After Christmas and New Years, things between Sirius and I had been a bit... Awkward. We would kind of just glance at each other and not really say anything unless James forced us to. We still hadn't told James what had happened on Christmas so hopefully when we do, he won't get mad.
"Hurry up!" Alice groaned, dragging me towards the Gryffindor Common Room. I caught up with her pace and walked next to her, "We've only been back for what, a day?" I mumbled as we made it to the common room and I sat down on the couch. Alice nodded, "It feels like longer." I groaned this time and tucked my legs under my bum, leaning on the arm rest.
"Can I just sleep?" I muttered as I closed my eyes. "Nope, get up." James said, laying next to me and propping his head on my knees. I sighed, "I can't if you're on me, James." He shrugged and didn't move an inch. "I've been thinking," Lily announced walking towards the three of us.
"Don't say it." I whispered to James. I -we- knew that he was probably going to say, "You're finally saying yes to me?" He huffed and sat up, glaring at me. "What is it Lily?" Alice asked, looking at James and I with an amused look. I have her a funny face before looking over at the perplexed looking Lily.
"I think... I think that there's something weird with Remus." She said quietly. I glanced quickly at James. "What do you mean?" I asked casually. She looked around the common room, "I mean that he's always sick around the full moon and the night after it he's always banged up..." She crossed her arms over her chest, "I have a feeling that he's a..." She glanced around the common room again and moved closer to us, "a werewolf." She whispered.
I looked at her, masking my amused face with shock. Leave it to Lily to figure it out. I looked to Alice who was chewing on her bottom lip, "It does make sense. I mean, I never once pictured him as a guy who has a rabbit... What if he is?" She questioned, looking at us all. James cleared his throat,
"We don't do anything-" "I wouldn't be talking, Prongs," Lily said his nickname coldly, "you're one of his best friends. You call him 'Moony'." Lily looked down quickly before looking back up at us, her eyes wide. "Oh my God...." She stood quickly and dashed out of the common room.
"James," Alice said cautiously, "is he one?" James responded with standing up abruptly and going up to the boys dorm. She looked to me, her eyes full of fear, "Oh my Merlin, Amber. I've heard so many bad things about them... But Remus, he's-he's so nice, so sweet... So smart..." She looked like she was about to cry as she looked down at her lap.
"I've been taught to stay away from them. What if he is one, Amb?" She asked me quietly, looking up at me. I shrugged my shoulders and put my hand on her shoulder, "I promise you, even if he is one, he will always be the same guy." She nodded her head and swallowed hard, "I hope."

Remus.
Remus.
Poor, poor, Remus.
He was pacing in front of the Marauders and I. He looked so concerned, so scared, I just wanted to give him a big hug and tell him everything will be okay. "What if I tell and they get scared? What if they tell everyone? What if they never come near me again? What if-" "Stop rambling, Remus!" I cut him off, yelling over his frets. He looked over at me glaring, something Remus hardly ever does, "Thanks for that, Ember, but right now I'm really stressed out. Everyone HATES werewolves." He growled, punching his bedpost.
"We obviously don't." Sirius pointed out. He turned his glare into Sirius, "Don't start." Remus groaned. He sat on his bed and ran his fingers through his messy hair, "What if they hate me?" He asked quietly, staring up at me, and only me, like a child. I knelt in front of him and grasped his hands, "Remus, they won't hate you. You are a very sweet, amazing, caring guy. They will definitely see past your problem-" he ripped his hands from mine and I stood, stepping away, "And if they don't?" He growled again, "What if they think I'm a monster, call me a monster... I couldn't handle it, Amber, not from her especially." His voice cracked and I knew who he was talking about.
Alice. He really liked Alice. I was speechless and sat down on the bed across from him. He's right, though. What if they.... No, her best friends would never... Would they? James sat next to Remus as he stared at me like I held all the answers. James patted Remus' back,
"Listen, we know Lily and Alice. They wouldn't call you a monster. They would except you." Remus turned his caramel eyes to James and Sirius', "Really?"
Sirius' face lit up with a ghost of a smile, "Of course." He looked to me and nodded towards the door as James started to talk to Remus about how to tell Lily and Alice. I stood, throwing the two a quick smile before leaving their dorm room, Sirius right behind me. "We really need to talk." He informed me, grabbing my wrist and dragging me down the stairs, out of the common room, and to the Kitchens.
Though I found this weird, I stayed silent the whole time. I... I trusted him. We got to the portrait and Sirius tickled the pear, causing it to giggle and squirm. The pear turned into a handle and I grasped it, opening it up. I hopped in, followed by Sirius.
We were bombarded by House Elves, all with bulging different coloured eyes. I lost my footing after one appeared right in front of me and I staggered backwards, right into Sirius. I let out a laugh as he straightened me. "Can I have two butterbeers?" Sirius asked one of the House Elves. It had bright blue eyes, a long pointy nose and huge bat like ears. The other house elves scattered away, while the elf stayed behind, smiling wide at us.
"Henley will get Mr Black and Ms Potter two butterbeers!" It squeaked. I giggled as it disappeared and Sirius led me to the huge Fireplace. We sat in front of it, facing each other. "So..." I started. He smirked, "You want to know what I want to talk about?" I nodded. Henley appeared next to Sirius and was holding two big glasses full of butterbeer. We thanked him-or-her and we sat in silence -well as much silence there is when the House Elves are working- and just drank out drinks.
"I wanted to talk about us." I almost chocked on the butterbeer. I nodded my head, "Okay.... so.... what is it?" He looked nervous. Sirius Black is never nervous. "Well, um..." he rubbed the back of his head and took a large gulp of his butterbeer. "I wanted to know if... you would like to go out with me?" My heart leaped. HE WANTED ME AS HIS GIRLFRIEND. I cleared my throat and nodded my head, "Oh, of course!" He grinned and pulled me up, giving me a big hug. "I've liked you for so long." he murmured against my hair.
I giggled and released him, "Me too." We were about kiss but the portrait opened and the House Elves ran past us. I heard Alice and Lily. I looked up at Sirius and he glanced down at me. They were going to ask us. We parted from each other and cleared our throats as Alice and Lily saw us. They ran towards us, accusing looks on their faces. "What are you two doing here?" I glanced quickly at Sirius and made up a random lie on the spot, "Well, I didn't eat much at dinner so I asked Sirius to bring me down to get food." Lily and Alice glanced at each other.
"Fine, but we will find out the truth." I nodded my head to Lily's threatening words and grabbed Sirius' arm, dragging him out. "That was eventful." I muttered as he walked me to my common room. "Very." he smirked over at me. I rolled my eyes, "Do you want to keep this a secret?" I asked him quietly. He gave me a hug as we neared the common room, "We'll see how it works out." I nodded my head and kissed him before waving and going into my common room. I was smiling like an idiot.
