"You have to tell him, and you need to go to the hospital before it gets too bad."
"I want to tell him, I just... I know it's gonna hurt him. I don't want to hurt him, he's been through a lot." I leaned my head against Ro's shoulder as tears fell from my eyes.
"Look, you've both been through a lot, but if you keep this from him it'll only make shit worse, you need him to be there,"
"Him and Ky's birthdays are a day apart, and they're in a week. You need to tell him soon,"

"What we doin' this year fam?" I looked up from my phone and shook my head
"I forgot that shit was even comin up B," Ky looked at me sideways
"How you forget about yo own damn birthday? More importantly nigga, how you gone forget about my birthday?"
"She sick man," I didn't have to tell him who, he already knew. He rubbed his hands down his face
"You know what it is?" I shook my head in frustration
"She keep saying that she good, that it ain't shit wrong, but I know she just tryns cover it up... she was coughing up blood, throwing up and shit B, I don't know what to do,"
"Bro, what if lil ma is just..."
Nylas POV
~A COUPLE DAYS EARLIER~
"You've just come out of a coma, you have weak kidneys, and you're having complications with your already unstable lungs. You do know that don't you Ms.August?" I looked down and pulled down the paper dress that they made me put on.
"Yes I'm aware."
"And you refuse to check yourself into the hospital or just simply go on the recommended bed rest," the doctor continued.
"Right," My phone started vibrating but I ignored it
"And you want to go through with this... uhm, naturally?" I nodded
"You do realize you're putting your life at risk don't you? The complications you're having already is nothing compared to the ones you're going to have later on. If you want to do this you need to take better care of yourself."
"I know, I just-,"
"Have you considered abortion?"

Dinner
No words have really been shared since we got to the restaurant and now he's on the phone.
The waitress came back with our food and just the smell of it made me sick to my stomach but I tried to hold it in.
He raised an eyebrow at me from across the table, I'm sure that my facial expression gave away how disgusted I am.
"Na that's a hundred racks right there, I want the drop made tonight." He said to the person on the other line
I couldn't take it anymore. I got up from the table and rushed to the bathroom only to hear Carter tell the person on the phone that he had to go.
I emptied everything that I had in my stomach into the toilet which wasn't much since I haven't been able to really eat lately.
I got up and rinsed my mouth out in the sink. When I looked in the mirror I saw Carter standing behind me.
He wrapped his arms around me and laid his head in the crook of my neck
"How far are you?" his voice was enough to let me know not to play with him right now.
"8 and a half weeks... twins," as I said it tears fell from my eyes.
He turned me around and sat me down on the sink. He wiped the tears that were falling from my eyes with the pads of his thumbs.
"You're not showing though..." as he spoke more tears fell "fuck...what's wrong?" I looked away.
"T-Their not growing like they're supposed to...The doctors said that my body isn't stable enough to nurture them, that the chance of them dying in the first three to four months is so high because of all the complications that I might as well just get an abortion..They want me to kill my babys." I broke down completely and he pulled me to his chest, holding me tightly
"It's gonna be alright, I'm gonna take care of you... us....all of us." I got off of the sink.
"This is all my fucking fault! I put you through all this bullshit and all you want is a family ,but I can't even give you a that,"
