Our story continues right where the previous chapter left off with Jared defeating Octavio's giant mech but also causing a massive explosion damaging most of Inkopolis and blowing our inkling heroes off. When Jared is about to get some answers from octavio on why they did this, Lil D immediately stops him and he sneaks away. Now cornered, Lil D must reveal everything he knows about the octolings and also himself
"Alright what do you know about the Octarians, why is everything about you so secret, Lil D? Its time you tell me everything now!" A bruised Jared angrily said
"Fine fine. To start things off my real name is Thomas Daniel & im Callie's younger brother."
"Wait a minute...Callie's? I thought you were Callie & Marie's." Jared questioned with a confused look
"Just because their called the "squid sister's" doesn't mean they're actual sister's. They're Cousins and Cuttlefish's granddaughters. They watch over Inkopolis as Pop stars and undercover agents."
"Wait a minute if they're cousin's and agent 1 and 2 then how come you arent agent 3? Your really good."
"Well......ok the truth is i am related to Callie but i was also an orphan."
"An orphan?"
"Mhm. Truth is Callie & Marie's parents were...killed by Octarians when i was born. It was a small invasion that happened years after the great turf war...Octolings kidnapped me & made me one of their soldiers in their army. I was completely oblivious. They were all nice to me, i learned their language, studied their battle formation but in the end i never knew their real goal...THIS...the destruction of Inklings...the octolings found out i was slowly starting to realize so they did horrible experiments to me and my mind...one day i managed to FINALLY escape but they were hunting me down everywhere. So i took on the alias, Lil D, got new clothes and hid my identity by being an S+ pro Splatoon player. But i was still left wandering the planet for a few months...until i discovered this safe place and made a new life here."
"Wait then how did you know who you are and all this stuff?"
"Cuttlefish encountered me when they were sending troops to stop an inkling getting back our Zapfish. He convinced me that the Octarians were the bad guys and i was an inkling but I couldn't except it. I tried to turn him in but he escaped back to Inkopolis but after that i started to question who are the bad guys and who are the good guys."
"So you mean the Octarians are good guys??"
"They may have took me in, trained me, and gave me an education in Octarian history but they are no good guys. Didn't you listen what i told you??"
"I don't know...i feel like there's way more to what their doing....they could be good."
"Jared you can't just see the light in everyone. They tortured me and tried tracking me down for most of my life and you think their still nice people!?!"
"I never said their nice i just wanna understand them...whats their problem with us...why do they want the zapfishes so bad, why this attack..."
"I don't wanna understand anyone anymore."
"So wait a minute, let me just sum up everything. Callie and Marie's parents were dead so they lived with Cuttlefish, you were an orphan alone from them all and got accepted by the Octarians for years. You got your skills from Octoling training and became an elite member to join the army only to get disowned by them for not wanting to help?"
"Yeah thats pretty much the gist." Lil D said while nonchalantly sitting on the ground
"Wow you had it rough...is that why you dont prefer teams?"
"Most of the time, yes. You never know how long they last or which team really is the bad guys."
"Hey! Jared!" Amethyst yelled while coming out from under some building rubble. Carter and Xavier come out as well, in pain.
"Ugh what the heck...did you just beat him?" Carter asked
"Yeah i did but hes gone. Probably back to Octo Valley."
"Well then we'll be ready. For now lets help anyone who's buried alive."
"Right guys...ehh ill catch up but as for you Thomas i.." Jared notices he's gone "that little! Where did he go!?"
As jared and his team help out any ppl who were caught in the explosion and fighting, David and Abigail's teams emerge from rubble on another side of inkopolis.
"Uhh is everyone ok?" David said while looking hurt
"Agh never better." Kobe confirmed that the others are okay but still bruised and such. Abigail then laid up and asked-
"I'm good too. What was that?"
"Idk but it looked like that kid came through." Shawn said
"Wait he saved us?? God i owe Summer 20 bucks." Brooke said with a disappointed look "...oh i mean yeah the city is saved. Thats good."
"Well now that the city is fine for now, our partnership ends." Abigail confirms
"Right. Guess we'll help some people out and prepare ourselves when they open up the tower again."
"Hold up! We gotta help people?" Tarique questioned
"YES, its the nice thing to do! Now cmon." David tugs T away as the others follow but not before preston asks the girl's one last question-
"Will we ever see you ladies again?"
"I hope not." Jessica replied
"Maybe in turf wars we'll randomly run into you guys, just make sure you put up a good fight. Unlike this last team we fought." Abigail mentions Amethyst's team unknowingly to preston.
"Trust me we are awesome! Especially David and Kobe. Ill see you ladies later." He winks and heads off while the girls talk about him
"Ok that guy is a little funny compared to the rest of them."
"Hmmm not Brooke's type but that short fellow is kinda cute."
"Hes annoying."
"I think hes cute and funny." Summer said while the others stare at her "...what? He is."
The next day after things cool down and jared returns home to find his mother and father okay after all that. He sees that Echo is here and tries to find him. School is closed because of the damage and so is Turf wars so jared went outside with Carter, Amethyst, and Xavier.
"Whats bugging you, Jared? I mean other than turf wars being closed i mean its freaking everyone out but your moving really fast." Carter wondered
"Everything! I dont know where the cube is, im still mind blown of what Lil D said and there are still Octarians out there. I mean what if more octarians come back with more troops?! What if the voice on the cube turns out to be a deadly assassin!?! What if-"
Amethyst slaps jared multiple times.
"Get a hold of your senses, Jared! Stop thinking like that, it really aint your thing. Now then ok bad stuff will happen now and then but you gotta just fight back over and over and just love the good times while they last."
"Ugh i guess your right..ok im just gonna stay calm now...stayying CALMMM!" He said while breathing in and out hard while sweating a lot
"Oh my god this is so boring!!! Im so bored id rather hang with you all, all day! When is the lobby gonna be fixed again!?" Xavier questioned angrily
"Be patient i mean its not like their gonna cancel it forever."
"In the meantime i gotta do something...im gonna go get a coffee."
"Um you know their arent any stores open right now?!" Carter said
"Then i want some fresh air."
"Uhh i know whatll cheer you up jared. Basepaul!"
"Its ball, Amethyst."
"Oh what the F ever. Do you wanna play?"
"Uhh i guess but arent you into Soccer. And on the school's soccer team?"
"Yeah but im doing this to get your mind off things so yeah. You in, Carter?"
"Nah im not into sports but im probably gonna try help out rebuild the city."
"Ok then Jared guess its just me and you. Lets go."
Amethyst takes Jared to a park near a ruined Flounder heights and they play catch and bat a little. Amethyst doesnt know much of what shes doing though which makes Jared laugh
"Why are you laughing? I think i got it now." Amethyst throws the bat at jared but he ducks safely.
"DUDE!"
"Was i not supposed to do that?..."
"Ugh ok look it was funny at first but now i don't want bats flung at me. Ok your supposed to throw the ball at me with your gloved hand...think of it like sniping-"
"Thats all i needed to hear." Amethyst threw a really fast ball at jared but it hits him in the crotch instead. "Ha i like baseball."
"Do we do something less painful?" He said in a high pitch voice
"Fine...we could..no thats wrecked....maybe we...no thats damaged too." As Amethyst thinks of what to do, Jared walks off while shes not looking and runs into Dylan
"Hey Dylan whats up?"
"Non of your bees piss, why are your eyes watering?"
"Amethyst hit a baseball at me. Whats new with you?"
"Just wanted some fresh air....OK I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE, THE LACK OF RANK MODE IS KILLING ME! I NEED TO RAISE MY RANK!"
"Woah calm down..."
"Oh yeah wanna know something cool! Boomshakalaka!" Dylan then pulls out her new Heavy Splatling.
"Whoaaaa thats cool! When did you get that?"
"Yesterday. Fighting Octarians made me realize-"
"Thaat there all not so bad and are actually nice?"
"What? Fuck no. It made me realize how suckish that mini Splatling was! I mean the range was so small! But this thing has Splash walls and Inkstrikes, it also has heavy in its name!...ya know you should upgrade your weapon too, ive seen you with that thing a bunch of times now."
"Uhh i was so gonna do that. In fact i have an awesome weapon i use in rank everyday." Jared said with a confident look
"Oh yeah then what is it mister big shot? Hmmm."
"Uhhh its uh....its.....umm the....L-3 Nozzlenose!"
"Huh that weapon is pretty alright. Not my type but of course youd like it. I hope to see you use it in rank then." She said while leaving
"Yeah same...ya know i was pretty good with this weapon against Octavio...maybe I should use it..but who do i know whose good with Nozzlenose's...oh yeah, Lil D. But who knows where he is maybe i can ask someone else."
Jared goes around Inkopolis and see if anyone would be willing to teach him but he has no luck
"Man not a single person wants to teach me."
"Teach you what?" Lil D shows up on crotches
"Wow even with a damaged limb you still can make an entrance. Do you think you can still teach me to use this." Jared asked while showing him the Nozzlenose
"Oh this thing..yeah i think i can teach you but why do you want to use this more?"
"I was really good with it against Octavio and i need a more varied weapon set...and maye because i lied to Dylan but thats not the point, will you help me?"
"Uhhh i guess, never taught anyone to use a weapon but whatever."
"Awesome. When did you wanna teach me? Later? Soon? Now!?"
"Uhhh maybe tomorrow. Right now I really dont feel like it."
"Oh okay no problem. Guess ill see ya early tomorrow morning." Jared leaves to his house while Lil D just questions if everything he told him was a mistake or not.
