"You told Cat you two are cousins?", Ashlee sat back and groaned, "He is going to kill me." Winn chuckled and Ashlee pouted, Kara went into Cat's office. "I'm so dead. Dead, dead, dead." She groaned and Kara walked out, "Special Edition magazines for next month, two issues. One all Supergirl. One all Haven. Big party, waitresses dressed like them." Ashlee groaned, "I'll call venues and bands. You get ice sculpture and food. We can both get waitresses." Kara nodded and the two began to work, a computer Bing popping up on Ashlee's computer, You let her do an interview? Seriously., Ashlee grit her teeth, I didn't know she was going to do it. If I did I would have purposely had some need of her. This is not my fault., three dots appeared and she glanced down, I know, I'm sorry., she softly smiled, It's alright. I mean, atleast they only know you two are cousins and not who you two are. We are all still safe. I have to go, Cat is throwing a Supergirl Haven party. I'll see you later Clark. She smiled to herself and Winn looked at her, "Who do you message all the time?", she glanced up, "Uh? Oh um. No one. Nobody at all. Nope." He raised an eyebrow and she sent a smile, "Oh, I have to go do something, bye." She hurried off and he stared after her. James chuckled as she hurried into his office, "Clark get ahold of you?", she nodded, "Yes, and I've apologized. I'm suppose to protect them both but I don't even know who I am." He chuckled, "Clark doesn't expect you to protect him or Kara. He expects you to be you and help Kara, the best you can." Ashlee nodded and took a deep breath, "I took back my resignation today, with 3 days to spare." He smiled, "Why did you want to resign anyway?", she glanced down, "No reason." Kara spoke into her ear piece, "Ashlee, we need your help. Meet me at the NCH." Ashlee smiled softly and walked out hurrying away and turning into Haven.
Ashlee landed by Kara, "Supergirl, Haven, the driver is still inside, she can't get out." Ashlee nodded and went inside, Kara broke a electric cord and Ashlee got the driver out. Everyone cheered but it went south quickly, when Ashlee was shot with an orange beam. Kara ran over and Ashlee stood up, "Who are you?", the man walked forward, "I'm just a ghost.", Ashlee glared, "What do you want?", he walked forward, "I want the Man of Steel to suffer. I want him to know what it feels like to lose everything. Staring with you, Supergirl." Ashlee turned her head, "Oh my god. Go!", she tossed Kara right as the man shot another orange beam and she was tossed into a windshield. Ashlee began to fight the man and he kept shooting her with his beams and she glared, grabbing a door and using it to shield herself and tossed it, knocking him flat and ruining his suit. He flew off and she hissed slightly, feeling slightly drained from the fight with Reactron. Kara flew down and looked at her, "Haven?", the brunette smiled, "I'm okay." She staggered forward and Kara caught her, "Come on."
Ashlee sat at a chair with a water by her, "Reactron, that's what the Daily Planet called him. Showed up in Metropolis a few years back when I was visiting with Superman. We could never figure out his identity. He had a bone to pick with Superman and apparently it hasn't gone away with time. Back then I didn't have a suit so I just popped in and helped make sure your Cousin stayed alive. Reactron is human, we can't fight him as the DEO, I'll call Superman and see if maybe he can come and help with him." Kara looked at her, "We need to go." Ashlee walked away and groaned. Kara smiled, "Why'd you toss me?", Ashlee smiled, "I promised to keep you safe, Reactron isn't safe."
Ashlee was sore the next day and was dressed in dress pants and a nice blouse and heels. Winn looked at her, "You okay?", she nodded, "I'll be fine. I'm used to it." James walked in, "You alright?", she nodded, "Perfect. I have to put finishing touches to the party." Winn smiled and smiled, "Where are we going?", he chuckled, "A new office.", Kara farrowed her eyebrows and Ashlee frowned, "New office? We have to be in yelling distance." He chuckled, "Not for that, for our other job." Ashlee froze, "Is this Ed's old office? That's weird, but smart." Kara looked at them, "What?", Ashlee looked at the, "The old office owner had a heart attack behind the desk, nobody wants it. It makes it perfect for us to use." James and Kara nodded and the four walked in. "Nice, tech stuff." Kara smiled, "Winn, I can't believe you did all of this for us." Ashlee smiled, "I'd do anything for you, Kara." Ashlee's smile fell and she looked at her watch, "I forgot I have a meeting to get to for Miss. Grant. I'll see you all later." She hurried out and James shook his head at Winn and Kara frowned. Ashlee took a deep breath and sighed, she lent against the wall and looked up. "Aimee, are you alright?", she looked at Cat, "Fine, just, uh, trying to not cry at work." Cat looked at her, "Is this about Will?", Ashlee frowned, "Will?" Cat nodded, "Sits across from Kerah, you always stare longingly at him while he stares at her, and she stares at James." Ashlee nodded, "Right oh, yeah. Kind of but never show pain, it's a weakness. My father told me that, before he passed away in a car accident when I was 14, along with my mom. Anyways, is there anything I can do for you Miss Grant?", she softly smiled, "Go home, rest. Actually, go out and try to find someone. The best way to make a guy see you, is to ignore him." She softly smiled, "Thank you Miss Grant." Cat smiled, "You're welcome, Aimee." Ashlee smiled and walked toward her desk, How are things?, Ashlee smiled, Let me get back to you on that. She logged off and went out.
Ashlee sat in a bar with a drink by her, "Once again, Lord Technologies has been the target of an attack by the criminal known as Reactron.", Ashlee stood up and paid, rushing outside and taking off into the sky, hovering about it looking for a sign of the radiation powered man. She flew to Lord Technologies and landed, "Is everyone alright?", a man looked at her, "He took Mr. Lord Haven." She nodded, "I'll find him." She flew off and flew around the city, trying to find Maxwell Lord's voice but found nothing.
"It's been twenty four hours since Maxwell Lord was abducted from his research facility by the Metropolis-based villain known as Reactron." Ashlee was standing up and the concern on her face was very visible, Cat smiled, maybe the girl could get over the nitwit IT guy. "Authorities still will not speculate whether Mr. Lord is alive or dead." Ashlee rushed to her computer and began feverishly typing, Winn and Kara staring at her, "Haven broke his core, maybe he needs it to survive for some reason. Maxwell Lord is smart, genius even, maybe Reactron thinks Max can fix it." James, Winn, and Kara were staring at her, "What?", she cleared her throat and sighed, "I uh, I'm not feeling to well. I need to go." Cat sighed and watched the assistant walk out, she could tell the girl was stressed, "Aimee, get a therapist or a good friend you can talk to." She nodded, "Yes, Miss Grant. I'm sor-", Cat shook her head, "Get better." Ashlee nodded, "I'll be back tomorrow." Cat smiled and Ashlee flashed a smile and left Catco. She ran outside and flew around, she has to find Max alive.
Ashlee hovered above National City with her head tilted and her eyes closed, searching for Max's voice. She just had to concentrate. "My housekeeper does a bang up job on my penthouse. Pretty sure she could get this place shiny in a jiff." She focused, "Max.", she tried to pinpoint it, "The moderator's been damaged which is preventing neuron speed reduction. It's clear you're sick." Ashlee glanced down, she had hurt that man, she flew around with her X-ray vision, she just had to find Maxwell before it was too late. "I'll need thorium, cesium-137, tributyl phosphate, and a Dr. Pepper. That last ones for me. I'm thirsty." Ashlee chuckled lightly at that and glanced around, she could find him. She knows she can. She flew over an old junk yard and softly smiled, "Gotcha." She flew down and crashed through the metal roof. "You look taller on tv." She shook her head, "You look cuter on tv." Kara walked in, "Where is he?", Ashlee lent forward and looked into his eyes, she broke the straps and softly smiled, "He forced me to repair his suit, I don't know where he is." Reactron hit Kara and Ashlee and they both grunted, "Max, run!", Reactron walked out and Max ran, "Ben, I don't think your wife would want you hurting anyone." Ashlee looked at Kara, "Ben Krull is dead." Ashlee looked at him, "I know what it's like to lose the person you love most, I lost my mom and dad at the age of 14. Please, let us help you." He snarled and hit her, "Superman saw to my death." She coughed and landed with a roll and sighed, standing up and flying forward. Kara was losing to Reactron and Ashlee hit him, Superman flying in and the two beating him, "Help her." Ashlee nodded and he flew off, Ashlee picked up Kara and flew her home. Ashlee nodded at James and Alex before flying off and home. "Reactron is a great danger to everyone in this city. Luckily, I wasn't harmed. In fact, I'm lucky to be alive. And I owe it all to the great heroes that rescued me, Haven and Superman." Ashlee simply smiled and glanced down, knowing that by now Kara knows James called Clark. She sighed and changed, washing up and putting on her glasses before going out. It was time for Cat's party.
Ashlee walked into the party wearing a black dress with black heels and a white clutch. Cat walked over, "You're here. Where's Kerah?", Ashlee smiled, "Something happened with her sister, she might be a bit late." Cat nodded, "How are you?", Ashlee softly smiled, "Better, I talked to a friend." Cat nodded, "Good, go enjoy yourself." Ashlee nodded, "Of course, Miss Grant." Cat nodded and Ashlee saw Winn and Kara dancing and her frown dropped before she walked over to Cat and Max, "You're talking to the same guy that launched a top-selling tablet hours after surviving an avalanche on Everest. Cocktails after a kidnapping? Breeze." Ashlee smiled slightly, and Cat smirked, "Are we dancing?", Cat shook her head, "No, I'm busy with someone else. I'm sure my assistant would do you the honor. She's almost as great as me." Ashlee softly smiled, "Mr. Lord." He smiled at her and the two began dancing, "What's your name?", she softly smiled, "Ashlee to everyone but Miss Grant, then I am Aimee." He smiled, "So how did your boss get an exclusive with Haven and Supergirl?" Ashlee softly smiled, "It's Cat Grant, the woman always finds a way to get what she wants no matter the means to do so." He smirked, "How'd she get you then?", she sighed, "Well, Miss Grant is my best chance at getting my heel in the door." She watched Cat leave and she chuckled, "Nothing says power like leaving your own party early. Look at the time, my apologizes Mr. Lord, I have more important things to be doing." He smirked at her and she smirked back, "Your eyes look familiar." She smiled, "They're the typical magazine cover blue Mr. Lord, of course they are." She placed a soft kiss on his cheek, "Maybe our paths will cross again, Maxwell Lord." He watched her walk away and Winn watched for the sidelines with a glare on his face, Ashlee was with Max and Kara with James. Ashlee stood on the sidelines with a glass of champagne and Winn walked over, "You and Maxwell Lord seem rather cozy." She smirked, "What's it matter who I'm cozy with? James seems to have taken Kara's attention for the night." Reactron crashed in and she frowned, "Hold my champagne." She disappeared outside and flew in through the same hole Reactron made and she landed in front of Maxwell Lord after kicking Reactron away from him. "Twice in two days, I should put you on payroll as a bodyguard." She smirked, "Get someplace safe." He nodded and Kara flew in, "Good idea." Reactron stood up, "I'm sorry for what happened to you Ben, but you are going to jail." He stood up and looked at the two, "I'm sure one day I will. But you two won't live to see it." Ashlee rolled her eyes, and she used her ice breath to fight against his nuke powers. James looked at her as she reflected the beam and it hit a pillar making in fall and almost hit Winn, Kara caught it, "Hey. Remember me? I'm the closest thing Superman has to a best friend. You wanna see him hurt? Killing me would so that." Ashlee groaned, "Seriously Jimmy?", he ran and Ashlee took off after the two men, "Incase the core in lead before you rip it free." Ashlee paused in the air and used her X-ray vision, chuckling when she found lead and used her heat vision to melt it and dip her hand into the melted lead. She flew off and Kara did the same. Ashlee flew out and hit Reactron, the two fell and broke the concrete. He threw her and she groaned, Kara landed in front of her and guarded her friend from the Rays and Ashlee stood tall, her lead hand ready to tear out the core. When he got close Ashlee slammed her hand against the demon core and ripped it out, locking it in her palm to keep it from exploding. James ran in and Ashlee softly smiled, "I'll get this to the DEO." She dropped it off and found Alex and Hank, "Thank you." She nodded, "I made a promise to protect her. I might not work with you, but I work with her." The pair nodded and Ashlee flew off. She landed at Maxwell Lord's and knocked softly on his window, "Well, I get to see you three times in two days, I must be lucky." She softly smiled, "I just wanted to make sure you were alright before I did my thing." He smiled, "Is a little superhero concerned for me." She rolled her eyes, "Only because you've been targeted and I feel like it won't be the last time either. The city loves you and I love the city and its people, therefore." He chuckled, "You love me?", she crunched her nose up, "Maybe not in the way you're used to a girl loving you, but yes." He smiled and she smiled back, "I'd better go, I hear some sirens." He nodded and she softly smiled, "If you ever need me, just yell Mr. Lord." He nodded and she flew off. Ashlee sighed but she wore a big smile.
Ashlee walked into the office the next morning with a big smile and Winn looked at her, "Hey, what's got you all smiley?", she shook her head, "Nothing." Cat called for her and she walked in, "Does a certain Maxwell Lord have anything to do with the bright and cheery smile?", Ashlee shook her head, "No, Miss Grant. I'm too mediocre for Maxwell Lord. Thank you for last night though, it really helped." Cat nodded and shooed her away, "Go do your job you do so well Aimee." Ashlee nodded, "Of course, Miss Grant." She walked off and her computer binged, Maxwell Lord? What's that about?, she chuckled, It's nobody's business what that is about., she glanced down, Lois says Lucy is over there. Ashlee sighed, Great. Just what I need. Might want to talk to Kara, I believe she's met Lucy and knows of the history between the two. Have a good day Clark. She hovered over Maxwell Lord's name in messaging but rolled her lips, should she or shouldn't she? She smiled, I hope all is well Mr. Lord, I must say I enjoyed last night. I hear it went a bit south after I left to help Miss Grant., she sent it and three little dots came into the screen. She smirked and Winn stared at her. A man walked in a placed a vase on her desk and it had a note, Thanks for the dance. ~Maxwell Lord
