Surprise update! Although adulting is eating me alive, I decided to come up with an update because walang ganap today. So I decided we all need a dose of some kilig and I hope this update will help. Now that the Faulkersons are expecting twins, there must be adjustments made and these can be challenging.

MAINE
It's been two weeks since the Faulkersons found out that they were pregnant with twins. Dr. Reyes estimated the twins to be at eight weeks during the time they did the ultrasound, which means Maine is now on her tenth week of pregnancy.
Maine lost weight as an effect of her morning sickness, a misnomer really, because she felt the nausea even until evening. There were certain smells she couldn't stand, like the smell of any kind of fish or seafood, car freshener and fabric softener. She was sleepy all the time, but couldn't sleep at night.
Alden gave her full attention, always on hand to give her what she needed. He turned down any out-of-town gigs, or concerts abroad, wanting to be with her on her first trimester, the most crucial time of any pregnancy. He was always careful even when sleeping, always turning his back on her for fear of inadvertently hitting her tummy. He was so careful that they no longer shared any intimacy for the past two weeks, and it was making them both cranky.
Maine thought the sex no longer happened because she looked and felt terrible. It was difficult to be amorous when she felt like throwing up all the time. She looked at her image on the mirror and all she saw staring back at her was a pale face with dark circles under her eyes, her collar bones sticking out and her shoulders looking like hangers (Author's note: Well this is typical Maine being Maine who always is too hard on herself so do not be deceived by the poor self-image, she looks fine.)
They were now in Broadway, waiting for their cues to do their segment together. Maine was still deep in thought, wondering about married life. Of course she wanted the twins, but really, is this it? After weeks of sex on tap, it was like she was having withdrawal symptoms for a bad addiction. She missed the foreplay most of all, the teasing and laughing. Not that Alden was ignoring her, he was in fact more attentive now. But their intimacy suddenly stopped and she wondered if it was her fault.
ALDEN
Maine seemed distant again. She chose to eat lunch ahead with the girls, which he didn't mind really, since he liked it that she ate anything at all, considering how nauseous she always was. It's just that he missed their usual connection. It's like the spark was slowly being snuffed out, and he was getting panicky about it.
Of course they still had the sexual tension between them, but he avoided any intimacy for fear of overexerting Maine, or worse, hurting the baby. He missed cuddling her when sleeping, because Maine sometimes tossed and turned and he worried he might hit her tummy if her sudden movement makes him shift his position in bed.
He wondered how long they could keep this up. He wanted to talk to her about it, but she was a bit of a drama queen lately, so he avoided any triggers to make her cry. He was still deep in thought, not noticing Ryan already sitting in front of him in the pantry.
"Huy, Alden! Earth calling Alden, come in..."
"Ay Kuya Ryan, sorry. May tinatanong ka?"
"Ang lalim ng iniisip mo ha. May problema ba?"
"Pwede ba tayong mag-usap kuya? May kailangan lang ako i-consult sayo."
"Sige, shoot."
"Kuya, nung buntis ba si Ate Juday, nag-aano ba kayo?"
"Nag-aano?"
"Yung ano.....yung ano." He was looking at Ryan with eyebrows raised, both hands positioned as though he were about to clap.
"Yung ano ngaaaa?"
"Kuya Ryan naman eh, may halo pang alaska eh."
"Hahahaha, bat hindi mo masabi? Malay ko ba kung yun nga tinutukoy mo?"
"Basta yung ano....lam mo na yun."
"Sex ba ibig mong sabihin?" Alden nodded and grimaced, afraid someone would hear and put a finger to his lips.
"Oo naman, hanggang mga seven months siya."
"Hindi ba masama yun?"
"Grabe ka, di ka ba nagreresearch?"
"Nagresearch ako, nabasa ko naman pwede, kaya lang palaging masama pakiramdam niya eh. Parang nagi-guilty ako na mag ganon kami baka di niya kaya. Lagi nga mainit ulo eh."
"Talagang iinit ulo niya kulang sa dilig eh. Dapat nagconsult ka sa OB. Pero kung wala namang sinabi na maselan pregnancy niya then you don't have to worry."
"Nami-miss rin kaya niya yun?"
"Naman, siyempre. Inaraw-araw mo tapos bigla mong tatanggalin, iinit talaga ulo non. Bro, ang babae, gusto nila yung minamanyak sila kasi lambing naman natin sa kanila yun eh. Naku Alden, bumawi ka."
"Oo nga kuya, parang masisira na ulo ko. Sige, sige, mamaya babawi ako sa kanya."

Alden took Maine home right after Eat Bulaga so that she could take a nap while he prepared his surprise for her. He wanted to give Maine her very first baby shower, something just the two of them would celebrate. He regrets not thinking of this sooner, they never really celebrated the announcement of their twins, even after it was already reported in the news. He got so consumed with watching Maine's well-being to the exclusion of everything else. Now was the time to make up for that.
He quickly set up a party table complete with décor, festive sweets and refreshing lemonade to counter her nausea. While she was still sleeping, he quickly showered and changed, getting into a comfy white shirt and shorts. He slid into the bed beside her, spooning her body close to his, nuzzling her neck. She stirred, burrowing herself deeper into his body, wrapping his arm closer to her.
"Baby, wake up na. Mmmmm, you smell so good." He couldn't resist putting a hand over her breast, gently stroking her, loving the feel of a pebbled tip. He had to restrain himself, wanting her to see his surprise first. Save the best for last, he told himself, tempering his desire.
She stretched gracefully, turning to him and smiled. She seemed in a good mood, the nap doing her good. He smiled back, reaching out a hand to trace her lips, then kissed her. But just as she was about to deepen the kiss, he pulled back, noting her confusion.
"Kain na tayo babe, I'm sure gutom ka na." He got up and helped her up, admiring her long legs and the way her breasts seem fuller despite the weight she lost.
"Anong meron?" She asked, looking at him in puzzlement.
"Huh? Wala," He deadpanned. He got out his phone, switched it to video mode and started taking a video of her as they were going out of the bedroom.
"Eh bat mo ko kinukunan ng video?"
"Dinodocument ko paglaki ng baby, daming tanong ha."
"Oh my goodness, Alden ano to?"

Paper lanterns adorned their living room, in vivid colors contrasting nicely against the white walls. Their coffee table was filled with sweets on glass jars, a two-layer cake, a dispenser filled with icy lemonade and a wrapped gift. She felt a lump on her throat and looked at Alden.

"Para sakin to, babe? Anong okasyon?"
"Love, this is your first baby shower. Siyempre ako dapat ang unang magbigay ng shower sayo, at magsa-shower tayong sabay mamya--- aray!" He laughed, rubbing his side where she pinched it. He hugged her to him and kissed her on the forehead, indulging her waterworks.
"Babe, celebrate natin yung good news na magkaka-twins tayo. Sorry, ngayon lang tayo makakapag-celebrate, nawindang lang ako sa balita saka wala akong nasasaisip kundi yung safety mo. Ingat na ingat akong may mangyari sayo kasi ayokong mahirapan ka."
They feasted on her favorite prosciutto and arugula pizza, making sure she took lemonade to avoid feeling unwell. The chocolate cake with butter cream was delicious, Alden was so happy to see Maine eat both the pizza and cake with her usual appetite.
"Busog ba baby ko?" He asked, wiping some frosting from the corner of her mouth.
"Sobra," she said , sitting on his lap, pinching his cheeks. "Busog ako, kailangan matagtag, haha."
"Sige, I have an idea." He plugged his phone to the amplifier. "There's this song I really like, it reminds me of you, and how I cannot get enough of you. Babe, I have been abstaining from intimacy with you because I was so careful not to harm you and the baby. But I realize in being too careful, I missed out on bonding more with you. So that's going to change. "
The music started to play, it was also one of Maine's current favorite songs. Starving, a song by Hailee Steinfeld played. Alden took her hand asking her to dance to the song. It wasn't a slow song nor was it a fast one, just the right tempo for grooving and that's just what they did. The song was on loop, playing repeatedly as they sang the lyrics while grooving to the beat.

On its third repeat, Alden pulled her close and kissed her, as they still continued to groove to the music. How come he thought of doing this just now? He remembered all the dance numbers they did together, when her body moved so close against his, when he lifted her up, letting the whole length of her body slide onto his, giving him a bulge in his pants that the fans got excited about. Yes, even his junjun was newsworthy, and it thrilled the fans how Maine always excited his thing.
And now he had the luxury of not restraining that bulge, and consummating his desire. She seemed to be having the same thought, as she started one of their dance routines that matched the beat of the music. Seductively, her body rubbed against his, lifting one of her legs up as he caught her under her thigh and twirled, while French-kissing her. They stood still, their hands all over each other, their lips locked till they were breathless.
"I missed you, RJ." She kissed his chin, her tongue running over his jaw, biting his ear then sucking it to ease the sting.
He carried her to their bedroom, singing to her "By the way, right away, you do things to my body, I didn't know that I was starving 'til I tasted you."
They were two "starving" bodies, got together that night, driven by the days without the intimacy. The one good thing that abstinence brought on for them was that they tasted sweeter this time around.
