"Madam, we just came home after travelling for a day and I need to freshen up. So, with your permission, can I take a leave?" Manik asked her. She was laying over him, playing with his shirt buttons, silently.
"Nandini, I need to change baby" he said again, and now she started to remove the buttons slowly.
"Oh so you are helping me change" he said. She was silently doing her work but there was a cute smile on her face.
"Is that smile an answer to all my questions? I love it though" he said and this made her smile more.
"Johnny Johnny" he said,
"Yes papa" she replied.
"Eating sugar?" he asked.
"No papa" she said.
"Telling lies?" he asked, "No papa" she replied.
"Open your moth" he said,
"ha ha ha" she laughed aloud.
"Yeh rhyme bol ne ke liye you open your mouth, but not to talk to me? Now Johnny is more important than Manik?" he asked.
"Manik you are crazy! You are comparing yourself with that character in a rhyme?" she said laughing.
"Acha now let me go, dinner bhi toh karnee hain na, it's 8 o' clock already and I am starving" he said.
"Okay! Tum fresh ho ke aao, like a good wife I will make dinner for you" she said getting up.
"Okay wifey" he said and went to his flat with his bags.
Nandini also changed and started cooking.
"It's been so long, I enjoyed some nice music while cooking" she thought and plugged in her ear phones and started cooking.
After good 30 minutes, Manik came back freshening up.
"Dinner ready?" he asked. She didn't reply.
"Oh madam, I am talking to you" he said again, she was swaying her head and not responding to him.
He walked a little closer and noticed that, she had her earphones plugged in and was busy stirring the vegetables. He slowly slid his hands around her waist which scared her to death.
"Huh" she said and turned around.
"Manikkk! What was that?" she shouted.
"Shh why are you shouting" he asked.
"Why am I shouting? You scared me. Aisa koi kartha hain kya?" she said.
"Hello! I called you twice and you didn't respond, that's why I had to do this" he said. "Acha kya bana rahi ho?" he asked.
"Tofu and vegetable curry with Rice. Rice is ready and this is almost done. Give me five minutes" she said and moved to the other side of the kitchen counter to check rice.
"Manik, can you get me that bowl" she said pointing a bowl on the top rack. He gave it to her,
"Acha dish out rice in that" she said without taking it.
"Okay Wifey" he said and started dishing out.
"Acha Nandini, how about both of us..." he stopped abruptly.
"Both of us?" she asked tasting the curry
"Mmm... yummy.. Taste karo" she said and fed him with a spoon.
"Delicious. As always" he said smiling.
"Acha you were telling something" she said.
"Kuch nai" he said. "Lo done" he said after emptying the rice into the bowl.
"And now this is also done" she said and they got ready to have a delicious dinner.
They sat down in the balcony with the food, Manik with a drink.
"Aaj drink?" she asked as he normally doesn't drink at home.
"Felt like having one? Would you mind?" he asked, before opening the bottle.
"No" she said smilingly and served food.
"This is so delicious. You are a great cook" he said having first spoon.
"Thankyou! I am glad you liked it" she replied. They finished dinner, talking about random things.
"You wait" he said and took her plate. He put the remaining food in the fridge and came back with a blanket and his guitar and iPad.
"Was your guitar here?" she asked.
"Nai, abhi mere ghar se le aaya" he said and was strumming some unknown tune, looking at his iPad, talking with her.
"Kya baath hain? Song without me asking you" she said.

Well, I don't know the reason for the question she asked. I felt like having a drink, to sing something good, non-manik style. I know she doesn't understand most of the words in Hindi songs, but she still pays so much attention to the lyrics and asks me the meaning of the words she doesn't understand. And as a matter of fact, she listens just my voice. She says she can see the meaning in my eyes when I sing for her. Is it true? Can she read my eyes so perfectly?
"Today I feel like singing" I said and turned to face her..she was so beautiful without any make up...her eyes speaking so many things with mine, her lips taking a curve into a pretty smile... Oh god! She makes me crazy.
I kissed her eyes gently and started singing... I totally am unaware of why I sang that song today... it's penned down so beautifully and I listened to it twice or thrice and I remember the lyrics so perfectly.

I never danced before, but with her, dancing was so much fun. The time we spent practicing for the Annual ball was the best time we spent during the beginning days of our friendship. Once the song was finished, it was all silent. We were just looking into each other's eyes, words were not needed. She held my face in her hands, pulled me closer and joined our lips, ever so gently. She took full charge today, making it more special. It was always our lips that did the talking, but today I think she was in a mood to try something new. She was trying to pull my lips apart, well I was in teasing mode. I didn't let her. She still tried and finally I had to give up.
And the next moment was breathe-taking, I could feel her lips, struggling to enter my mouth. She was trying to explore it. But poor girl, she was feeling shy. It was my first Kiss, the first French kiss as they call in novels and movies.
That moment, her tongue met mine, and she gasped. So did I. her grip on my face tightened, her fingers reaching my hair, and I slowly pulled her more towards me, putting my hands around her waist. Neither of us were intended to stop, it was blissful.
I was the first one to pull off. She was a deep red tomato by now. And if she would notice, I was blushing myself too. I hope she doesn't notice it though. But she was still looking straight into my eyes.
"I love you" she said in a low voice, lower than a whisper. I picked her up and we laid down on the bed. She was wearing a pink tanktop or whatever you call it and black pajamas. My hands involuntarily reached the strip of her top. And she..didn't stop me.
I was off guard that moment, and so was she. I slowly pulled the strip off her shoulders and kissed there deeply. I went down kissing her arms till her fingers. Changing our positons, I laid on top of her, putting my weight over my hands on either side of her.
I pulled down the other strip and as well and kissed all over from her ear to shoulder. She tightly held my shoulder, her nails gritting deep into my skin.
I realized what we were doing when I almost bit her skin over her shoulder and she hissed in pain.
Embarrassed! Both of us had the same shock expression our faces. I laid down next to her, trying not to look at her and same was the case with her.
"I am" I was about to speak when I felt her fingers over my lips. She nodded her head in a no.
"Don't say sorry! Please" she requested.
"You should've stopped me! Why didn't you?" I asked her. We have already had this discussion and I told her, when she noticed I am going off guard, to stop me the next instant.
"May be I didn't want you to stop what you were doing, I trust you Manik. I know you are well aware of everything" she whispered putting her head on my heart.
Did I really hear her saying that? This moment, I felt like we built that trust needed for a wife and husband, that made me feel so good.
"Calm down Mr. Heart" she said patting my heart. She must have heard the reaction there.
"That's not easy. Just hear him. He is high" I replied.
"I know how to calm you down" she said and placed a feather kiss over my heart. Oh my god!
"Nandini, you are doing no good" I told her as it was only increasing its pace.
"Then what do I do?" she asked cutely.
"Just don't move for a while" I said patting her hair.
"Okay sir" she said and completely came over me, adjusting herself perfectly. Her petite frame fit so easily on me.
"We are so made for each other" she said all of a sudden.
"I know that" I replied.
"I want to sleep" she said closing her eyes.
"Sleep, I am here" I said and kissed on her hair.
"Goodnight Manik" she said.
"Goodnight princess" I replied. Such a beautiful day.
I marked my calendar, with the words,
"Day of love"
