Enjoy :)

Asami rose that morning feeling content and we'll rested. Sitting up in bed, the princess rubbed the sleep from her eyes. Asami looked at Korra's bed. She was surprised to find it made and empty.

Where could she have gone off to??.

Asami pulled the covers back and slipped out of bed. She walked over to where her robe was hung up. She took it off the hook on the wall and slipped it on. Suddenly the door to her personal bathroom opened. Asami turned to it.

Korra came out. When she saw Asami, she smiled and said, "Good morning, your highness. Sleep well??".

Asami felt her knees slightly buckle.

That smile. It was a kind and gentle one. A genuine, white toothy smile that Korra didn't have to give her. That smile could probably melt a cold heart.

Asami nearly forgot to reply. She smiled back.

"Yes, thank you. Did you sleep well??".

Korra nodded. "Yes".

Korra walked up to Asami.

"I drew your bath for you".

Asami was then reminded of the harsh reality. She had a servant now. A person that she would have to force to do things for her. Someone that would be doing all physical work for her.

Asami nodded. "Thank you, Korra".

"Your father said to tell you that you will start having breakfast in bed from now on. I'll be bringing it to you every morning".

Asami wasn't expecting that.

"Oh um. Alright then".

Korra turned and headed towards the door.

"Korra".

Korra looked over her left shoulder at Asami.

"Yes??".

"I wanted to make sure that you don't think of me as a spoiled lazy princess who likes to boss someone around all day. I'm not like that".

Korra smiled. "I know, your highness. Anyway, it's not my job to judge you. It's my job to serve you".

Korra then walked out of the room. Asami stood there, thinking. She hated this while thing. Why would anyone want to be a servant??. Especially when their freedom is basically nonexistent.

Asami sighed. She headed towards her bathroom. A nice bath should lift her mood.
---------------

Asami was starting to go crazy over the silence. The only noise in the large bedroom was the clanking of fork and knife on the plate.

Scrabble eggs and sausage on the side. Asami's favorite breakfast.

As she ate, Asami couldn't help but glance at Korra every so often. The servant girl was cleaning and dusting anything and everything. Asami guessed it was to keep her busy.

Asami looked down at her plate. She wondered if Korra was hungry. The princess remembered Korra telling her and her friends that servants ate only at the end of the day. That was so stupid.

Asami looked at Korra. Korra was dusting her bookshelf. She could see Korra secretly reading the covers of each books. Asami didn't mind it one bit. She girl was curious.

Asami liked that. She put aside her tray and stood up. Korra must be noticed and looked at her.

Asami casually walked up to her. Korra stopped dusting. Asami came up to her, smiling.

"So Korra-".

She was cut off as she heard the door opening. Both of them turned to see Asami's father walk in.

"Dad", Asami said, surprised to see her dad come to her room for once.

Asami looked at Korra was bowed lowly.

"Your Majesty", she said.

Hiroshi paid no attention to Korra.

"Asami", he said. "Come now. Prince Iroh is here".

Asami mentally rolled her eyes. She kept her mouth shut to avoid an argument this early in the morning.

"Alright".

Hiroshi looked at Korra. He gave her a nasty look.

"What are you looking at??", he snapped. "Make yourself useful and go sweep and scrub the floor in the hall".

Asami was appalled. She was watched Korra's face turn to slight fear.

"I'm sorry. Right away, your Majesty".

Korra scurried out in the hallway, closing the door behind her.

Asami looked at her dad.

"Don't talk to her that way", she said. "She didn't deserve that".

Hiroshi looked at her with a careless yet hard expression.

"She is just a servant. I can say what I want to her, Asami and so can you. She'll live. Now C'mon. Iroh is waiting".

Asami nodded. She and her dad walked out of the room. Asami mentally groaned.

This was not going to be fun.
-----------------------

Asami resisted the urge to roll her eyes. She nodded in fake interest as Iroh told his story.

Iroh grinned. "Everyone came to congratulate me. It was great".

"Impressive", Asami lied.

The two had just come back from their lunch meal outside. Asami spent most of the day listening to his interesting stories and jokes. Iroh was sweet and quite a gentleman. But Asami would rather be outside in her pegasus or laying on the grass.

Now they were wandering the halls, talking.

Iroh sighed in content. "Yes. But enough about me. Tell me about you".

Asami smiled. "Well. I love to be outside, going for a ride with my friends. I love to read so I'd probably be reading up on history or reading an adventure book.

Iroh smiled. "You like adventure??".

Asami nodded. "I love the outdoors and getting my hands dirty".

"Oh".

Oh??.

Asami frowned. "You're not into that kind of thing??", she asked.

Iroh shook his head. "Not really. I'm more of a indoor, clean fellow".

Asami knew it. They couldn't click. She knew it wouldn't work out.

"There's nothing wrong with that".

Asami looked ahead. She smiled when she saw Korra. The girl was scrubbing the floor.

When they neared her, Iroh looked at Asami.

"I didn't know you had servants", he said.

Asami nodded.

Iroh stopped and looked down at Korra. Korra wiped her forehead with the back of her hand. Her clothes and hands were dirty from working. Asami could only guess what chores Korra had done while they were gone.

Korra looked up at them.

"Hello, your highness", she said. "Do you need anything??".

Asami smiled. "No, but thanks".

Then she remembered Iroh.

"Oh", she added. "This is prince Iroh from the fire nation".

Korra stood up. She bowed to Iroh.

"It's an honor to meet you, your highness", she said.

Asami looked at Iroh. She saw a look of utter disgust on his face.

"Who said you could talk??", he asked, obviously being a stuck up prick. "You have no right to speak to me, you filthy low life".

Asami felt her blood boil at the comment. She tried her best to keep herself in check.

Iroh pushed Korra aside as he walked on. Korra stumbled back. The next thing she knew, she was flat on her back and water was everywhere.

"Korra", Asami said, rushing to her aside, ignoring a laughing Iroh.

She knelt down beside her.

She helped her sit up. Korra looked at her.

"Your highness. You'll ruin your dress".

Asami rolled her eyes. "I have magic, remember??. I can manage".

Korra looked at herself. She heard Iroh laughing at her.

"Well what a great first day this is turning out to be", she said sarcastically.

"Here", Asami said. "Take my hand".

Asami reached and took her hands. Asami felt a tingling feeling shoot up her arms. It felt strange.

"You don't have to", Korra said.

"It's the least I can do", Asami said.

"Asami", Iroh spoke up. "Why are you touching her??. She doesn't deserve your kindness".

Asami looked at Korra. The girl stared back at her, humiliation written all over her face, along with the soapy water that had splashed all over her.

"Of course she deserves kindness", Asami said.

She helped Korra to her feet.

"Are you ok??", she asked.

Korra nodded. "I'm alright, your highness. Thank you".

Asami looked at Iroh with hard eyes.

"It's you that doesn't deserve kindness".

Iroh was taken back by her words. Asami walked up to him.

"You laugh and mock a stranger just because your status over them??. That's shallow".

Asami glared at him.

"Which is not the kind of person I want to marry. Leave".

Iroh was appalled.

"She's a slave!!. How could you take her side??. She doesn't mean anything to you or anyone else for that matter. She's nothing".

"You don't know that", Asami snapped. "She's kind and a good genuine person from what I've seen since she got here. How dare you say something so rude and degrading about someone".

Asami pointed down the hall.

"Go before I turn you into a rabbit and feed you to the griffins".

Iroh was pissed. He glared at Korra before walking away.

They watched him walk away. Once he turned the corner, Asami's attention was once again back to Korra.

Korra was shivering, her arms wrapped around her wet body. She looked at Asami.

"Thank you, your highness".

She looked around at the mess.

"I should clean this up before someone sees and gets me in trouble".

Asami placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Let me".

Asami snapped her fingers. The water, the rag, and the bucket dissappeared. Korra looked at her silently.

"C'mon", Asami said. "Let's get you warm and dry".
----------------------

Korra looked down at her clothes. Korra had changed into spare clothes she had with her. Asami has helped dry her off, ignoring all protests from the blue eyed girl.

Asami smiled.

"Feel better??".

Korra nodded. "Yes. Thank you, your highness".

Korra grabbed her new apron off her bed and tied it around her waist. She turned to Asami.

"I should probably get back to my chores and get out of your way", she said.

Asami smiled. "Actually, I enjoy being with you. Come here".

Korra walked up to her, a surprised look on her face.

"You do??".

Asami sat down on her bed.

"Of coarse. You're nice and I feel happy around you".

Korra smiled shyly. Asami patted the bed.

"Sit down".

Korra gave her a look.

"Your highness. You know I can't. Servants can't-".

"Why not??".

Asami was fed up with all the limitations for servants and the terrible treatment towards them. She should be able to sit down with her own servant and have a friendly conversation with such person whenever she pleased.

"Why is the world so against servants and why does everyone walk all over you and push you around??".

Korra was about to answer when there was a knock on the door. Asami mentally screamed.

"Come in".

The door opened. A guard came in. He bowed.

"Your father sent me", he said. "It's time for your lessons and your teacher is waiting".

Asami had forgotten about that. She nodded. "Thank you. I'll be right there".

The guard bowed and then left.

Asami stood up. She looked at Korra

"We'll talk about this some other day", she said.

"Yes, your highness", Korra said.

Asami turned and walked out of the room, Korra not far behind. Asami couldn't help but think of Korra. The sweet blue eyes girl clouded her thoughts. Asami felt a need to protect her.

She knew Korra was an physically strong, independent person. She didn't need anyone to protect her if she ever got into into a brawl. But in this world where servants were treated like dirt and mocked and pushed around like slaves, Korra needed protection from it all, whether she admitted or not.

She was alone in this world, without a friend to talk to or protect her from others and the constant attacks.

Asami was going to be the friend she needed. And no, she didn't care that if it wasn't allowed. She was the princess so she did whatever she wanted.

So yeah. Comment what you think :)
