underneath her fake smiles,
her hazel colored eyes,
her complicated persona,
she was a broken heart.
because underneath her facade,
was a deep and troubled past,
along with an unseen future,
and an uncertain present.
she hid it from everyone.
they wouldn't understand.
they never did.
because they didn't go through any of it.
not like she did.
her mother abandoned her.
and now she lives with a father who never wanted her.
and he doesn't shy away from reminding her.
how she was never wanted.
