Naomi without knowing had already been there for several days. That night she lay asleep, dreaming on her bed. The door creaked open with a shadow entering in. The shadow walked around until standing two feet next to her bed, he smiled watching her dream. She turned her body his direction, moving her body wormishly around to get comfy, she got the right position smiling in her sleep. It was Heath. Heath's fingers softly stroked her cheek. She was so peaceful in her sleep, calm and frozen in her appearance. She was even more beautiful when awake, when she was happy and beaming with life. Being a king sized bed he laid beside, careful not to wake her up. The rope was a barrier but there was more than enough room. He rest at her side for the remaining of the night with his arm wrapped around her.

Waking up alone, she ignored the blue guys advice. No way was she waiting two weeks, motionless. Naomi sat up, straightening her back. All her bones cracked. Her bones had become her very own musical instruments; she needed to move. She needed to get out.

Hours drifted on slowly, how painful to sit there unable to move her legs or arms. Just sit almost paralyzed with no company or entertainment to pass time other than the dreaded ticking clock in the background. Some could say it was unbearable. She couldn’t say anything, no one to say it to. Or talk. Nothing even to listen to from boredom in the background but that ticking clock, the rest was silent. Nothing to gaze into. Just to sit. Sitting... Sitting... Sitting... The saying ‘I’d rather watch paint dry’ was an understatement. Anything would have been better than this.

Eventually, after long waiting, to what had seemed a life time, Heath came in with a plate of food.

“You must be starving” he emphasized walking up to her, trying to feed her. Her mouth didn’t open, and her pale blue eyes hadn’t looked up yet, instead set on looking down on the bed.

How could he do this to me? She thought. Wasn’t boyfriends meant to play the saving role? Not the ‘hey, you met my pal, Dracula? Well since you’re here in his castle with all these crazy minions around let’s just stay.’ Still, the relationship of them hadn’t exactly been established yet of what they were. A DTR wasn't in order for him but perhaps she felt she needed one. Naomi’s face remained passive and half hidden down. Her eyes shot up angrily.

“I’m sorry, OK? You must hate me and think I’m crazy but if you just wait and see, I’m trying to make an arrangement with the elders that I will be your tutor. It’s just hard because it’s not actually my job but –“. (He didn’t have one at all. Having a job was only optional if you wanted one in IKTRIBIA). Naomi told him it was too late and somebody had already been chosen. “Chosen! Chosen who?!” he outburst.

“Don’t shout at me.” Her gaze turned away from him.

“I’m sorry.” Heath lowered his voice, apologising.

Naomi could be more honest with Heath because she knew him better. She had known him for three years. Three beautiful, terrible, magical, horrible, hot years. She wouldn’t try to persuade the fish guy to let her out again in bad luck he’d take it to the authority. She didn’t want the next step. And she sure as hell didn’t want to meet them. She just wanted to get out of here with Heath and get back to her friends and her normal life. This was her last chance...

“Heath, this is kidnapping.” She tried to make him aware of the situation. She knew him and she knew sometimes he didn’t get what he was doing was wrong. This needed to be explicated.

“No, it’s saving.” He retorted in full belief.

“You’re holding me hostage.” She tried harder to explicate in him.

“You’d never be able to get out, anyway. So you’d only just end up here again except with a lot more people angry at you. I’m just saving you from the trouble.” He said.

“Well we’ll never know unless we try.” She urged.

“But –“ he hesiated, he didn’t want to let her go. Not a second time.

Naomi couldn't wait anymore or battle with him. She knew she had to get rough to make it sink through. “If you don’t untie me were through!” she yelled. She had to get it through his mind loud and clear otherwise he never would of got the gist.

Heath pulled out a black pocket knife from his pocket. All weapons were illegal in IKTRIBIA. There was no such creations as weapons, drugs, alcohol or any of that sort because they weren’t spawned. They had never been since the begining of IKTRIBIA.Those were man-made items. Not theres. For the long term stayers who had moved to and dwelled in IKTRIBIA for long periods of time, many had forgotten of contaband. Some had faint memory. Most others didn’t even know of the existence of these types of dangerous items.

Naomi remembered Heath always carried a pocket knife outside of home and on the streets from living in a much more dangerous area than Naomi. He use to tell her he used it for protection skipping out he had used times before offensively. In an uncomfortable way she was glad he still carried it around for just this moment.

“I can’t believe I’m doing this” he already regretted, untying the rope knowing the consequences. Thinning down like layers, each hair sprung off. He kept cutting into it until finally it was but a small thin thread. Naomi’s wrists and feet were free! The sudden relief was a breeze from the abatement of pressure. It was amazing. Naomi sighed in relief, rubbing her wrist. She noticed there were marks there but she hadn't struggled too hard so there was just red pressure lines that would have to be waited-out. Naomi went to jump off the bed when a sudden unnatural movement brought about a sudden dizzy filled head and fell off the bed. Stumbling back up, this time she didn't allow herself to go too quick. She decided to sit back on the bed thinking her plan through.

“I need new clothes.”

“What, why?” Heath screwed up his face.

“Because they already know what I’m wearing. Besides, I’ve been wearing this for days. I need new clothes.” I said more sternly.

Heath looked away with a sigh. “Ok” he walked out the door. Each minute he was gone she practiced walking, gathering back up her balance. It didn’t take too long. Soon Heath came back with in his hands a frumpy dress. It was long, lace necked and creamy coloured, looking like it was from the 1930’s or slightly older. Naomi looked back at Heath.

“Just use it” he said, pushing it to her.

Walking in the right hand corner of the room she stripped off her sea blue scuba diving suit. In her lycra, it was tight and shaped her body, turning Heath on. Beginning to take it off she noticed Heath was still staring. “Can you turn around” she shooed him with her hand. Heath rolled his eyes, turning around.

After finally dressing down from her lycra, she dressed up in the old-fashioned dress, twisting at the sleeves to make them smooth and not wrinkled. The bottom skirt flowed with the torso being a little tighter. She scratched the back of her head, an itch she’d wanting to give a quick scratch for hours tied up. Laying her hair both sides of her shoulders she notifide she was done by asking, “Do I look like any other?”

Heath turned around. “Well, you’re about to find out.”

“Heath, come with me.” Naomi took two steps closer, hands in front of her urging.

“What?” he gasped.

“Come back to Pateo. Escape from this place, they took you without your own free will and don’t deny that!”

“Naomi, it isn’t escaping if I love it here. I never belonged in Pateo. It’s just a dead town to me” it didn’t seem that bad to Naomi. “Plus, I’m happy here. My death opened life. Iktribia gave me options, not forcing people to get jobs, or pay tax or have so many stupid expectations like our world does. People here are different and everything’s your choice. You can just focus on life and doing whatever you want whenever you want. I can’t leave; I wasn’t made for anywhere else.”

“So you won’t come, for me?” Naomi sounded hurt.

“I don’t know the exit. No one does. Who wants to?” he made his point pretty clear. “Besides you’ll end up back here.” He shrugged.

“I don’t think so” she walked over to the door.

“Wait” he said touching her shoulder.

Naomi twisted back to Heath.

“In case you do make it, one last kiss?”
