I looked down at the screen of my phone while I waited for Tessa to continue our day of Netflix. It had been a week since the club promo and Justin's name plastered on the top of my screen, my fingers hovering over the send button.
Tessa's voice carried down the stairs as she spoke, "Send it if you're going to send it."
I shook my head as an answer and laid my phone on the coffee table, taking one of the blankets that Tessa carried. Tessa's irritation was radiating from her, knowing that I had intended to invite Justin over to watch tv as well.
Her eyes rolled back as I pressed start on the next episode of Jane The Virgin. I continued to ignore her as she typed something on her phone instead of watching the show. I silently rolled my eyes back and focused on the screen, but my thoughts were not on the show.
I quickly began to think about Justin who had been on my mind a lot in the past week. Although we hadn't actually seen each other since that night we had talked everyday. Apparently, Kylie expressed the same concern to Justin that Tessa had to me. Neither one of them wanted us to fall for each other.
My thoughts of Justin were broke by the sound of the doorbell ringing. I silently gave Tessa a look and she answered with a scoff, "Don't get pissed at me. I wanted Kylie to come over and I know she's with him."
I stood to answer the door and as I opened it the air chilled my thighs that were uncovered due to the shorts I was wearing. Kylie's smile widened as she seen me, pulling me into a tight hug, "Hey babe."
"Hey Ky." As she made her way past me I greeted Ryan and Za with a smile and finally met Justin's face. There was a stressed look on his face but seemed to lighten as he kissed my cheek, "Can I talk to you real quick?"
"Of course." I walked towards the kitchen that was disconnected from the living room. Justin's face did not change from the time it took for us to get out of earshot from everyone else. He leaned his back against the counter as I stood in front of him, ready for him to speak.
"My family is over at my house so I can't stay, but did you wanna come to my place with me?" His face slightly lifted as he spoke and I breathed out in relief.
"Yeah, sure. You okay?" I asked because this question did not seem like it was the source of his stress.
He nodded and smiled, "Yeah. I had a meeting with management about some shit, but it ain't nothing to bother you with."
I spoke as I lead him around to the stairs, "It wouldn't be bothering me."
As he was about to answer Kylie's voice followed us up the stairs, "You guys are annoying as fuck! Forever running off to be together!" We bother chuckled in response before going into my room. Compared to Kylie's house or even the house that the party was at this room was nothing, but compared to my room at home it was beautiful.
"Nadia, I just want you to know that I like you so if my mom says anything just ignore her."
My face warmed at his statement as I gathered clothes into my bag. He hadn't mentioned saying over but odds were I would at least be staying for a few hours.
"I'm sure you're mom will be great." While opening my underwear drawer I stole a quick glance of Justin's face. It still held the stressed look it did while we were downstairs and part of me wanted to make it disappear in any way I could.
Before picking out the underwear I needed I sat my bag on the floor and stood in front of him. Before my courage could falter I grabbed his chin between my fingers so I could lean down a plant a soft kiss on his lips. Pulling away I could feel him physically relax, "I don't know what has you so stressed but please calm down."
A smile broke across his face as I picked up my bag to load it with underwear. Behind me Justin spoke up, "Bring a bathing suit."
I did as told and picked out one that was both flattering and modest enough for his family, "I'm going to put this and a tshirt dress on and then we can go."
"I'm gonna go tell them were leaving." I nodded before quickly getting dressed and going downstairs. When I did come into the living room I was met by Tessa's look of anger and Kylie laughing.
"You're leaving?" Tessa eyed the bag in my hand and waited for a response. I quietly nodded before defending myself, "Justin's family is here and he wants me to come over."
The look I gave her as I spoke said that this wasn't something I could have said no to, "Okay fine, but you both owe us."
I smiled and followed Justin to his car which to my surprise was not his Ferrari. The way to his house was quiet as the radio played and Justin's right thumb ran lightly across my hand that he held in the center.
After about thirty minutes we pulled up to a enormous, Tuscan styled home. Looking around I thought back his room in his back up dancer's house and how big it was, this house was clearly much bigger. A look of awe sat on my face as I got out of Justin's car, handing him my bag to carry and locking hands with his.
"Close your mouth, it's just a house." There was a laugh behind his voice and I smiled while we made out way to the door. He stopped before opening the door, squeezing my hand in his, "So my mom, dad, brother, and sister should be here. I haven't told them you were coming, I actually haven't even told them anything about you."
My eyes widen and I suddenly felt nervous knowing I was going into this without them expecting it. I slowly nodded before asking a question that I had been thinking, "So you're introducing me to the family, what does that mean for us?"
He furrowed his eyebrows showing his confusion, "Um, friends." There was a stab of disappointment in my chest as he opened the door to his house and I was now even more nervous than I had been seconds ago.

I did a slight setting change from Beverly Hills to Calabasas. I apologize I just think Calabasas works a lot better for the story 😌
