Samantha's POV.
Squinting my eyes open trying desperately to adjust to the dark cell that I was current locked in.
I don't know how long I was in here but it felt like days. I couldn't move thanks to the chains that now kept me bound in place.
I was on a hard ass mattress that was pushed into the far corner of the room. There was no window, just one door and a rotten looking dresser
I signed, hoping that someone would save me. My mother, I prayed she would soon find me. That anyone would find me, Mom, Dad, Jeremy, Stefan or the police.
He is one of them.
A vampire. Stefan is a vampire.
It was kind of hard to believe but the news sank in rather quickly.
I stretched my legs and arms trying my best to ignore the swelling and burning that the chains were inflicting. These people have no mercy. Their hearts are cold. Hell they are cold, there dead! Immortal beings.
I rubbed at my eyes as I brought my knees to my chest for warmth. I was cold and the wall was beginning to hurt my back.
I was hungry and tired, tired of being here. My throat hurt from all the shouting I did a few hours prior. No one answered.
I had cried most of the time. I cried for myself, my mom, the pain, to be freed and my father.
My father. He must be worried sick. I had no way of contacting anyone so I was officially screwed.
I listened intently as I heard footsteps descending stairs. The steps groaned under the person's weight. Next came the juggling of keys followed by the clicking of the lock.
I tightened my arms around myself as the door was pushed open. I wanted to look up but I didn't. I was too scared.
"Samantha!" came his voice. I shivered as air engulfs me in a hug. It came through the door.
The voice sounded familiar.
I finally looked up.
"Damon?" I breathed in relief.
