I yawned as Adrian and I walked into our first period class. I looked up and saw we had another substitute. Mr. Wellington hasn't been to class for the past few weeks, ever since that encounter we had in the alley. Maybe I scared him off? I'm not that scary, am I? Nah, he's probably a lazy teacher. I didn't even know they could take this much time off. I sat down in my seat, and dozed off as the bell rang.
"Marni?" someone whispered.
They poked me in the side and my eyes snapped open. I looked at the clock and saw that class was almost over. I must've fallen asleep.
"Hey, sleeping beauty," Adrian laughed.
"Hi, what'd I miss prince charming?" I yawned.
"Nothing, we just read the whole class," he shrugged.
"Oh, ok," I said.
I laid my head back down. A little while later the bell rang. I groaned and stood up, grabbing my bag. Off to second period!
I sat in second period impatiently, waiting for the lunch bell to ring.
"Calm down, Marns!" Ren laughed.
"She's hungry," Justin shrugged.
"Nice one, captain obvious," I rolled my eyes.
"My job here is done!" Justin saluted.
Ren chuckled and shook her head next to me.
"Ding ding!" the bell rung.
"Yes! Food!" I screamed.
Justin and Ren laughed at me. What? I'm hilarious. I walked towards the table where Jeremy and Adrian sat. Justin left and walked over to his table of friends.
"Hey Marnabebe, Ren," Jeremy greeted.
"Hey Jer!" I said.
"Hi," Ren smiled.
"Hey babe," Adrian smiled at me.
"Hi," I grinned.
"Babe?" Jeremy looked between us.
"Yes, they're dating," Ren giggled.
"I don't come to school for a few days and this is what I miss?" Jeremy exclaimed.
"Yup," I nodded.
"So she knows?" Jeremy whispered to Adrian.
"Yeah, she knows," Adrian nodded.
"And she didn't flip out on you? Wait does Serenity know too?" Jeremy continued to whisper.
"They both know, Jer," Adrian laughed.
"How are they not freaking out?" Jeremy said.
"Cause I'm not human either," I shrugged.
"I am!" Ren said.
"Wait, what are you?" Jeremy asked me.
"A witch," I smiled.
"So you knew I was a vampire too?" he asked.
"Yup," I nodded.
"So Ren, how are you taking this?" Jeremy asked.
"Pretty well actually," she said.
"She's a Blue Blood," I whispered.
I wasn't sure if there were any wolves from Jarrod here.
"Ah, so she's in danger I'm guessing?" Jeremy said.
"Yeah pretty much," I nodded.
"Well I've missed a lot," Jeremy frowned.
"YOU BITCH!" a voice screeched.
I looked over and saw Ariana walking over here. She looked pissed off, she was glaring at me and her nostrils were flared. She slammed her fist down on the table. I smirked at her.
"Hey Ariana," I greeted.
"How can you steal Adrian from me?" she screamed.
"Well technically, I didn't steal him from you. You guys never dated," I pointed out.
"Adri, she probably hypnotized you or something," Ariana whined.
"Shut up," Adri muttered.
"And besides, once she finds out what you really are, she won't stay with you," Ariana gave me a sly grin.
"I already know," I glared at her.
"What?! You could get killed Adrian!" Ariana whisper yelled.
"Who said I'm human though?" I shrugged.
"Then what the hell are you?" she poked my shoulder hard.
"Wouldn't you like to know," I smirked.
"I never have popcorn when I need it!" Jeremy exclaimed.
Everyone's heads snapped over at Jeremy.
"Carry on," he said.
"You're not a vampire, so what are you?" Ariana narrowed her eyes at me.
"Not a bitch, that's for sure," I said.
"You're not a wolf are you? They smell," she scrunched her nose.
"Nope," I shook my head.
"Just tell me what you are!" she said with frustration.
"A witch," I raised a brow.
"Oh, a little witch," she smirked.
"Oh, a bitchy vampire," I countered.
"So you know about me?" she asked.
"No shit. I knew the first day I met you," I rolled my eyes.
"Ah, when I my hand connected with your face?" she laughed.
"Yeah, pretty much," I nodded.
"You admitted that I owned you?" she raised a brow.
"No, I admitted that you hit me. Besides, I could own you any day," I stated.
"How? I'm over 100 years old!"
"You just admitted you were old," I pointed out.
"Shut up! At least I'm stronger than you!" she yelled.
Heads turned our way. They looked at us with curiosity. I stood up and leaned towards Ariana, our faces inches apart.
"Look here bitch, that's where you're wrong. I'd fucking kick your butt any day. You're not the only one over 100 years old," I spat at her.
Her eyes widened,
"That's impossible, no witch can live to be a 100," she scoffed.
"Well you better believe it," I smirked.
She stood there speechless. She obviously didn't know witches could live this long with the help of magic. I gave her a sly grin and sat back down. Adrian looked at us with amused eyes. Jeremy and Ren looked like they would burst out laughing any minute.
"You can leave now," I told Ariana.
"I'll leave when I want!" she screamed.
Just then, the bell rang.
"Which will be now," I smiled innocently.
"Whatever, bitch!" she yelled.
She stomped her foot and turned walking away.
"Good job Marns!" Ren said.
"That's my Marnabebe!" Jeremy said.
Jeremy high fived me and I laughed.
"That was nothing guys. If we weren't at school I'd rip her face off," I shrugged.
"No need to be violent, babe," Adrian whispered.
"Whatever," I mumbled.
I stood up gathering my trash. I walked over to a near by trash can and threw it away. I grabbed my bag and said my good byes and headed to class.
"Hey Justy!" I waved.
"Hey Marns," he greeted.
Even though I was dating Adri, I still got a ride from Justin. Besides, Adrian was always in a rush to get home for some reason. Whenever I brought it up, he told me not to worry.
"Ready?" Justin asked.
"Yeah," I nodded. "Can you drop me off at the bar?"
"Sure," he nodded.
I slid in the passenger seat, buckling the seat belt. I stared out the window until we reached the bar. After about 10 minutes or so, we made it to the bar.
"Do you need a ride later?" Justin asked.
"Nope, I can walk."
"Really? Didn't know you could do that," Justin laughed.
"I can, actually," I smiled.
"Ok, see you later," he said.
"Bye!" I waved. "Try not to miss me."
"Ew, why would I miss you?"
"Ouch," I gasped.
He laughed and waved. I waved back and he drove off. I opened the door and walked into Astar Teens. I sat down on a stool and ordered a coke. As I waited, I looked around the room and spotted a familiar blond.
"Jarrod!" I waved.
"Why if it isn't the witch," he chuckled.
"Shh! Don't expose my secret," I whispered.
"They wouldn't believe you," he shrugged.
"So I can scream to the world that you're a wolf?" I crossed my arms.
"Sure," he said.
"Well if I did that then I'd expose myself too. So I'll pass."
"Thought so," he smirked.
"So what are you doing here?" I asked.
"Drinking beer?" he raised a brow.
"Isn't this a bar for teens?" I asked curiously.
"They sell you beer if you're over 21," he said.
"What?! Since when?"
"Since forever?"
"Oh. Well I'm technically over 21 so..." I trailed off.
"You need ID, idiot," he said.
"I know that!" I whined.
"Well it was nice chatting with you, but I have a Blue Blood to take," he stood up.
"So you're not going to fight me or anything?" I asked.
"No," he raised a brow.
"You're better than Caleb! He'd kill me right on the spot," I shook my head.
"I see you two are becoming best friends."
"Yup, best friends forever man!" I grinned.
"I'll make sure to tell him that," he chuckled.
"Ok," I smiled.
He gave me a half wave and walked out. I sipped my coke, tapping my finger on the counter. So if Jarrod said he was going to take Ren now, should I probably be going home? Eh, I'll just text her. I came here to think. I know I said I had a plan when I first learned about Ren being a Blue Blood, but it's not going the way I planned. At first I thought that they wouldn't attack until the full moon since they were strongest then, but that obviously didn't happen. They're even tough now without the moon!
"Dammit," I muttered to myself.
I paid for my drink and walked out. I decided to take the alley way. Interesting things happen in alleys all the time, right? I suddenly saw a dark figure in the corner. I turned, but it disappeared. I eyed it suspiciously and kept walking. I could sense someone following. I tried to get a glance of them out of the corner of my eye. It was a man. I stopped and turned around. He disappeared again. I sighed and kept walking. If he didn't leave me the hell alone, he's going to be in deep shit. I heard his footsteps getting closer. I quickly turned around and sent him crashing into a wall. That was probably a bad idea, if he was a human I was screwed.
"You're a strong little witch, aren't you?" he asked.
He stood up and dusted himself off. He had short dark brown hair, and bright blue eyes. I eyed him suspiciously. My eyes widened. He looked familiar.
"Who are you?" I asked.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" he smirked.
