"Hatred"
• Aira's pov •
"So you're saying that the reason you fell in love with Minyoung is because of that ice cream incident?!", I yelled as he sighed deeply
"She, I mean you, you captivated me when you took off your glasses. Don't blame me", he gave me a sly smirk as I hit him in his chest
"No wonder Minyoung never remembered when I asked her about this, it was not her all along", he ruffled his hair and looked at me
"What? It's in the past and things happened for a reason, you mustn't regret it", I crossed my arms
"But isn't it faith if we meet again after all these years? Don't you think we both-"
I know exactly what he's going to say, I don't how I'll react so I cut him off.
"No, stop it. I'm not having this conversation with you", I stood up and began walking
"Yah where are you going! We can use the car you know", Jungkook shouted but I ignored him.
The reason I decided to walk is because I need to clear my mind and set aside my... I don't know how to say this, attraction? Like I feel all tingly when he said about me being captivating. Ugh stop thinking about him, Aira.
I feel a strong pair of hands grabbed my shoulder and spun me around. I blankly stared at Jungkook as he catches his breath
"Yah, didn't you hear me calling you at all?! You might get hit by a car", his face showed concern as I looked around my surrounding.
Was I walking towards the road when the lights were still green?
"Sorry, I was just thinking about something", I quietly muttered as he sighed and patted my head
"You scared the living shit out of me, I'll never be able to forgive myself if something happened to you", he then pulled me to a quick embrace and let go.
Suddenly my stomach started to make a rambling sound which made Jungkook burst out laughing
"Let's eat", he gently grabbed my wrist and dragged me to his car
Jungkook took me to a grilled pork ribs restaurant and I remembered that this is Hyungwon's favorite restaurant. I kept quiet because I didn't want Jungkook to question me further.
"I'll eat well", My mouth watered at the sight in front of me.
Jungkook dived right in as soon as I said that and joy was written all over his face.
"It's so good!", I cheered as Jungkook agreed as well. He then looked up and grinned evilly at me
"What? Something on my face?", I asked him
"If my hands weren't dirty, I would take a picture of your face right now and use it later to blackmail you", he chuckled and grabbed a tissue
He gently removed the oil from my face as I gulped. He was so close and he was openly staring at my lips.
My body betrayed me since it didn't resist the close distance, until my eyes decided to looked upfront.
A pair of eyes were shooting daggers at us and I broke away from Jungkook immediately.
"Hyungwon", I desperately let out as Jungkook clenched his fists. I saw who's standing behind him and my heart broke to thousand pieces.
• Hyungwon's pov •
"This is fucking boring, can I just go home already?", I tapped my feet while crossing my arms as Yoora rolled her eyes
"Just a minute, should I get the white one or the blue one?", she showed me the clothes as I groaned
"What kind of plan is this actually? I'm not here to be your shopping buddy", I rolled my eyes as she put down her clothes
"Stop with the nagging! I bet you never went shopping with Aira", she snorted as I shook my head
"It's different. Aira is pretty no matter what she wears and she didn't have to bother picking a color from two identical clothing", I smirked as she stomped her feet
"Mock me all you want, I'm not even hurt", She's lying... her face went red when I teased her just now.
"Tell me one reason why I should stay here"
"In order to make our relationship looked real, we need chemistry and if we can show that we're close, I'm sure both Jungkook and Aira will realize what they're missing", she explained
"That's just some bullshit. I'm out of here", I stood up from the seat and walked out of the store
I remembered this street. My favorite pork ribs restaurant was right around the corner. I walked lightly to the restaurant as I remembered when I first took Aira here.
Her face was priceless, she said the ribs are the best thing she had ever eaten. I laughed to myself as Yoora caught up to me.
"Yah tall guy, could you at least walk slower?! I had to carry all these bags you know", she complained but I just shrugged and continue walking
I opened the restaurant door and scanned the surrounding, another memory flashed through my mind.
We were eating together while laughing... She always eat so messily. I remember wiping the mess from her small face...
The memory suddenly became so real. I can see her sitting right there, but... with another guy.
"Hyungwon", she called out my name and I felt like someone stabbed my heart.
I acted out of instinct and dragged her out of the store. She tried to pulled away but my grip was stronger.
It was at a nearby park that she managed to pull away from my grip and I turned around to face her.
"What was that for?!", she hissed while rubbing her red wrist.
"What were you doing with Jungkook?", I coldly asked as she shook her head
"Why should I tell you? We're strangers anyway", she glared at me and I can feel her anger at me
"We have only broken up for a week yet you already went all googly eyes with that bastard", I snorted as she clicked her tongue
"Same thing to you. I bet you're having a blast with the kind of girl that you used to date before me, all flashy and showy with body curves", I can sense a hint of jealousy in her tone
"Oh look who's jealous", I smirked as her face went red
"Are you done teasing me?! I'm so sick of this", Aira groaned in frustration as my face softens
"Aira", I called out as she covered her ears. Tears were forming in her eyes.
"Don't call my name like that! You should go back to your fiancee, people might misunderstood", she turned around to leave but I caught her wrist
"I'm sorry for what I had said that night and today", My voice was shaky as she stood there, back facing me.
"I didn't mean it", I opened up again but this time she turned around and looked deep into my eyes
"I'm stupid to think that you'll wait for me. I brainstormed everyday for a week to come up with a plan so you won't have to marry Yoora, but I guess it's useless because all you did when we met was to blame me", she wiped her tears as I held her hand
"You think I want to marry that slut? You always judged me one sidedly without actually asking me! How do you think I feel when I saw you with Jungkook? Stop being so selfish, Aira", it came out as scolding as her eyes were shaking now and she stepped back
"It's always going to be my fault, isn't it? Okay, if that's what you want, I'll take the blame. Thankyou for everything, Chae. Hope you have a great life with your slut", she spitted out as I realized what I had said
"No, Aira, it came out wrongly I-"
"STOP TALKING! Ugh I hate you Chae", she cried out but I hugged her
"No, please don't say that. I love you", Tears are flowing out of my eyes
"Huh love? Such a fantasy for this cruel world", she snorted and pushed me away from her.
She began to walk away again but I shouted out her name. She stopped but she didn't turn back to see me.
"Tell me you didn't mean it, Aira. Take back what you said about hating me, Aira please", I begged while walking towards her
"Aira, I beg you", I cried out
"I hate you, Chae Hyungwon", she coldly spoke without turning back and ran further from me.
I watched her back disappeared as I fall on my knees. I am suffocating, I can't breathe. I looked up to see the now empty park and tears filled my eyes.
