"Destiny"
• Aira's pov •
I was staring emptily at the ceiling as my phone kept buzzing. I looked over to the newspaper laying on the floor and tears formed in my eyes.
"I'm so stupid", I sobbed quietly as I heard someone knock on the door
"Noona, it's me", I sighed at the voice and closed my eyes
"Noona, I know you can hear me. It has been a week, this is not healthy", he knocked on the door again as I covered my face with a pillow
Go away, Minggyu.
"I don't think she'll open the door", I heard Minggyu mumbled to someone
"Are you sure? The door is locked from inside, there's no way-"
BAM!
I jumped out of the bed when I heard the sound of my bedroom door broken.
"What the hell?!", I yelled as I looked up to see someone I didn't expect.
"Hey noona! Jungkook hyung was serious when he said he'll break the door down", Minggyu gave him a thumbs up
"I'll be downstairs if you need me", Minggyu yelled as I heard his footsteps faded away
"You look like a very hot mess right now", he smirked as my eyes widen
"How did you-", I was dumbfounded
"It took me a week to find your house but that's okay though"
I shot him a look then averted my gaze to the door.
"Sorry about the door, I'll send someone to fix it", he walked towards me and pulled me up from the floor.
I pushed him away but he caught my wrist.
"Get lost, Jungkook", I snorted but Jungkook just smirked
"Nope, you can't stay here forever. I'm going to take you out", he said with a smug face
"Not gonna happen", I yanked his hand away and slumped on the bed
He forcefully threw me over his shoulder and I have no power to go against him.
"Put me down, please", I ordered as he chuckled
"This is the first time you said something nice to me, but no, you're going to shower and go out with me", he put me down inside the bathroom and about to close the door
"But-", I whined as he gave me a sly smile
"Why? you don't want to shower? I can come in with you-"
"Okay I'll shower now get out!", I slammed the door out of anger
I felt the cold water running through my skin as I closed my eyes. Thousand thoughts ran through my mind but it's mostly Hyungwon. I let out a small tear and sighed.
"This is what you decided for yourself, Aira. This is all you", I blamed myself repeatedly
• Jungkook's pov •
I was looking around her bedroom while waiting. It was a bit messy but still tolerable since I heard from Minggyu that Aira locked herself up for a week.
I ran my fingers through my hair when I saw a picture of her and Hyungwon, alongside with I believe are presents from Hyungwon.
"Way to go Hyungwon, bringing sentimental gifts for your girl to make her fall harder for you", I hissed as I saw it.
Aira was smiling in all this pictures. I missed her smile...
We were in my car now and Aira was awfully quiet. She didn't even ask where I'm taking her. I saw a convinience store as I was driving. I decided to stop and Aira looked over to me with confused look.
"This is where you're taking me?", she said with sarcasm as I shook my head
"Wait here", I got out of the car and rushed inside.
I came back with a big plastic bag and handed it to Aira. She opened it and I'm glad that she finally let out a small laugh
"Are these all in green tea flavors?", she chuckled as I nodded
"I know that you like green tea, but I don't know which one you prefer so I bought everything", I sheepishly smile as she suddenly went quiet.
She blankly stared at the food. I was confused at her expressionless face but she looked up to me all of the sudden.
"Thankyou, I really appreciate it", her lips curled up into a smile as I sighed in relief
"You're not upset anymore? Thank god you're smiling", I proceed to drive again as I saw Aira opening a cup of green tea ice cream.
"You want some?", she offered but I declined
"Nope, I know you're hungry", I stated but Aira won't listen as she feed me the ice cream
"Good isn't it? I used to buy this brand when I was in middle school", she grinned as I raised an eyebrow
"There's only one store that sold this brand back when we were in middle school", I stated
"Yeah I know, it's next to my middle school", she said while eating the ice cream
"No, it was my school", I clarified but she gave me a puzzled look
"Pretty sure it's my school, it's called X Middle School", she stated and my eyes suddenly widen
"That's my middle school!", I half-yelled as Aira almost spilled her ice cream
"You're batch 18?", I asked again as she nodded like a child
"No way! We went to the same school?! But how come I never see you?", Aira curiously asked as I shrugged
"I wasn't that popular back in the days and maybe you were really ugly and nerdy so I didn't notice you", I teased her as she lightly hit my arm
"So you're saying you're popular now? such confidence", she snorted as I smirked
"Of course I am", it became silent for a moment until Aira asked something
"Wait, I think I do know you", she looked over to me as I gave her a confused look
"Back at the store where this ice cream was sold, I spilled ice cream all over your shirt", she carefully stated as I remembered the old days
"No, no. I remembered that a girl spilled ice cream all over me but it was not you, it was Min-", I cleared my throat as I looked over at Aira.
"Pretty sure it was you. You were wearing a red hoodie right?", My jaw dropped at her statement
Could it be? After all these years, I was wrong? Aira and Minyoung do have similar features...
"But... were you wearing a pink sweater and this big nerdy glasses when it happened?", I scanned her face to look for answer as she chuckled and nodded
"Yes! See, we have met before! Such a small world", she grinned as I grip on the steering wheel and turned the car around in full speed causing her to jump out of her seat
"Yah Jeon Jungkook! You scared the hell out of me, where are we going?!", she yelled as I stepped on the gas
"Our middle school"
• Aira's pov •
Standing in front of my old middle school brought so many nostalgic memories. The school building was still the same, but there's more improvements, like the grass field, it wasn't there when I studied here.
I saw the now closed convenience store. I heard the kind ahjumma that owned the store passed away.
Jungkook was awfully silent since then and he stood beside me. Eyes still scanning his surroundings.
"Yah, why are you so quiet? Did I say something wrong?", I nudged him but he ignored me
He then walked closer to the store and I trailed behind him. His face was unreadable but I can see in his eyes that he was reminiscing the past.
"Was the weather scorching hot when that incident happened?", he quietly muttered as I nodded
"Yeah, I was really upset because I stumbled upon a rock and wasted my beautiful ice cream. It was my own money that I saved up", I shook my head and Jungkook looked utterly taken aback.
"What did you say to me when I refused to buy you a new ice cream?", I gave him a confused look as he looked deeply into my eyes
"I can't really remember but I think I said-"
"You selfish emo", I gasped at his words and nodded
"Exactly what I said! You still remember?", He held his forehead and suddenly laughed which scared me a bit
"Yah, are you okay? Do you need to go to the doctor?", I held his shoulder but he suddenly grabbed my waist and pulled me closer to him
"Ju-jungkook, what-"
"I was wrong all this time", his eyes saddened and I can see tears forming in his eyes
"Huh?"
"I was wrong. My first love was not Minyoung", he said with a shaky voice
"How is that possible? If it's not her, then who is it?", I looked at his face waiting for answer
"It's you"
as promised i've update a new chapter and i hope you like it, i'm having a writer's block so i apologize if the chapter sucks. i will try my best to make it more exciting i swear.
