.
"Silly girl, or should I say woman. You've grown Iha. Napakagandang babae. Sayang lang at--" I cut her off. I dont want that topic to open, last night I decided not to talk about anything about him and me.
"Ah tita. Coffee nalang tayo gusto niyo ba?" I said trying to change the topic, which she immediately observed.
"Ay, how nice of you to ask but I guess I have to leave you now. You still have work to do." she said and smiled to me as if telling me that she got my point. "Oh siya, iha. Nice bumping in to you."
"Ah opo. You too tita." I just said. She smiled then left me there.
I finished my rounds after an hour or so when someone knocked on my door.
"Come in." I said. The door opened and Luis was there with a rose in his hand.
"Surprise?" he said. "Sorry, di ako nagsabi. Lunch tayo? Libre ko."
"Aba, nagbabawi? Mr. Revilla?" I said crossing my arms above my chest.
"Yes ma'am." he answered then laugh. We both laugh.
"Alright then. Lets go." I said. I grabbed my things and went out.
We were talking about things habang papunta kami sa resto. Nakakabored lang.
"Order na Den." he said. Nakaupo na kami sa isang table dito. When two culprits caught my eyes. Its them.
"Den, nandyan sila. Gusto mo ba umalis nalang?" Luis asked and I can see na nag aalala siya sakin.
"Huh? Bakit aalis?" I said shrugging the thought that we're in the same room. It felt wrong. I think Im suffocating and I cant catch my breathe.
"Den, are you sure?" He asked once again.
"Of course Im fine." I said trying to act normal. I excused myself to go to bathroom cause I think I need space.
I was washing my face with water habang nakatuon ang dalawa ko palad sa sink. "C'mon Den, its been 5 years. Kaya mo yan." I sighed. A culprit entered the comfort room. She's looking at me.
"Dennise.." she said. I dont know what to feel.
"Laura.." I replied. "H-how are you?" Ay pucha. Napakatalino mo dennise! Asking her how is she? Great den. Great.
"I-i'm doin fine." she said. Somewhat I find her voice sad, about her situation. Or maybe she pity me.
"I have to go." I said, I dont want to talk to her longer. Talking to the wife of my love is somewhat weird. I find it weird, cause seeing her stings my heart.
I met Luis' eyes and smiled. I have to act normal and not ruin our lunch.
"So, kain na tayo" pag aaya ko sakanya and smiled sweetly.
"Yeah, tara." he said. We are eating quitely when Luis started the conversation.
"Den, I'll be leaving the Philippines." he blurted out. He cant look me in the eyes.
"May nakalimutan ka ba gawin don?" I asked.
"For good Den." he continued shrugging my question. "I found someone there Den."
"Thats good. Thats good." I told him. Atleast he will be free from my rants and problems.
"You told me na wala naman talaga diba? Na Im only your friend." he said. I nodded in responce. I guess, fate wants us as friends.
"You are and you'll always be my friend." I said looking intently in his eyes. "You've been a good friend to me Luis, and thats enough."
"I hope he finds his way back to you Den." he said glancing at the culprit not far from our table.
I let out a little laugh "He wont and he cant Luis. We both know that, lets not make fools out of ourselves."
"Dont lose hope Den. He still loves you, I know he does." Luis said then smile at me.
We finished our lunch at hinatid na niya ako pauwi. I decided to go home sa bahay talaga namin. Wala si Mom and dad dahil nasa business meeting out of the country kaya si Jus at Mosh ang sumalubong sakin.
"Ate!" they both shouted.
"Hi! I missed both of you!" I said while hugging them. It felt like years since I've done this.
"Akala namin, you wont come home e." pagbibiro sakin ni Jus habang si Mosh naman ay nakayapos pa rin sakin.
"Ate, when will Kuya l-"
"Mosh! Pumasok ka na nga." sita sakanya ni Jus. Alam ng kapatid kong ito lahat ng pinagdaanan ko. She's also there when I was so broken.
"Kamusta na ate?" she said changing the topic.
"Im fine. Busy sa trabaho." I said then hugged her uli. "I missed you Jus."
"I missed you too Ate."
