Joshs POV
"Where's Kenz" Paige asks as I walk through the door after school
"Grounded" I reply
"What for"
"I don't know Paige"
I grab an apple on my way upstairs and when I get upstairs I plop down on my bed and grab my phone as soon as I pick it up it goes off that's Kindve weird
I don't recognize the number but it has a Pittsburg area code so I answer
"Hey" I greet
"Josh" the person asks
"Yeah who's this"
"Brynn" they answer I pause for a moment before answering
"Yeah what do you want brynn"
"Oh I just wanna talk to you"
"Okay sure when"
"Is now okay?" She asks
"Yeah where"
"Um Starbucks?"
I roll my eyes "okay I'll be there "
I look at the apple in my hand and shrug I hop down the stairs and place the apple back in the fruit bowel and go put my nikes back on
Brynns really hot and me and Mackenzie aren't officially dating so I can do whatever I want
I climb into my car and drive across town to Starbucks I park my car as I see a short blond chick with a messy bun and sunglasses on walking in
I decide to wait a few minutes before getting up and walking in myself.as I walk into Starbucks I scan the coffee shop for brynn I see her putting a straw into her smoothie as she walks to a booth in the back
I follow with my hands stuffed in my pockets
I slide into the booth across from her
"Hey josh" she greets pulling her sunglasses off her eyes
"Hi brynn" I reply awkwardly
"So where's your little girly friend" brynn teases
"She's grounded" I reply
"Oh that must stink" brynn sympathetically replies in a sickly sweet voice
"It does" I reply crossing my arms
Brynn takes a sip out of her smoothie
"So why did you wanna meet up?" I ask her
"Are you officially dating mackenzie?" She asks
"No" i shrug
"Maybe you shouldn't"
"Um"
"Well tbh Mackenzie isn't really that hot" she explains
I shrug
"Well I am" she continues leaning in
I shrug again letting a smile spread across my face
After all mackenzie did tell me she hated my guts, time after time as if on cue brynn continues
"Plus Mackenzie told me she hated you" brynn states
Of course she did "you know what brynn I might take you up-" she cuts me off by grabbing my hand pulling a sharpie out of her pocket and writing down her number before kissing my hand.
"- take you up on that offer" she winks before standing up walking away and tossing her smoothie in the trash I watch as brynn walks out of Starbucks and to the same white car that hit Mackenzie.
