i stared at my phone, scanning the website that displayed across the screen.
cupid hotline! call 1-800-need-love
my friend, namjoon, recommended it to me the other day. as stupid as it sounds, he claims that it was the very website that brought him and his significant other, seokjin, together.
i've been lonely for quite some time now. not like i wanted to be, but i just didn't have the guts to face rejection.
i clicked on the link, leading me straight to my dial pad. my phone rung a couple of times before being picked up.
"hello, this is the cupid hotline. how may we help you?"
i held the phone to my ear.
"uh-m, i was looking for a boyfriend."
"ok, please wait a few moments as i transport the call to our professional dating staff."
"alright."
i wait a few seconds, having the hold music being the only thing accompanying me. the music stopped and was replaced with loud shuffling.
"hello?"
a deep voice on the other end spoke.
"hi." i replied with a small amount of emotion.
"ah, yes. what's your name?" the man questioned.
"j-jimin."
"ok, jimin. is there a type that you would prefer?"
"actually yes."
"alright, what's your type?"
"min yoongi."
