Castiel jolted awake, his bare body pressed against Dean's. He tried to shift to get a glimpse of the alarm clock that was on the night stand. It was talk, and he could faintly hear the pit pat of the rain on the roof. Castiel sighed, seeing that the alarm clock read 12:06. Castiel had only been a sleep for two hours. He was almost accustomed to sleepless nights. It was quiet, and boring. All Castiel could do was listen to Dean's light snores as he breathed. He felt Dean pull him closer in his sleep, almost like he used to do when he was little. Castiel had been deemed one of Dean's stuffed animals. Castiel enjoyed looking back on thqur life. He could remember every detail. Who else would? He wondered.
Astro
"But, Cas! I wanna sign it!" Dean whined, his green eyes narrowing with frustration. "Please, please, please!"
Castiel stared at his cast, sighing. "But, Astro, you're the reason I have this in the first place."
"Cas!"
"Nuh-uh," Castiel pouted, looking at the cast that was signed by so many people. It was itchy. That's the best word he could find to explain how the cast felt. Cas didn't want to keep it on for two months. He pouted.
"Please?" Dean curled his bottom lip downward.
"No."
"Please."
"No."
"Please!"
"Nope."
"Cas!"
"Ugh. Fine." Castiel handed him the marker, rolling his eyes as Dean signed his cast with the dumbest grin on his face.
-
Peanut Butter
"Dean! Give me the peanut butter!" Mrs. Winchester called. She pounded on the door.
"No!" Dean clung to the jar, sticking his fingers in it and dragging them up to his mouth. "Mine!"
Castiel sat by Dean, his face covered in the brown substance. "Dean, give it back to her."
"But Cas," he complained.
"Dean," Castiel took the jar and stuck his hand through the door, hoping that she didn't see his face. "Here."
"Thank you, Castiel." She chuckled.
"Cas!" Dean pouted.
"There's plenty on my face."
-
People Are Mean
"Dean, I said it was fine. They're just rude." Castiel held his arm tightly, looking down as he walked past his best friend.
"Cas, you stood there while they picked at you. That's not okay."
"Dean, I said it's fine. They're jerks."
"Cas," Dean sighed. "Fine."
--
I Don't Want To
--
"Ice, ice baby," Dean sang as he walked into the living room with an ice pack. Castiel had a sprained ankle because of those two jerks. Dean had spent the night because of the whole incident. He and Lucifer were Castiel's caretakers, in a sense.
"Stop singing that remake of under pressure." Castiel crossed his arms. Queen was much better than Vanilla Ice. That was a fact.
"It fits!" Dean whined, pressing the ice to his ankle. "Elevate it, Cas."
"It is elevated!"
"Higher. Lay down, put it on the arm rest, and leave it."
"But it hurts!" Cas whined.
"Cas," Dean warned.
"Ugh."
--
Fireworks
--
"How about a sparkler, then, Dean?" Castiel handed him one of the little stick.
"I don't like fire, Cas."
"It's fine, Dean. Look! You can draw pictures in the air!" Castiel dragged the stick throughout the air, dancing lightly. Dean watched him contently. He liked watching Castiel. He was graceful. Ironic.
"I'll stick to watching you."
--
Friends Who Sick Together, Stay Together.
--
Castiel loved watching a Scooby Doo with Dean, and since they both had fevers, they were extremely warm but they felt extremely cold.
"What if Scooby Doo got pregnant?" Dean asked.
Castiel looked up at him, glaring a little bit. "Go to sleep."
--
Curse Those Wooden Stairs
--
"Cassie, look at me." Dean took his unconscious friends hand in his, still silently praying for him to be alright. "Open your eyes and look at me, Castiel."
Castiel did not respond to his pained cries. Castiel didn't even flinch.
And it broke Dean's heart.
"Dear God, if you're listening, I'm asking you... begging you, protect him. He's an angel. He's one of your angels. Keep him safe. Look at him. HEAL him. Protect him. Please... keep him alive." Dean whispered, looking at Lucifer.
Castiel twitched, his eyes opening.
"Hey, Angel."
--
You're My Hero.
--
"I need you."
--
But I can Ask You, Can't I?
--
"Lucifer, you won't believe what just happened!" Castiel burst through the door, happily dropping his bag on the floor.
"What, Cas?"
"Dean asked me to the Winter Wonderland Dance!" Castiel could hardly contain himself in front of his brother.
"You're kidding."
"Nope!"
"Get some, little bro!" Lucifer exclaimed.
Castiel cringed.
--
The Balloon Rule
--
"Dammit, Cas, you're still bleeding!"
"Well I'm sorry my nose doesn't have a damn plug."
--
Pool Party
--
"I think I love you."
--
Christmas In a Gloom Setting.
--
"Why would anyone do something so bad to make him do this?" Dean sobbed into Sam's shoulder. "Why did I have to leave him alone like that? Sammy, he could be dead!"
"He isn't dead, Dean," Sam hushed his brother, bringing him into an embrace. "He'll be okay. You will be, too."
"It's my fault."
"Nothing is your fault, Dean."
--
Colleges, Picnics, And Couples Tattoos
--
"But Cas, it itches!"
"I don't care if the damn thing is burning into your soul, you have to take care of it."
"Can't I just clean it out later?"
"Dean Winchester, turn around, take off your shirt, and let me clean your tattoo or I will act oblivious to the concept of sex for two months."
"Fine."
--
Here With You Is Where I Want To Be
--
Castiel sat in the shower floor, kissing Dean softly with his legs around him. The water (and some other things if you know what I mean) ran down the drain, making a soft, relaxing sound. He held onto Dean for dear life, pushing himself closer with every moment passing. "You're getting better at this," he whispered.
"So are you."
--
Take 'Em Out
--
"Don't touch that textbook, Castiel."
--
He Seems So Real
--
"Nothing else matters, Dean. I'm real. Nothing else is real. I am."
--
Ring Around The Rosey
--
"Damn it, Cas. I can't believe you did that!" Dean cheered, stepping into the impala.
"I can't believe you're my fiancé."
--
I Do
--
"Stop teasing me, Castiel." Dean breathed.
"All tease you all I want, Dean," Castiel grinned.
--
Familiar
--
"Millie, Dint let those assfaces stand in your way. You can do whatever you want to do."
"But I'm—"
"No buts, Millie. I'm completely serious. You work hard. You do what you want."
"Thank you."
--
We Have To Stop Meeting Like This
--
"You should have let me come get you, Angel." Dean cried, holding onto Cas's limp hand. "You shouldn't have been out there.
--
Vodka
--
"Cas, I seriously cannot walk."
--
Adventures of Gabe And Luci
--
"I'm so sorry this happened."
--
Tea And Meds
--
"It's a little bit funny, this feeling inside. I'm not one of those who can easily hide," Castiel sang softly to Dean as he held him tightly. "I'm not one of those who can easily bide." He rubbed circles on his back, sighing. "I don't have much money, but boy if I did, I'd buy a big house where we both could live." Cas pulled him closer, kissing his forehead.
"And you can tell everybody that this is your song. It may be quite simple but now that it's done... I hope you don't mind, I hope you don't mind, that I put down in words, how wonderful life is now you're in the world."
--
The Meadow
--
"I love you so damn much."
--
Gif
--
"Peanut Butter for days!" Dean shoved his fist into a jar.
"Dean!"
Then he pulled it out. He licked his hand and winked at Cas.
"Holy shit, no."
Those were the best of times they had together, but they were just too good to last.
