Mrs. Walls had moved me into a spare bedroom we had that Mrs. Mulli had when she helped Mrs. Walls. She left about a year ago and the room was empty expect for a bed and a wardrobe and chest. I didn't want to stay in a room with hormonal teenage girls any longer and being bald wasn't going to make my life any easier.
It had been two days since my night in the garden, when my first fistful of hair fell but that was only the start. Today Mrs. Walls was gonna finish it. I had a few bald spots- too much hair loss in certain places. Sooner or later it would all fall of. I sighed and sat in the chair in front of the vanity.
It didn't take long until I was standing in front of the mirror in my bedroom. It had a crack through it. Just one long crack straight through the middle. I ran shaky fingers over my head and it was smooth as it could be. I closed my eyes and say on my bed with my head in my hands.

I had bought a few hats and beanies the day before and I slid on one of my caps. It was a camouflage CAT hat that I fitted on my head. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding and snuck out the orphanage, the small building that was connected to buildings on either side of it. I stepped outside and I felt the warm air blow into my face. I had put on light mascara and lipgloss. I didn't like being ugly and my hair used to be something I didn't look in the mirror and wish it was different. I walked through the wooden gate and saw Zach wasn't here yet. I sat down quietly and swung it back and forth with my feet. The gate creeks open and piercing Amber eyes meet mine. My eyes widened and I stood abruptly. He was wearing a familiar baseball cap I'd seen him wear all the time. But no hair peeked from his cap either. Not one strand. I walk over to him and take the cap off of his head. Hairless. Just like me. I turned around on my heels and lean against the nearest tree, burning my face into my palms and crying out. I feel comforting hands around my waist and then I feel Zach burrow his head in my shoulder. I turn toward him and wrap my arms around his neck. He kisses my temple and holds onto me. I pull away slightly and examine his perfect features. Wait... What? I was amazed. I wasn't used to somebody actually caring. Someone actually cared.

I sit in my room alone that night. I smiled at the thought and lay my head on my pillow.
