"Earth to, Bella" A voice snapped Isabella out of her thoughts as she rubbed her temples. It was Ellie rambling about God knows what as they sat in the Anderson&Co's cafeteria. She was probably going on and on about the new book which she read over the weekend and was convincing Isabella to read it too but she didn't pay any attention.
Her mind was constantly wandering off to a grey-black haired man who was supposedly called her father and who was trying pretty hard to get back into her life.
This morning he offered her a ride to the company along with some breakfast, he was being so sweet and caring that it was melting her heart, she was so eager to give him a chance but she haven't talk to Megan yet. Their father was a missing figure for them throughout their almost whole life but she was sure, it wouldn't be bad of they gave him a chance as everyone deserves a second chance.
"You look worried" Ellie said. Worried was a small word, she was stressing out. The past week has been very busy with her father being at her home almost every single day and sending her small texts like 'Good morning angel, I hope you're having a good day' to 'Good night angel, sweet dreams' He was being extremely sweet but a part of Isabella knew that he wanted to be back in their lives. He was same before her mother's death.
"I am, Ellie" Isabella ran a hand through her hair as she decided to take an advice from Ellie, hoping she would say something which would clear her mind. Ellie already knew about Isabella's past as she came over for a sleepover at her apartment and things just got complicated after she asked why she left New York so she had to tell her and the other reason being Ellie had became her closest friend so she put her trust in her and told her everything.
"Are you worried about this whole thing with your dad?" Ellie asked
"Yes, Ellie. I don't know what to do about this whole situation, a part of me wants to never look at him again but then another part me wants to take him back into our lives, my heart aches whenever I see this sadness in his eyes when he comes to my apartment and apologize for everything he had done. I don't know what to do Ell, I'm so confused" Isabella said as she sniffed at the end of the sentence wiping her tears
"You want to know what I think, Bella?" Ellie asked and Isabella nodded
"We both know that he was an abusive father, and my opinion about him is that he was a pathetic excuse for a father. Like who the hell abuses their daughter? My words may hurt you but he is a bastard, he abused you back then and just came back after so many years asking for forgiveness? If I was in your place, I would never ever look at him again and a single sorry doesn't fix everything and you know that but still ask Megan about it and give him a chance if you and Megan want to, remember nobody's forcing you to do anything it will be your decision okay?" Ellie breathed out after her mini speech
"You're right, Ellie. You're such a good friend, thanks" Isabella stood up and hugged her.
"Don't worry okay?" Ellie said. Isabella then glanced at her watch and saw that it was 10 minutes past lunch time. She panicked and bid goodbye to Ellie and went to the top floor.
She knocked the door to Seth's office, knowing he would start yelling because she was late. Her heart breathed fast as she remembered the scene when he was kissing her neck. She was confused because of his actions.
"Come in" He said firmly and Isabella slowly opened the door looking at the ground
"You're 10 minutes late" He said. Ofcourse. He was sitting at the edge of his desk.
"Would you punish me?" Isabella said out of nowhere trying to lighten his mood but instead he came near her causing her to panick.
You're such a dumb person, Bella. Why the heck you have to say that, her conscience said
She stood at her place and looked at the floor and closed her eyes making sure her ears could bear all the yelling but instead he felt his arms around her waist causing her to gasp. He was too close to her for her liking but it felt good, she saw his lips turn into a smirk and she placed her hands on his chest trying to push him but he didn't even bulged.
"I will punish you if you want me to" He whispered in her ear.
Yep, now he's going to give me more files to work on, she thought
"How will you punish me?" She asked in a slow voice.
"I will slam you against the wall and kiss you all day long" He said gripping her hips. His statement caused her to gasp out loud. He started placing kisses on her jaw and she hold back a moan.
"T-this is inappropriate, I have to work" Isabella whispered trying to escape. A knock on the door interrupted them and Isabella jumped a meter apart from Seth.
"Come in" Seth said as he cleared his throat. Ellie walked in holding a file. She saw Isabella all flushed and red and smirked towards her as Isabella glared at her.
"Sir, the file for today's meeting" Ellie said and handed him the file.
"Okay" Seth said and Ellie leaved the office.
"Uhm Miss. Smith, there is a meeting today with Mr. Lawrence and it is a very important meeting and you're coming with me. We'll go to your apartment and you can change there in this" Seth said as he passed her a box
"But I have clothes which will be appropriate for the meeting" Isabella said, even the box looked fancy and the clothes inside would surely be high priced which she couldn't even afford.
"You're going to wear this and it's final" Seth said, leaving no room for argument. They left the building and got into his Audi R8 black. Miguel was driving the car so they sat in the back seat. They reached her apartment soon. Isabella unlocked the door and walked inside, Seth following behind her.
"Make yourself at home, I'm going to get ready" Isabella said as they entered the living room. Seth nodded and she went upstairs in her room with the box in her hands. She locked the door and opened the box. The top of the dress was white and the bottom was peachy-pink colored with black blazer and black heels. Overall, it was gorgeous.
She stripped her work clothes and slipped into the dress. It reached above her knees and was a little short but she shook the thoughts and started doing her hair and makeup. She wiped off the makeup from her face which she applied in the morning and applied new eyeliner, mascara, and a light pink colored lipstick. She let her hair down in loose curls. She wore her white earrings, grabbed her phone, purse and coat and went downstairs in the living room.
She cleared her throat to get Seth's attention. He looked up and glanced at her up and down with his mouth slightly opened.
"Do I look okay?" Isabella asked nervously
"Uhm, yeah you look...beautiful" Seth said as he stood up and walked towards her.
"Thanks" Isabella said while blushing
"You look cute when you blush" Seth said as he stood close to her
"I-I don't blush" Isabella lied while looking him in the eye
"Oh really?" Seth asked as he slipped his hand around her waist.
"Yep" She said as she put her hands on his chest.
"Then you won't blush too if I did this" Seth said as he leaned in towards her lips but Isabella pulled back, blushing furiously.
"See, I just made you blush" Seth said
"Whatever" Isabella said as she walked towards the main door with him following behind. She locked the door and they got in the car. Half an hour later, they walked into a French restaurant who name was le petit chateau. It was a fancy restaurant even the inside looked very fancy and probably the food would be costly too. They walked towards a table where a man was sitting who looked like he was in his early 40s.
"Seth Anderson" The man greeted him as he shook his hand.
"Richard Lawrence" Seth said firmly as he shook his hand "She's my PA, Isabella Smith" Isabella shook his hand which he took out for her. They sat down on the chairs. It was the time for ordering and Isabella couldn't understand half of the things on the menu. Everything thing was high priced, a plate if salad costed 300$. Isabella almost choked and drank her water.
"Are you ready to order?" A waiter asked
"Yes, me and the lady will have Poulet Basquaise and red wine" Seth ordered for him and Isabella as well which she thanked him mentally.
"I'll have hachis parmentier with red wine as well" Richard ordered.
The food arrived and they started eating and the two men started talking about Richard's oil company for which the meeting was about. Seth was interested in partnership for Richard's oil company.
They finished the food and the meeting was concluded with Seth getting 40 percent share in Richard's company which he seemed happy about.
"I'm happy about this deal" Seth said as they walked out of the restaurant after bidding their goodbyes to Richard.
"Your face is showing how happy you are" Isabella said and Seth just smiled. They got in the car and Seth dropped Isabella to her apartment.
