" Randhir " Sanyukta looked up at Randhir "I wanna ask you something."
He smiled indicating her to go ahead.
"Would we be... I mean would our friendship be affected by the answer I give ?" She asked hesitantly
"No" he said immediately
"You need no lie Randhir" she said softly
He caressed her cheeks and said "No it won't. Nothing can affect our friendship. We will be friends, come what may"
Tears formed in her eyes and she hugged him.
"I wanna tell you that....that I can't do it" she broke the hug and stroking the strands of her hair.
"I mean... The things.. All of that that has happened with me...after that , I don't think I could go on with such relationships.." She looked into him "atleast now"
He held her hand and pressed it lightly "No problem. I understand"
She looked at him and gave a weak smile
"What yaar ? See , in your words... All ice cream melted on me." He said joking. She gave a laugh
Only then, Sanyukta's phone rang
"Sanyu, where are you ? Where is milk ? " her mother asked
"Maa...coming. Two minutes" she said
"Oh god. In this tension, I had forgotten about mom" she said and sat on his bike "Come on. Drive home now"
They drove to her home in silence
Sanyukta went home and said "Look whom I have got"
Her father looked above his newspaper and her mother asked "Whom?"
She smiled and said "Presenting... My best friend in FITE"
Randhir came in with a nervous smile. She pulled him into the house and made him sit
"Hello beta " anju greeted him
"What's your name ?" kishore asked him suspiciously
"Randhir . I'm Randhir" Randhir flashed his best smile.
"Papa.. He's.. You know what guess who?" Sanyukta said
"Sanyu , what's this drama... Answer your dad " her mother said
"Maa...he's randhir. Randhir singh shekhawat. My Randhir... Our Randhir"
Kishore flashed eyes of disbelief. Her mother was very happy . she caressed his hairs.
He got up and touched feet of anju and then kishore.
"Be happy" Anju blessed and hugged him.
Few hours passed and Randhir got to deep discussion with her family. They talk about all sorts. He mingled with her family as though he had been living there forever. Sanyukta couldn't help but saw the sight in awe.
Sanyukta excused herself to get some snacks and that was when Anju looked around and asked Randhir
"You love Sanyu. Don't you ?"
