Chapter 21- Like We're Made Of Starlight
-Recap-
“No!” Louis yelled out as he broke down, sobbing uncontrollably.
“Lou? Boo? Please open up the door?” Harry whispered lowly, lovingly. “It's okay babe,..you made a small mistake, everyone does,”
“NO! DON'T YOU FUCKING GET IT?” Louis yelled between sobs “I'm a monster Harry,...a monster,”
“Lou, you're not a monster. You had,..had a bad childhood. But that's not important,..you're the man that I fell in love with Lou. That is what important,”
“You fell in love with a monster Haz,” Lou spoke brokenly “You fell in love with a broken, sick, beyond repair monster,”
He wants something cuddly, lots of touches, kisses and hugs.
He wants a perfect date planned for Liam, because his boyfriend deserves it. Especially after Joel’s second chemotherapy which went quiet horrible; Joel was a crying mess and Liam was holding onto Niall like he was his lifeline. Liam’s mother was there so they tried really hard to keep the PDA on a really minimum level, which was excruciatingly hard for both of them. Joel’s med was even worse; it was huge and difficult for the little boy to swallow, and he had to take five different meds, twice a day. So, Niall thinks that a perfect date would totally lift up Liam’s spirit.
Niall decided that they should spend a whole day together, instead of just a small dinner. He hasn’t fully planned on how the date should be, but he does want to include the carnival in it. Like a little boy, Niall loves the carnival; Zaynie always take him on his birthday, and they would spend the whole day together, riding nearly all the rides, and Niall’s favorite, the bumper car. There were loads of food there too.
He currently sitting beside Joel's bed, where the little boy is currently showering with a help of a very nice plump nurse with wild curly black hair. Niall had his thick black rimmed glass on as he scribbled date ideas on a piece of paper along with his calculus homework. The bed was messy with Niall's papers and stationary. Unbeknownst to him, his Aspergers syndrome was the reason he was so unorganized, just like his school locker, his bedroom and his bag pack. He got on a huge sweater that belonged to Liam, which his Tattooed Angel had put it on him the other day when he fell asleep on Liam's lap. It has Liam's smell on it, so every time he think of the muscular boy, he would took a sniff of the sweater, as creepy as it sounds. It was just a simple blue sweater that was slightly big for him, with the number thirteen written on the back in white. While brainstorming for ideas and sniffing Liam's sweatshirt, a small idea struck him; he should make a list of things he want to achieve by the end of the date. A list that will tell him that the date was a success. Excitedly, he pulled out a crumpled up piece of paper, flattening it out so he could write down on it properly. He bit his bottom lip in concentration as he figures out what should be on top of the list. He started of with;
Three big smiles from Liam
Four hugs from Liam
Three kisses on the cheek from Liam
Eight kisses on other parts of the face from Liam.
Okay,..what else should he add? Or is it already enough? Niall pondered for second, and taking a sniff of Liam's sweater, and immediately, a few ideas popped out for him to add into the list.

A kiss during the roller coaster ride from Liam
“Neil!!” Joel's small cherry voice erupted in the room, breaking his concentration.
“Hey Joel,” He greeted the small boy back. He put all his pens and papers on the bed so he could open his arms for the small boy. Instantly, Joel's small body crashed onto his.
“Hey buddy,” Niall hugged the boy that was burying his face in his tummy, his small arm wrapped around Niall’s torso.
“Missed you,” He giggled.
“But you’ve only been in the shower for ten, fifteen minutes,” Niall laughed, ruffling his freshly shampooed hair that vaguely smelled like green apples and strawberry.
“Nope! Still miss you!” He disagreed, laughing at his own answer.
“Well I miss you too,” Niall played along.
“Whatchu doin’?” Joel asked, just like the way Uncle Lou does as he crawls his way up Niall’s lap. Once he makes himself comfortable on his lap, he pointed at the pile of papers and pens on his hospital bed. “What’s that?”
“Homework,” Niall answered truthfully, “And planning a date for me and Li-li,”
“Date? W-What is a date?” Joel asked, looking up at Niall with wide eyes, his head tilted to the side.
“It’s umm,… It’s when umm,” Niall stuttered, confuse on how he can explain what a date is to a little so that he’ll understand. “It’s a small vacation,…..to show Li-li that ……I really like him,”. Well, it made sense in his head, but when he said it out loud, it sounded really silly.
“Vacation?” Joel questioned “Small vacation?”
“Y-Yeah, like taking Liam to his favorite place,”
“Oh,” Joel squeaked, before declaring “Can I help? I wanna help!”
“Do you know….what Li-Li likes?” Niall asked shyly.
“Well..uh,” Joel puts his index finger in his mouth and thinks “He-He like that thing, that thing-roller cozer?”
“Roller-coaster?” Niall corrected, smiling. If Liam likes roller-coaster, then his idea to take him to the carnival would be perfect.
“Yes,” Joel nodded firmly with a smile “He said…He said it was for big boys only. Li-li said when I’m a big boy he’s going to take me there,”
“That sounds nice,” Niall agreed. “Uh, w-what food does Li-li likes to eat?”
“Li-li like…..spaghetti with chicken! And chocolates!” Joel answered happily, reciting his brother’s favorite food that he remembers by heart “And Jell-O’s!”
“Spaghetti, chocolates,….and Jell-O’s?” Niall repeated in his head as he memorizes his boyfriend’s favorite food.
“Yeah! White sauce spaghetti with chicken, da..dark chocolates and yellow Jell-O’s!” Joel specified. Niall deducted that the red sauce is “But I like spaghetti with the white sauce and I like milk chocolate. Dark chocolate is yucky,”
“Yeah, I like milk chocolate too,” And Niall hated to admit that dark chocolate is…..yucky. It taste bitter and the color is too dark to be considered as chocolate.“Thank you Joel,”
“Did I help?” Joel asked hopefully.
“Yup! You helped me a lot,” Niall smiled kissing Joel on the nose, making the smaller boy giggle. “But you have to keep this a secret from Li-li okay? It is a s’prise. Now, what do you want to play?”
“I want to play……” Joel pondered for a second, but before he could answer, their favorite guy walked through the door, with a huge smile on his face. “Li-li!” Joel squealed as he jumped off of Niall’s lap, running towards his brother.
“Hey bub,” Liam catches Joel and lift him up, spinning him around. He began peppering kisses on Joel’s face, making him laugh, because it was one of those days that Joel’s wasn’t in pain because of the chemotherapy or he wasn’t tired because of the meds; it was a relief to see a genuine smile on his brother’s face. “How are you today baby?”
“I’m good,” Joel replied rubbing his thumb over Liam’s stubble “Tummy feels a little okay,”
“Good,… That’s good,” Liam mumbled, combing Joel's hair using his fingers. He walked with Joel still in his arms and carefully placed him on the bed. Niall, who was a tad surprise with his boyfriend’s sudden entrance, managed to shove all the pens and papers back into his bag pack swiftly, because it would be humiliating if Liam found out the plan he made for their date, and his 'achievement list'.
After placing his brother on the bed, Liam moved slowly toward his boyfriend, who was wearing his sweater and he had to admit, it look good on him, even if it was a tad bit big. With his glasses and that dorky smile on his face, Niall is the definition of perfection in Liam's eyes. He bent down and kissed Niall's delicious lips slowly but didn't take it further because Joel was in the room with them. Niall sighed happily into the kiss, the scent of his freshly showered boyfriend invaded his nostrils, calming and excites him at the same. Niall was the first one that pulled away from the kiss, with the dorky smile still plastered on his face, and Liam had to suppress the urge to hug the life out of his boyfriend. Liam pulled Niall out of the plastic chair where he was sitting and sat on it. He then proceeded to pull Niall so that he was sitting on his lap, and the gesture made Niall blush, even though Liam had done it countless of time.
“Sorry I was late babe,” Liam spoke lowly, kissing Niall's hair. “Mr. Higgins needed to talk to me about the tournament,”
“When is it?” Niall asked timidly, as they both watch Joel took out his treasure box filled with toys, probably rummaging through it to find something to play. “C-Can I go see it?”
“It's in two weeks time,...and you need to come,” Liam replied, curling his muscular arms around Niall's thin waist. “I need you to be there,”
“Y-You need me?” Niall asked, confused.
“You're my strength, so I need you to be there,” Liam replied smoothly, making Niall blush like a fried prawn. He was Liam's strength? But his Tattooed Angel is already string with or without him. Feeling like it was the right moment, Niall blurted out the invitation.
“A-About the d-date,...can we go tomorrow? I-I've planned everything,” Niall stuttered a bit, because he hadn't really plan the whole thing, but he was sure as hell ready.
“You've planned everything?” Liam asked with a smile, “But tomorrow is a school day right?”
“Y-Yes,” Niall fumbled with his fingers, panic rising in his stomach. “B-But I thought that it would be easier since there won't be too many people,”
“Okay then love,” Liam chuckled “My little rebellious boyfriend,”
“M'not little,” Niall huffed out, making Liam laugh even more.
“Neil! Li-li! I wanna play UNO!” Joel interrupted, holding a stack of UNO cards in the air with both hands.
“Let's play UNO then,” Liam agreed.
So that's how the three of them spent the evening; playing UNO cards in which they let Joel win but the truth was, Niall really sucked at playing UNO; the colors, symbol, and numbers made his head spin. It didn't help the fact that his boyfriend was constantly kissing his lips, neck and cheeks, with his right arm never left Niall's waist.

“Whoah!” Liam cheered excitedly, “The Carnival, Ni? Seriously?”
“Y-Yeah,” Niall shifted on his feet shyly. They just took a half an hour cab, in which he blindfolded his boyfriend, to The Carnival, a huge theme park just outside the town. Once they got off the cab, and Liam took off his blindfold, his jaw just dropped. The Carnival is a rather expensive place, but money was no problem Niall. The last time Liam was at the carnival, he was twelve year's old and Joel was barely a year old. He loved this place; it hold a lot of lovely memories when his family was still happy, and his father was still there. For some people, they like to avoid places that hold bitter-sweet memories like this, but for Liam, he treasured it and hopes that he could relieved it again. But the place was always too expensive, and he never had the time. And now, he's standing right in front of the huge entrance with his boyfriend.
Seeing the huge smile on Liam's face, the kind of genuine, bursting with happiness sort of smile, just makes Niall's heart melt. Liam looked like he was a normal happy seventeen year old boy, with no problems on his shoulder. His smile was brighter than the sun, like a real Tattooed Angel. Niall was happy that he was the one that cause the smile on Liam's face, even if it did cost him a day worth of school, and lying to his parents and Zaynie. It was the price he was willing to pay. He'd been to The Carnival a few time with Zayn, and they always had a blast together. Slowly, he walked up to Liam who was still gawking at the entrance and slipped a blue plastic bracelet around his wrist. The plastic bracelet is like a ticket in which you go on to all the rides in The Carnival so that you don't have to buy tickets, and it is really expensive. Liam was a tad shocked but when he saw what Niall slipped around his wrist, he gawks at it for a minute before turning to crush his boyfriend in a bear hug.
One hug, three more to go. Niall thought to himself, with the 'achievement list' crumpled in his pocket.
“This is- God, this is amazing Niall,” Liam breathed out. He pulled back and placed a long kiss on Niall's cheeks, lighting it up with a shade of pink. One kiss on the cheek, two more to go.
“Come on, let's go in!” Niall dragged Liam towards the entrance like an excited toddler.
But when they got inside, Liam was the one that acted like a toddler more than Niall. His eyes become wide with wonder and excitement as he saw many new rides and games that wasn't there when he was twelve. The sun was shining brightly today, and it makes Liam's brown eyes sparkles each time he smiles. The first ride they went on was the Top-Gun, where Niall didn't open his throughout the whole thing; not even when Liam kissed his eyelids twelve times, six on each eyelid. Twelve kisses on other parts of the face from Liam, it exceeded his supposed to be eight kisses. And he did have fun hearing Liam screams and laughed in happiness, and his hands never left Niall's. He loves this side of Liam, the side that lets his guards down.
After the awful ride, Liam hugged and snogged him right in front of everyone. One snog from Liam, one more to go and two more hugs to go- Niall is on a roll. Liam smiled devilishly after the snogging session that left Niall breathless, with a few people staring at them. If Niall knew this would happen, he should have added 'snogging in public' into his list. He apologized to Niall because he knew Niall hated those rough rides, but Niall shook it off, saying that he love hearing Liam screaming different curses while they're hanging upside down in the middle of the air. Liam threw his head back laughing at that statement, because on his Niall would love something like that.
Since Niall loved hearing Liam scream so much, he decided to go on all the 'scary rides' that includes the Spider Spinner, Ferris Wheel Swing, Wheel Of Death, and the Haunted Tunnel. Throughout all the rides, Niall somehow lost count on all the kisses, hugs and snogs Liam had given him between the rides or during it. His head was spinning with excitement, happiness and Liam. Everything was Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam, Liam.
It was the last ride that really got to Niall though. The Scream Coaster. It wasn't very long, but there were a lot of loops, and steep tracks. He had never been on the Scream Coaster before, and his parents and Zaynie had warned him not to. Niall stared with wide eyes at the treacherous tracks; he was already sweating profusely and he subconsciously grabbed Liam's hand tighter, making the larger boy looked at his boyfriend with worried eyes.
“Hey,..are you okay?” He asked, taking Niall's face with his free hand. “We don't have to if you don't want to,”
“N-No,” Niall objected, putting on a brave face. He knew that Liam likes the roller-coaster, and the date is all about making Liam happy. “I-I want t-to,”
“Are you sure babe?” Liam brushed away the hair that was sticking on Niall's forehead due to his sweat. “You don't have to force yourself you know, I don't want you to and I don't like it,”
“I-I-I'm scared,” Niall breathed out lowly, feeling like a small child all of a sudden. Liam slowly pulled his hand from Niall's grasp but proceeded to wrapped his hands around Niall's waist, bringing him closer to his broad muscular chest. Niall sighed happily as he buries his face into Liam's chest.
“We can go on another ride?” Liam suggested. He loves the roller-coaster, but his boyfriend is much much more important than some stupid ride.
“No!” Niall pulled away from Liam's chest “I want to do this..... You'll hold my hand right?”
“How about this,...throughout the whole ride, I promise that I will hold your hand,....and my lips will never leave yours,” Liam suggested.
“W-What?” Niall asked, a little bit confused.
“I'll kiss you throughout the whole ride,” Liam repeated with a smile “How does that sound?”
And that is exactly what Liam did. His lips never left Niall throughout the whole roller-coaster ride as their hands linked together. He may not experience the roller-coaster ride fully, but he wouldn't trade his experience of kissing his boyfriend on a roller-coaster ride for the world. And Niall felt like he was on top of the world as winds and screams blew past them, but their lips remained attached . It gives him a sense of,......bravery. He was scared, but at the same time, he was not. Like he was....fearless.
That he fearlessly love his Tattooed Angel.
