When bruce made it up to Dicks room he softly knocked on the door
"Dick, may i come in?" Bruce softly spoke not wanting to startle the boy, all he heard was a faint shuffle and a drop of something that sounded like metal and then a little voice of approval before he opened the door
It was dark, but not as dark as the Batcave at night, so he could make out the small figure that was sitting in the middle of the bed, Bruce cautiously walked over and sat on the edge of Dicks bed. Bruce and Dick were the only two that showed there weaknesses to each other, either they were upset, something was bothering them etc. Bruce may not seem like it as Batman but can be the nicest and caring person to Dick.
"Whats wrong?" Bruce softly spoke as the smaller boy slowly scooted over to him
"Nothings wrong" Dick even heard that it was obvious he was lying
"We both know that's a lie" Bruce smiled slightly as he gained a soft chuckle from his son
"..promise me you wont get mad at me?" Dicks voice sounded like the 13 year old boy he really was
"Promise" How serious Bruce's voice was sent chills down Dicks back, he's never heard him that serious before.
It was still dark in the room but he could see Dick trembling as he pulled up his sleeve. Which made Bruce's expression soften even more.
Dick slowly took Bruce's hand, his hands freezing Bruce thought. He took Bruce's hand and lid it over to his now exposed wrist. His right wrist, ridges, his wrist wasn't smooth there were parts that dipped down..there were scars. His hands warm Dick thought. He let Bruce feel up and down his arm, there were so many scars. He heard a faint hic which meant Dick was crying, he went to wipe away the tears with his other hand but was stopped by Dicks hand taking his and Dick softly spoke with his voice cracking slightly
"And the worst part is-"
He pulled up his other sleeve and led Bruce's hand to his now left wrist. Bruce froze when he felt the a stream of warm liquid coming from his sons wrist.
"-I haven't stopped"
