Caden

I splashed water on my face and rose my head up to stare at my reflection in the mirror. I could see the panic in my eyes. I placed a hand on my chest and felt my heart racing so fast. One look at my hand and I could see how shaky they were. I gulped down hard as I walked away from the sink.

Is this really happening? Did he... I placed a hand on my lips. Did he really kiss me? I definitely heard him say the words 'I love you'.

I dug my fingers into my hair. Everything happened so fast. I'm so puzzled and now... My eyes shifted to my suitcase lying on the floor.

Do I actually have something to wear tonight?

Without wasting a second more, I crouched to the ground, unzipped the bag and began going through for anything to wear. As I went deeper, I fell into frustration. There was really nothing worth wearing tonight.

A sigh left my lips. How could I have imagined today would be the day? When I made the decision to come see him, I also kept it in mind that I might be rejected and I wasn't going to cry about it if that so happens but the opposite happened.

I rose up a white satin sleeveless nightwear and stared at it for a while. Well, this could work.

Suddenly, I was reminded of the five minutes I told Blayze to give me. Quickly, I got up to my feet, took off my clothes and rushed off to the shower.

Once more, I stood in front of the mirror now dressed in the nightie I'd picked out. I shuffled my hair with the towel, trying my best to dry it and stop it from dripping so much water. I was able to succeed as little as I could.

For a moment, I stared at my reflection and practiced a few smiles. I played with my hair, attempting any style that could make me look a little bit sexy. I tried a smoldering look, I laughed, I acted and in the end, I chuckled at my silliness.

Five minutes. I was reminded of the fact that I'd spent more time than I promised so quickly, I hurried off towards the door.

I took in a deep breath, put on my smile and pulled the door open. I stepped out, my eyes wandering all over for any sign of him but he was nowhere to be seen. I went further and found him on the sofa, as I drew closer, I noticed his eyes were shut.

No way. Has he... did he fall asleep?

I wondered as I stared down at him. Leaning down a bit, I waved a hand over his eyes and yet he made no move. I felt upset as I stood straight once more, folding my arms below my chest. I waited so long for him and yet, he couldn't wait for just a few minutes for me.

Giving up, I let my arms fall right back to my side as I turned away to leave. I'd barely taken two steps when I felt a grip on my hand and then a pull, I lost balance and fell right back. Looking up to my side, I met his eyes staring back into mine. Out of surprise, I stared back a little dumbfounded.

"You took longer than five minutes." He stated as he pushed a few strands of my wet hair away from my face.

My heart raced quite fast and even faster when I realized I was seated on top of his laps. I opened my mouth for words to flow out but I couldn't seem to get them to roll out.

"I... I'm sorry." Was all I could say. I watched as he lowered his eyes for a moment and soon, they were back up on me.

"It doesn't matter. You're here." He added as he expressed what would seem like a smile. I couldn't help but express a smile of my own.

As he stood to his feet whilst carrying me in his arms, I wrapped my arms around his neck even though I couldn't seem to stop my heart from threatening to jump out of my chest.

Gently, I was laid on the bed. I adjusted, burying my legs beneath the duvet and watched as he took off his shirt then trouser. Carefully, he got into the bed, on top of me and for a moment, stared into each other's eyes. I was first to lower my eyes out of shyness.

I felt his hand gently soothe my cheek. I lifted my eyes back up to meet his.

"I love you too." I admitted in what would seem like a whisper. In that moment, I saw my confession had taken him a little aback but soon after, the widest smile I'd ever seen on him drew across his face and he drew his face closer, sealing our lips in a passionate kiss. The rest of the night was much more beautiful than I'd ever expected and although our first meeting wasn't in the least bit pleasant but I felt grateful to be given the chance to love him and I was going to do so for as long as I live.

Blayze

It was the first time in a long time that I'd had a goodnight's rest and it was because I had her by myself. Recalling our first memorable night together, I felt like the happiest man in the world.

A moving shadow castes over my shut eyes and lazily, I managed to open my eyes. My gaze fell on her sleeping face and I couldn't help the smile that drew on my face. I shifted closer and carefully pushed a few strands of her hair away from her face. In that moment, I was quick to notice the light crease that appeared for a second between her brows. A closer look at her and I realized what she was up.

I leaned closer. "I know you're awake." I stated and watched as a slow but sure smile carved up on her face. A light chuckle followed as she opened her eyes.

Our eyes met and she momentarily lowered her eyes. I could tell she was a little shy. It was the first time we looked into each other's eyes after the night we spent together.

"How did you know?" She questioned and as I stared at her, I saw the anticipation for an answer in her eyes. To me, it only made her seem cute. She was beautiful and regardless of my shortcomings; I was blessed with having her in my life. I leaned closer and shared a soft kiss with her.

"I just know." I answered as I leaned away from the kiss. A smile played on her face and I continued our kiss.

I watched as she stared at the menu in her hands, attentively as she could. A light smile curled up on the side of my face. Suddenly, she set the menu down and leaned a little towards me.

"I can't seem to decide so you tell me which order is perfect for a breakfast here." Her statement sounded like she was giving up but at the same time sounded like she was asking for an opinion.

I raised a hand. "Waiter."

Soon, one was by our side. I picked up the menu and pointed to a dish. "We'll have this."

The waiter nodded and was soon on his way. As I shifted my eyes back to her, I noticed she stared at me funny.

"It would seem you're a regular here."

"Not exactly." I countered and watched as a light crease formed between her brows.

It would seem she held back whatever she had to say as she let out a light sigh then glanced around.

"This is really a beautiful hotel."

"You... really like it?"

She steadied her eyes on me. "Yes." She replied with a charming smile before looking elsewhere.

"You can have it." I blurted out.

Her eyes were back on me. "What?"

"I said you can have it. I own it."

"What!?" Her surprise was more than I'd expected. After what would seem like a little while, she leaned back in her seat.

"You're ready to give up ownership... just like that?" She queried and I nodded. Honestly, I didn't see anything wrong with doing that. She's my wife and I want her to always be happy. I have something that makes her happy so it's not a big deal to let her have it.

A light chuckle left her lips and though I didn't know what that exactly meant, I was just happy to see her smiling.

"Tell me, what exactly is your family business?"

"Everything."

"Everything?"

"Um... nearly everything. Any business that makes money. We're more of a conglomerate. We're bigger than you'd expect."

I watched as a slight surprise detailed in her eyes and bit by bit, she nodded her head in accordance.

She lowered her eyes and murmured "so much money and yet you couldn't let my father's little debt go."

"What?"

"Nothing" She defended right away as she rose her eyes back up to me.

I couldn't help the smile that curled on my face as I stared at her just as she looked elsewhere. To her understanding, I didn't hear a word but I'd heard clearly. Back then, it must have been evil of me but having her presently in front of me, I couldn't help but think that was the best decision I ever made.

Sooner than we expected, the waiter was back and I loved how Caden's eyes lit up at the mere sight of the food that was placed in front of her. Without wasting a second more, she dug in and I took the pleasure in watching her eat.

"Caddy?"

We both looked up nearly at the same time and noticed the stranger that stared down at Caden. I watched as Caden gulped down the food she was chewing and immediately stood to her feet.

"Richard?" She asked and he nodded. They hugged and I couldn't help furrowing at that.

"Wow, you're... it's been really long." He added and she nodded.

"Yes and..." She looked my direction. "This is my husband Blayze Norman." She introduced and he stretched out a hand to me for a handshake. For a moment, I was hesitant but I ended up accepting his handshake. They continued their discussion for a little more while and every second of it made me furious and irritable. I didn't want to listen in anymore. Finally, they said their goodbyes and soon, he was gone.

She took her seat and continued with her breakfast. I wanted to keep shut but... I just couldn't.

"Who... who was that man?" I asked while still maintaining my cool.

"Richard? Well, he's an old friend, classmate, first love, neighbor..."

"Wait what!?" I had to stop her in the middle because clearly, I must have heard wrong.

"What did you say?"

"Neighbor?"

"No, before that. You... you said first love." I pointed out, hoping I heard wrong.

"Yes. He's my first love. I know yours so I don't see the big deal in hiding mine. There, I told you." She confessed quite easier than I'd expected but of course, it's because no feelings are attached anymore. Yet, I looked back, catching a glimpse of the young man once more, I couldn't help the light fury I felt inside.

Caddy

I recalled the nickname he called her by and only felt more upset.

"You're not by any chance jealous, are you?" suddenly, she asked, narrowing her eyes at me.

I sat up straight, raising up my chin and crossing my arms below my chest, I replied calmly. "No." She didn't need to know how I truly felt. I know, feeling upset about my wife's childish first love was stupid but I couldn't help the feeling either.

A light chuckle left her lips. "Tsk, tsk... you're really trying so hard to pretend not to be jealous of him, aren't you?" She added and I couldn't help furrowing my brows at her.

"Well, for what it is worth, I'm loving seeing you jealous. You look cute."

I looked away from her, feeling a little defeated.

"I'm not jealous." I murmured.
