Annabeth

“So what do you want to do today?” Percy asked me as we walked along the beach. “Hmmm…” I said. He looked at me as I thought about our plans for the day at the beach. “Well, we should go swimming, then dry off and relax for a bit, then after we can go grab lunch.” Percy smiled, “Sounds awesome.” He took me by the hand and we headed toward the water. I placed my beach bag down, my top and jean shorts placed neatly inside along with a towel, sunscreen, a magazine, water and a novel.  When we walked into the cool, shallow water, I shrieked as Percy picked me up and threw me across his shoulders, running deeper into the ocean. “Percy, don’t do what I think you’re going to do!” He laughed, plopping me into the water with a loud splash. I quickly came back up for air, giving Percy a hateful look as he just continued to chuckle. Out of spite, I splashed a bunch of water into his face, and he barely flinched! I growled, going to the beach with the son of Poseidon isn’t good when you’re both trying to annoy each other.

A few minutes past and we continued to swim, trying to jump above the waves as we laughed like little kids. A few hours later we were exhausted and soaked. I dried myself off, grabbed my clothes as me and Percy made our way to a restaurant nearby for lunch. Across from the beach was a whole strip filled with shops, restaurants and who knows what else. We decided to try out one of the restaurants just on the corner of the street. As we sat down outside, I looked around at the stunning view. It really was a great day in San Francisco. My thoughts were interrupted as our waiter arrived, “Hi, I’m Julia, I’ll be your waitress today. Is there anything I can start you two off with?”

A few minutes later we were gobbling down our lunch. Percy had ordered a sandwich while I ordered pasta with shrimp. It was actually very good, and I had a feeling that this street must be very popular here in San Fran. After lunch we walked along the strip, exploring the shops and taking in the sites. “Hey,” Percy said, stopping in front of one store. “Look at this necklace.” He held up a dainty silver necklace with detailing of an ocean wave, along with what I thought was a trident. “Well isn’t this ironic? Here, try it on for me.” Percy slipped the necklace around my neck and I took a quick look in the mirror nearby. I gasped. It was very beautiful, not to mention the fact it had a little bit of importance to it. It’s a souvenir from San Francisco and it also represents Percy in so many ways, probably why he pointed it out. “My mother would kill me if she knew what this represents to me, but I really like it.” I said. Percy smiled, “Did you want to get it? I mean, not obviously just to annoy your mother but…” I chuckled, “Sure, why not. Let’s buy it.”

Author’s Note

Hope you enjoyed! Greatest apologies for my inactivity but I’ve just been trying to find the right way to write this chapter! Sorry it’s a little short but more interesting chapters on their way! Thanks again for reading!
