A/N IMPORTANT MESSAGE: just saying that this book will be based around Ash and Serena being 16. This is the age Ash is actually estimated to be -if he wasn't still ten:(.This is an alternate ending so not all the events that happen in the anime happen in this book. The current day in this book is the day that Serena leaves for Hoenn and Ash leaves for Kanto. So the kiss hasn't happened yet! There's one more important scene that leads to this happening and you will see it next chapter.

_______________________________________________________

"I can't leave." He said.

"I can't leave this power." He said.

"I can't leave this opportunity." He said.

"I can't leave you."

My crush looked into his Pokemon's eyes with an immeasurable intensity. Although this was all directed at what remained of his team, and I was just ease dropping, the words still made fireworks of happiness go off inside. The conversation still warmed my heart and unraveled the tightness in my chest. I exhaled a breath of relief.

Ash wasn't leaving.

I was currently peering through a bush, watching as Ash tried to make an important decision. It was all under Bonnie's command. She insisted. But I agreed. Honestly, the curiosity was eating me from the inside. This decision would determine my life. Maybe that was stretching it a little but, in that moment, it felt like my life was on the line.

Ash had been deciding wether he wanted to stay in Kalos or leave for Kanto again. He was deciding wether he wanted to follow his dream or put it on hold. Wether he wanted to leave me, or stay.

Every decision that Ash made always circled around his Pokemon. He didn't have many ambitions for anything els, that I could tell. I just hoped his Pokemon in Kalos were enough to make him stay. I could never be enough. It hurt like someone was slowly dragging a knife through my heart. But I was willing to ignore it for him.

His raven hair was in its usual windswept state, a masterpiece in it's self. His signature hat shadowed half his face but the rest of his skin was the perfect shade of caramel and his hazel eyes shone with admiration. Nothing seemed more perfect to me, not that I would ever openly admit it to anyone.

He glanced my way and in a sudden panic, I stumbled backwards. Clumsily, I tripped over my feet and ended up on the floor. There was a small ache coming from my tail bone but my main concern was Ash's reaction. I winced at both the pain and my idiocy.

My crush peered through the bush I was spying from, furrowed eye brows and concerned frown. Sheepishly, I smiled as his eyes landed on me, embarrassment flushing my cheeks pink. When he saw me, his face lit up and he laughed hysterically. My cheeks turned crimson but I couldn't help but bask in his laughter. I loved his laugh.

"Serena? Are you alright?" He managed eventually.

"I think so." I mumbled as I got up and brushed myself off. The flamboyant, pink dress I wore was still untouched and there was minimal dirt on my red, sleeveless overcoat. When I looked up my eyes met with some hazel ones that were much closer than expected. My instinct was to jump back but I couldn't quite bring myself to do so. It was like my feet were glued to the spot.

I should, I needed to step back. But Ash didn't move, so neither did I. My main concern was keeping my now staggering breathing in tack.

"What are you doing here?" He tilted his head at me.

Oh crap. What was I meant to say? I couldn't tell him I was spying on him. Honestly I was surprised he hadn't figured it out already. But I knew Ash and sometimes he was as dense as a rock.

"Um...I was...coming to see if you were okay." Was about the best excuse I could come up with. It wasn't very good, pathetic even, but I was never any great at improvisation. What a loser I was to spy on him. Remind me never to listen to Bonnie again.

"Don't worry, I'm okay." He smiled, a hint of sadness in it. I loved his smile.

"Have you decided what you are going to do?" I looked down at the ground, to ashamed to make eye contact.

Ash looked back over to where he was standing before I interrupted. His eyes lingered on each member of his team who were still patiently waiting for their trainer. Pikachu jumped onto the large bat Pokemon's shoulder and settled there like it did on Ash. Hazel eyes went hard, an intensive look filled them.

"Yes" he exclaimed, turning back to me. His face was a new level of unreadable. I began to question what I heard before. Maybe Ash would leave. Slowly, I nodded, too scared to do anything els.

Quickly, Ash went back into the bushes, collecting Pikachu onto his shoulder and returning the rest to their Pokeballs.

"Come on, let's go find Clemont and Bonnie." He gestured, taking my wrist. I would have rather he intwined his fingers in mine but the simple touch was enough. My skin tingled where his hand coiled around my wrist. A small smile crept up my lips.

He lead me through the bushes and into a small park on the suburbs of Lumiose City. Trees littered the acre and flowers bloomed in every corner. There was a fresh pine smell to the place and it was all flooded with sunlight. The day was beautiful with a slight breeze that ruffled my gold locks.

Lumiose City was still recovering from the Zygarde incident but overall, everyone was overjoyed the terrible time was over. Many were still in shock. To be honest, so was I. Nothing had really hit me yet; especially not the idea of Ash leaving.

Clemont and his younger sister were perched on one of the park benches, quietly discussing something. Things had been tense between the group for the past twenty four hours. Everyone needed time to prepare for potential goodbyes. I couldn't say goodbye. I needed years to prepare myself for that. But some day I knew would have to push through it.

Oh come on Serena, you're a big girl now, you can do it. I mentally frowned at myself.

Bonnie's head perked up when she heard us approaching. She bit her lip nervously and jumped up with an uncontrollable anticipation. Clemont looked concentrated as he looked down at the bench. Ash stood in front of them, and I not far from his side. Ash studied the siblings, his eyes scanning them over and drinking them in.

"I'm..." He started and I felt the tightness in my stomach return. "I'm staying."

It's funny how just one phrase can give so much happiness. Everything seemed to relax and a weight lifted off my shoulders. The clarification was all I needed. Bonnie lifted her arms in the air with joy and Clemont blew out a breath of relief. Without thinking, I turned to Ash and hugged him. Once I realized what I'd done, my cheeks turned bright red but I still clung to him. At first, Ash was ridged but soon he sunk into my embrace.

"I'm glad you're happy Serena." His breath fanned across the side of my face and tingled the skin. Soon I reminded myself that I needed to let go. I pulled back and looked down at the ground, embarrassed.

Ash was too oblivious to notice.

Instead, he turned back to Clemont and Bonnie with a new born smile on his face. I was so glad to see he was happy, I never would have wanted him to regret his decision to stay.

"What do we do now?" Clemont asked. Actually, that was a good question. No one had really thought what we might do after the Kalos league was over. Ash didn't need anymore gym badges. There was no where to go. No where other than my show cases, but I simply couldn't tie my friends to that.

Ash's loss at the Kalos league was tragic and  simply unexpected. The only thing that set it a side from all his other losses was how close within his reach it was. I was scared he would be powered with a new adrenaline and head straight for the next region. But instead he was hesitant. He was filled with worry, concern and...desire to stay. Then there was also one more factor to acknowledge: Greninja. An anomaly like no other, one that would only happen once in centuries. Ash felt obliged to stick with him. How could someone be selfish enough to disregard such a gift? Obliviously not Ash. It just wasn't in his nature.

But what happened with that was a story for later. Of course Greninja wasn't with us anymore but some how he was still a major factor. I wasn't surprised though.

"Umm...we could stay in Lumiose City for a bit. Clemont could take care of his gym and Ash can do some training. There are also a lot of great boutiques I would love to go to. There isn't another master class show case for two weeks so we have time." I suggested. It was the only thing I could think of.

"We can all stay in my house, that sounds good to me." Clemont replied, a smile now replacing his frown.

"Me too." Ash nodded.

"Hey Clemont, the annual beginners league is next week! We can't miss it. We go every year." Bonnie exclaimed. I had heard about the annual beginners league but had never been to it. Apparently it was really good.

"Oh yes, we can certainly go see that Bonnie." Clemont reassured his sister.

"What's the beginners league?" Ash scratched the back of his neck, confused.

"Don't worry, I'll tell you." The little blond girl chirped before grabbing Ash's wrist and dragging him towards Lumiose City. Clemont and I exchanged briefs looks before shrugging and following the duo out of the park.

(new character)

A great door loomed before me, at least 5 feet taller than what I stood. The wood made intricate patterns and swirls that I admired. My knuckles hovered over it, a little hesitant to knock. The second that door opened I could be anyone I wanted to be. No one knew who I was. I could be a queen. I could be a champion. I could be a-

"Hurry up and knock already." Moaned a boy beside me. Internally, I groaned before turning to glare at my brother. Aron stood with his arms crossed, a look of boredom and impatience on his face.

Meet Aron, my younger brother. Don't be fooled though, he may have been a full two years younger than me but he still stood five inches taller. Not that I was short, he was  just exceptionally tall. We shared the same teal-green eyes and dirty blonde hair. Aron and I often seemed as different as left and right, north and south, but in the end we still loved each other. Aron had a large build to compliment his height, a big boy overall. But his eyes could be as cold as ice when he was irritated. Or simply wanted to annoy me.

I glared at Aron and he glared straight back. We were practiced and professional and neither wavered. It was if we were clawing at each other just through our eyes. If we weren't out in public I might of hit him. Scratch that, I definitely would have hit him. He ruined a perfectly good moment for me. Dumb idiot.

"If neither of you are going to knock, then I will." Came the voice of my second companion. The other brother, so to speak. I rolled my eyes and turned to Leon with an equally as fearful glare. Meet Aron's twin, Leon. Unlike his other half, Leon was short and skinny. A pip-squeak that was easily breakable. I wouldn't hesitate to hit him. Though small, Leon was tough and as much as I hated to admit it, full of endurance. He dealt with my and Aron's bulling on a daily basis. It must have sucked to be the smallest sibling. He wasn't about to give up his tile of being the most annoying person on earth though. So there was blame to share.

Like Aron and I, Leon had teal-green eyes and dirty blonde hair. He wore a jacket over a sleeveless top and track suit trousers. You could say he was the kind of boy that made every girl fall head over heals. His smile was award winning and his jaw line sharp. The freckles on his cheeks gave him character and he still stood confident, despite being exceptionally close to a beating.

Actually, Leon wasn't particularly short. In fact, he was average for his age but he was often shadowed by his brother.

"I was going to knock you know?" I raised an eyebrow at Leon.

"Not within this century you weren't." He noted before tapping the door twice with his knuckle.

"You couldn't have waited two more seconds?"

"No."

"You're so impatient."

"You're so impatient."

"Are you copying me?"

"Are you copying me?"

"I'm going to kill you, one more word and you're dead."

"Word."

"Have fun with a mouth full of fist." I cracked my knuckles and formed a fist.

"Have fun with a mouth full of fist."

"That's it!"

"Excuse me!" A feminine voice interrupted. Immediately, I dropped my fist and turned to the now open door. A woman with blue hair stood in the door way. She was draped in a lab coat and held a clip board in one hand. Red spectacles rested on the bridge of her nose. He voice was soft like honey and she seemed nice. Despite this, nervousness coiled in the pit of my stomach. You see, this was the fist time I had met someone I wasn't related to. I had lived my whole life isolated from the rest of Kalos, in a house in the middle of the woods. We never had visitors, my parents wouldn't allow that. Nothing that could possibly put us in danger. Nothing like Pokemon.

This was my first time away from home. To say the least, I wasn't very good talking to strangers. I didn't even know if I was good talking to strangers. I had never talked to a stranger! Taking a deep breath, I managed a smile.

"Are you here to become Pokemon trainers?" The lady asked, a smile appearing on her face. Her skin was milky white and each feature looked fragile. Her eyes matched the color of her hair and she scanned us while waiting for an answer.

"Umm...yes. We are here to see Professor Sycamore." I said unsurely. Obviously I had done my research before starting my journey away from home. My brothers and I had been planning this for years. Of course the hardest part was convincing our parents of the idea. They could be awfully stubborn at times.

"Well then, follow me right this way." The lady smiled, taking a step back to allows us through the door. "Welcome to Professor Sycamore's research labs."

One by one, we proceeded into a large hallway decorated head to toe in rich, dark wood and crimson carpets. Large curtains draped from the equally massive windows and books were stacked high on the endless rows of book shelfs. The walls were painted a deep blue and much of the room was decorated with gold accents. Over all quite an exquisite look. My mouth hung agape at the spacious room and high ceilings. I had never seen anything so beautiful. To be honest, the only grand entrance I had ever seen was the one in my own house, and if I was being truthful, it was not the most jaw-dropping of rooms. As I said, we never had visitors.

The room was an eery quiet and the only noise to be heard were the tapping of our feet. My brothers and I trailed behind the lady like lost puppies deeper into the mansion. Nothing seemed like a research lab to me but I was yet to see the rest of it.

"Professor Sycamore!" The blue haired woman cried out into the empty air. Her voiced bounced off the walls and echoed back to us. "Some teenagers are here to see you!"

We waited a few seconds in the desolate silence. I paused mid step in anticipation of an answer.

"Yes, I'm coming Sophie!" A male voice rang, coming from one of the many corridors branching out of the grand entrance. I could hear his fast paced feet approaching and soon he appeared in front of us. He was tall and dressed in a similar lab coat to his colleague. His unruly, black hair was thick and sprung out in random places. The professor's eyes were a hard grey with a shimmer in them. "Welcome to my research labs." He greeted, now joining our cluster. "I'm professor Sycamore, and who might you be?"

"I'm Aron and this is my twin Leon." My brother gestured to himself then his twin.

"And I'm Elaina, the older sister." I smiled, holding out a hand for him to shake. He took it graciously with a firm grasp.

"Nice to meet you. I'm under the impression you are here to get your first Pokemon."

"Yes we are." Leon piped in.

"Thats great. You seem older than the usual people I cater to, if you don't mind me asking, why did you take so long to come here?" His voice was deep yet soft. Soothing to me. I bit my lip, not sure wether I should go into my life story or not. Maybe he would pity me. I didn't want him to pity me. But I was never good at improvisation. So my options were limited. In the end I sighed and decided to just tell him.

"Well, my brothers and I grew up away from any civilization. Our parents raised us in a house deep in the woods of Kalos. They believe that Pokemon are dangerous creatures. They didn't want to raise kids in such a harmful environment. So they hid us from them. But you can't hide anything forever.

Soon we found out about the existence of Pokemon and though our parents tried to sway our views towards theirs, we couldn't help but be fascinated by them. Instead of condemning them, we welcomed them. At first our parents were furious. But no matter how hard they tried, our views wouldn't change. Then my parents started buying us books. Books introduced us to the real world. I found out more about Pokemon and read stories of trainers. It soon became my dream to become a Pokemon trainer. We gathered encyclopedias and fact books about them, anything we could find.

Often I would sit hours by the fence that separated my backyard from the forest, waiting for a Pokemon to cross. I had only ever seen small glimpses of them and every one I cherished. One day I came across a biography of a recent Pokemon master. He described how he started his long journey when he was a kid. He talked about how he set off within his region to win gym badges and how he travelled, just him and his Pokemon, his sole focus on becoming great. After that I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I wanted to start my journey of becoming great and travel around my region.

It took a lot of persuasion to get on this journey. When I first mentioned the idea to my parents, they laughed and told me a straight up no. But I wasn't finished yet. After my brothers decided to join my campaign, we spent hours upon hours arguing with our parents. That was the point when our relationship started to go down hill. We have the same stubborn nature as them and neither side seemed to win. This went on for two years before our parents finally caved and as a birthday present to my brothers, gave us their consent on our journey. They said they didn't want to be the reason we couldn't achieve our dreams. Soon our relationships mended and now, six months later, we are finally here in Lumiose getting our very first Pokemon." I finished my rant, taking a deep breath.

The labs were quiet for a second while everyone took in my story. Not many people had ever been introduced to the other opinion of Pokemon. The idea that they were dangerous and scandalous. Most people saw them as friends and companions. But not my parents. I liked to think one day they would come around, but as I said, they were extremely stubborn.

"I'm sorry to here that." Professor Sycamore smiled sadly. "I can't even begin to imagine a world without Pokemon."

"Don't worry, we never knew any different growing up." Leon attempted to lift the mood. A small tension still hung in the air but everyone made an effort to move on.

"Here," professor Sycamore fished something out of the pocket of his lab coat. His fingers clutched three small devices. They were orange with what I recognized to be a Pokeball in the bottom corner. "These are your Pokedexs. We give one to all our new trainers." He explained and handed the three of us one each.

I cradled it in my hand. I had never heard of a Pokedex. It hadn't come up in any of the books I read. The device was smooth and fit perfectly between my two hands.

"What does it do?" Aron questioned, outstretching the device in front of him to get a better look.

"If you hold it up to any Pokemon it will tell you it's name and some details about it. They become awfully handy." The lady with blue hair, Sophie, said. That made sense. I saw how it could be quite useful. I probably would use it a lot in the coming years.

"Why don't I introduce you to your options." The professor smiled at us before cupping his hands around his mouth. "Alain, do you mind bringing Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie here for me!" the professor yelled into nothingness. His voice echoed off the walls.

Soon a figure appeared on the massive stair case that protruded from the back of the room. He and the professor alike had dark hair except this boy had icy blue eyes. Alain stood with his arms crossed and his face turned down, a mysterious vibe about him. An interesting scarf coiled around his neck and the rest of his cloths fit a dark, depressing color scheme. For someone who was only just meeting new people for the first time, his presence sent shivers down my spine.

Three small Pokemon, no taller than my knee, circled Alain's feet. I knew all of them well, could tell you their names, their types and exactly who would acquire which. Unfortunately, they were the only Pokemon I knew anything about. Of course during my research of our journey, my very first Pokemon was something to be looked at. My brothers and I had come to a conclusion of which one we wanted and everything had been set in place. Now all we had to do was tell professor Sycamore.

Alain proceeded down the wide stair case, three Pokemon trailing behind him. His expression stayed blank and unreadable.

"Alain works for me." The professor explained. "Usually he is off at one of our research sites but he just returned to give me a special stone that they found. He will be leaving again later this evening."

I nodded weakly as he reached the bottom step. Fennekin, Chespin and Froakie lined up in front of us as if they had practiced it a million times. Their heads were held high and grins took up their faces. This was enough to make me smile. For the sake of it, I held my Pokedex up in front of Froakie. Of course I already knew everything it would tell me but I wanted to see how it worked. The device opened, a glowing blue screen appeared. At first I was startled but then got used to the new technology.

"Froakie, the bubble frog Pokemon." I jumped back in alarm as it began speaking, a picture of Froakie flashing on the screen. I definitely hadn't been expecting that. Who would have thought it spoke? "Froakie protects its body by covering itself in delicate bubb-" the rest was cut off by a loud crash.

Everyone's head followed the sound where it sourced on the second floor. More loud crashes echoed into the main entrance along with a few deep yelps and some high pitched squeals. After a few seconds Professor Sycamore shook his head and sighed. He opened his mouth to speak but then the noises got louder to the point where we could see the commotion that started them. And they were coming at us with full speed.

"Eevee! wait up, come back here!" A scientist yelled as he sprinted clumsily down the stairs. His lab coat flapped behind him and his arms were outstretched in his frenzy.  A small white streak bounced a few meters in front of the scientist. I could hardly make out any features other than its small height and long, pointed ears. The Pokemon was going so fast it only looked like a blur.

My eyes widened as they bounded closer. I wanted to move out the way but couldn't. It was like I was paralyzed. The only thing I could do was stand there and watch as they both collided with me while people shouted various things my way. I saw the small Pokemon attempt to stop but it's paws just skidded unsuccessfully across the carpet. My legs began to buckle below me, readying somewhat for impact. Before I knew it I was knocked back like a domino and was free falling.

A small squeal escaped my lips before my head collided with the hard ground. The carpets didn't act as much of a cushion at all. The shock vibrated my whole body. My arms flailed in front of me; useless limbs couldn't even catch me when I fell. The impact jerked my body upwards and then for a second I felt nothing. Like a blissful numbness. But soon the pain arose and my eyes rolled back in my head.

Everything went black.

After what felt like a couple seconds, my eye lids flew open. Hastily I gasped for air, gulping it like water. Everything around me was frozen in place. Every person stood still, gaping at me. Luckily someone had caught the scientist before he too, hit me over. All eyes scanned me and it took a few moments before anyone reacted. Then all of a sudden, the apologies and the 'are you okay's' erupted in an instant. I was blinded by them. My lips quivered, to stunned to answer.

Instead of worrying I seemed more interested in finding the culprit of this disaster. A Pokemon sat by my side with what looked to be a sheepish smile across its face. Now that it wasn't bolting across the room I could see its striking features in detail. A cat like muzzle rested just below stunning, wide dark eyes. They were filled with interest and sparkled like I had never seen before. It's eyes were so entrancing. The Pokemon was coated in thick white fur and a heavy mane circled its neck like a scarf. It sat on its hind legs and scanned me over with those big eyes. It drank in every inch of me.

The voices around me dissipated into low murmurs as I waited for the Pokemon to look me in the eye. For some reason I craved its attention. Nothing had ever captivated me the way those eyes did. Once it's dark orbs found mine again they were filled with intensity. The sheepish grin had been wiped from its face and was now replaced by a thin line. After a few seconds passed, the Pokemon stood up, eyes never leaving mine. Paw by paw it approached me then...licked me on the cheek.

I blinked. Then I blinked again. Did that just happen?

I looked down at the little creature. It's small head nuzzled into my neck and it let out a small squeak. "Umm...hello to you too." I muttered just loud enough for me and the Pokemon to hear. Suddenly there was a hand on my shoulder and I jumped out of my skin. The small Pokemon seemed as shocked as I was, and it too, leaped back in fright. I turned my head to see Professor Sycamore looking sympathetically down at me. I smiled sadly.

"I'm so sorry about that. Are you alright?" He asked, concern on his face.

"I'm okay... I think." The pain in the back of my head arose again, now that he mentioned it. My hands gently rubbed the sore spot and I winced. Luckily it didn't seem like anything major.

"Eevee here doesn't like anyone at my labs. She is becoming quite a struggle." The professor explained.

"Oh." Was all I could manage.

"I'm so sorry professor. I was just trying to get a hair sample but Eevee was being... Eevee." The scientist apologized. His face was stress filled and sweat dripped from his eyebrows.

"It's alright. You have been dealing with Eevee for the past couple of days. I'll have to find someone else to look after her for the rest of the week. You can have a break." Professor Sycamore said to the scientist, his face twisted deep in thought.

I looked down at the Pokemon that was supposedly called Eevee. She prowled around my legs, a playful look on her face. A grin tugged at the edges of my lips. Kneeling down to her height, I pulled out my Pokedex.

"Eevee, the evolution Pokemon." It spoke. A picture flashed on the screen. My eyebrows furrowed at the sight of it. The device showed a picture that looked like Eevee, same features and all but it's fur was brown instead of white. This Eevee was different. How weird. My ears failed to hear the rest as I pondered over Eevee's abnormalities.

It didn't matter. I didn't care if Eevee had purple fur. All that mattered was that I was here, interacting with an actual Pokemon! How cool was that! I had waited years for this. Nothing could ever ruin that moment.

"You're quite troublesome." I told Eevee, tenderly scratching her behind the ear. Eevee let out a squeal of pleasure. I chuckled "You like that?" The Pokemon purred under my touch. I didn't see how Eevee could have caused so much stress and chaos. She was so cute, and only about two feet tall. Plus, Eevee seemed to be acting perfectly civilized around me. What were they having such a fuss about?

I was so engrossed in the creature before me that I didn't notice everyone staring at me, their mouths agape. I looked up at them, one by one analyzing their confused, surprised and simply flabbergasted faces.

"What?" I tried to get something out of them but didn't get much in response. "Oh!" I suddenly remembered something. Carefully I plucked a couple hairs from Eevee's shinny white coat before straightening up again. "Here are the hair samples you wanted." I outstretched a hand with the hairs towards the scientist.

Slowly, he took them from me, still totally in shock. I made a strange face at him. How rude, he should close his mouth before he catches flys.

"How did you do that?" Professor Sycamore questioned.

"Do...what?" I raised an eyebrow. Why was everyone looking at me weirdly? Everyone except for my brothers of course, they were watching me from afar with exaggerated goofy grins across their faces.

"Eevee has never cooperated or connected with anyone like that before. I have never seen her so happy and...willing." Sophie explained to me. She pushed her glasses up the bridge of her nose and nodded slightly.  "You seem to have some immediate connection. Like love at first sight." She laughed.

I peered down at Eevee who was brushing up against my legs. She snarled at everyone, protecting me as if I was her master.

"Eevee!" She barked ferociously at the scientist before doing figure eights between my legs.

"Hummm...I've seen something like this before. Not every trainer chooses their partners, sometimes their partners choose them." The professor came a little closer to me, his hand venturing into his pocket briefly.

"Excuse me, what's that supposed to mean?" I was really confused now. What was he talking about?

"You see, Eevee originally came here as apart of a new investigation I was starting at the labs. Unfortunately no one could get her to cooperate, not even me. I have dealt with difficult Pokemon before but none as stubborn and troublesome as Eevee. You have no idea how many books have been torn, how many vases have been broken and how many people have been knocked over in our numerous chases. Once I had a Pokemon who didn't like any of the trainers I gave him to. He was constantly being returned to me because he wouldn't listen to his trainer. But one day the right boy came along and the pair became inseparable and extremely powerful. Maybe it's the same with Eevee."

"Wait are you saying..." I couldn't finish the sentence. What if I was wrong?

"I want you to take Eevee. I can't keep her here after she met you. That would be cruel. Eevee may not attach herself to anyone els ever again. Plus, she is never much help here at the labs anyways." Now it was my turn to stand with my mouth open. I couldn't believe what was happening. Happiness pluses through me like my heart pumped it pure. Nothing had made me so giddy, excited and overjoyed in my life.

Professor Sycamore handed me a red and white sphere. I cupped the smooth ball between my fingers. It fit perfectly in my palm.

"This is your Pokeball. Catch Eevee with it."

I looked down at my soon-to-be partner. She looked back with those big, dark eyes. I saw everything in them. I saw friendship and hope. Eevee filled me with a blossoming warm feeling.

"Umm...professor Sycamore, I have a question." I stated.

"Yes, what is it?"

"Why is Eevee's fur white?"

"Ohh." He chuckled. "That's because Eevee is a Shiny Pokemon. It's what our new investigation is about."

"Okay." I had no clue what that meant. But I went with it anyway. Instead I knelt down in front of the white furred creature. Her eyes were filled with new found determination.

"Are you ready Eevee?"

"Eevee!"

I hope you all like the first chapter. I plan on making these new characters even more likable for you so look forward to some big character development in the future. I would also like to say that I do not own Pokemon or any of its characters. This is all my imagination. I appreciate that you not hate on my characters. I already know what they are going to look like and have some sketches to show you!!!

Please be patient with me guys. We all know how dense Ash is so trying to change his view of the world is going to take a little time and a big push. I figured that because Ash and Serena have been traveling together for about a year now and almost nothing happens between them that they just need a little push to get them started. So this is my definition of a push.
