After the gang got back home from their fight at Octo Valley they felt pretty tired from Splatfest and went to bed
"Ugh man I feel awful...wish I got more sleep last night." Jared said while waking up "guess I should go see the splatfest results now."
He then ate breakfast, took an ink shower and went to the plaza
"Hey Carter, Hey Amethyst. I still feel really appreciated that you guys saved my life."
"Aw it was no biggy, now we know who to not trust around here."
"I'm sure those 4 will think twice not to mess with us...SHHH SHHH THE RESULTS ARE COMING UP!"
Callie and Marie's show starts and everyone waits eagerly for the results
"Heey it's Callie!"
"And it's Marie."
"And we're about to post the splatfest results for today! WOOOO ARE YOU EXCITED!?"
"Nah because I know Milkshakes won."
"Ooo well aren't we cocky today, Marie. Anyways the team that was more popular was.... Smoothies! They went 51% to 49%
"ugh great.."
"And the team with the most wins are....Milkshakes!? With 39% to 61!?!? Aw come on my smoothies."
"Hehe I'm feeling good about this."
"And the winners are.....................Milkshakes! With 207% to 293%....well done....you fat filled cups."
"All the flavors in your smoothie and you choose Salty?"
"Lol I guess I shouldn't be too upset I mean that was fun. Singing around, dancing, sharing snacks and kisses on the bench with your dream guy....WHY CANT WE HAVE THIS EVERYDAY!"
"Uhh while Callie is having a fantasy I'll just say the stages. For regular battle it's Camp Triggerfish and Kelp Dome. And for Ranked it's Rainmaker. Urchin Underpass and Arowana Mall. For everyone who entered the splatfest collect your prize over at the stand. And remember, STAY FRESH!...pst Callie, your supposed to do it with me."
"OH right my bad...ahem."
"STAY FRESH!!" They both say simultaneously while the Monitor shuts off
"WOW I can't believe I won a splatfest!!" Jared screams
"Ugh I can't believe smoothies lost... I want a rematch, I left in the middle of it."
"At least we all still get the Super Sea Snails though."
"....uh what are super sea snails??" Jared asked
"They are very important small creatures that give us an extra ability slot on our clothes. For instance right now you have 2 slots on all your clothes but if you used a snail on em, you'd have 3."
"Wow so I can be even more powerful?? WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME THIS SOONER!!!!?!??" Jared runs to the benches fast and got extra slots on his gear.
"Wow that was fast."
"Yup now I'm even stronger than before. Ha ha!"
"Not exactly, smart guy." You gotta win enough battles & then you'll get your slot, for now it's just a question mark." Amethyst pointed out
"UGH AW MAN!!!! Fine then wait here guys I'll win enough turf wars before you know it." Jared ran into the lobby really fast
"Uhh why is he in such a hurry today??"
"Who knows. For now let's go see if cuttlefish has a mission for us."
"Roger Roger!"
"I'm not Roger, I'm Amethyst." She said in a smart mouth tone.
"I was joking..."
"So was I. C'mon silly."
Meanwhile back with Jared. Who's still in the lobby waiting for a team until Gabriel's team enters to battle Jared
"Ugh ok Charles tell me why you keep running off? disobedience is not tolerated on my team." Gabriel said
"Disobedience? I'm not a dog..."
"HAHAHAHA." Dylan bursted out laughing "...that was funny stop staring at me!"
"You still can't go off all the time without me saying so. Im supposed to teach the team valuable tactics. Meaning everyone needs to be there!"
"We get it four eyes. Your a nag blah blah." Dylan teased
"I am not a 'nag'"
"This is exactly how you sound; 'ohh why can't my team ever follow a simple order, I Use big words to feel so superior over all" Dylan mocked Gabriel
"Heh heh do another one..." Mike asked
"Michael!?!?"
"Look at me I carry a goofy blaster around because it's too high technical for you guys to understand" She continued to mock him as he gets increasingly upset
"HAHAHAHAHAHA" Mike and Chuck laughed
"GRRRR listen here Dylan so help me I'll-"
"Hey guys, haven't seen you all in a while."
"Hey Jared" Mike said
"Wut up man, I see you've been training."
"Yeah now I'm level 10. Ready to try on ranked battles and this time I'll be able to face you."
"We'll see about that."
"Well if it isn't Jared. How goes the person I so hate."
"HEY at least I don't have....uh....at least I'm not using a garbage ranged weapon."
"I'll have you know i eliminated countless individuals with the Luna Blaster."
"We'll just see on the battlefield."
"Grr I was gonna say that!"
The battle starts on Kelp Dome in 3...2....1....GO!! Jared begins rushing to the right side of his area
"Alright now where's Gabriel. I'm gonna enjoy splatting him...huh?"
Jared sees a weird cube shaped thing on the floor
"What is this? I never saw it here before...is it some kind of update add-on." When Jared touched it, It begins to glow in a mysterious cyan hue
"Woah it looks so....strange..." Jared thought to himself "wellll whatever this weird box is i gotta put it down for now."
"WAIT!" The device just spoke in a male tone that didnt sound at all inkling-like
"Huh?? Did you just speak!?"
"Yes but i....cant hold this signal for long..........who are you?....."
"Im Jared, who are you?"
"My name is.........." Static can only be heard then nothing else
"Wait, your name is what? What???"
"Behind you!" The Voice yelled while activating Echolocation somehow. Jared splatted Michael behind him
"thanks! You saved me there....how can you echolocate people?? Are you an inkling...what are you exactly?"
"Im............Ma......"
"Mark?" Jared answered for him but the voice disagreed suddenly the cube turned towards the enemy base and used a Killer Wail.
"How in the...wow!! Just wow!! Can you do other stuff?"
"Better stop talking to yourself, Jared, you never know who could sneak up on you!" Gabriel lunged at Jared but the device used Seeker rush and splatted him.
"Aw man I could've took him. From now on don't help me unless I say so ok?" The voice became silent now so the signal mustve been lost.
"Hmm i wonder if he'll come back."
"Wonder if WHO WILL COME BACK!" Dylan jumped out of nowhere and started firing her Mini Splatling all over jared, he successfully dodged all her shots and hid behind a wall
"Ugh great, the one time you dont help me man. How am i gonna get past her..."
Jared thinks to himself for awhile until Michael shows up and tries to get him
"Ugh not good." Jared then throws a few burst bombs and super jumps back to his base.
"MICHAEL YOU ARE SO USELESS I SWEAR TO GOD!!" Dylan yelled harshly at him, hurting his feelings in the process. "Ugh dont you dare cry, lets just hurry up and win before-"
The match is over and Jared's team wins much to Gabriel's disappointment
"-They win...GRRRRR AGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
"Quit your barbaric screaming. That wont solve anything. What does matter is Michael's skills need to improve."
After the match, Jared's team won but he goes home and shows the guys the dog he found.
"And then it just created a bunch of special weapons out of nowhere. He saved my life multiple times and idk who he is."
"Jared that thing is cool and all but maybe you should uhh how do I say this..."
"Get rid of it!" Amethyst yelled
"What?? Why??"
"We don't know at all where that thing came from and somehow you found it...it may be an Octarian trap"
"Yeah but it's blue and all futuristic looking. Last time I check, Octarians aren't blue or techno."
"Well whatever this thing is I still say you should get rid of it."
"Hang on a sec amethyst, what if this thing isnt octarian? It could be something else."
"Who else could that possibly be?"
"Aliens hahaha." Xavier teased them but they all werent amused.
"Like i said, get rid of it!"
"Ugh fine Amethyst whatever!"
"Good, I'm glad you made the right decision Jared. But I gotta go, my mom wants me to meet her at the store so see ya."
Amethyst leaves jared's house while the others continue talking
"Your gonna keep it aren't you?"
"Heck yes!"
"I had a feeling you'd say that....hm im still wondering what that is."
"It muttered something before disconnecting...M and A. MA."
"Ma? Thats it?"
"He didn't finish the rest...i thought it was Mark."
"Idiot. He obviously was trying to say something else." Xavier rudely interrupted
"No duh captain obvious!"
"Uhh I'm gonna go now Jared. You keep that thing out of site otherwise someone could report it."
Carter then walks outside to see Gabriel's team again while Xavier follows him, sticking his tongue out at Jared.
Carter then meets up with Gabe's team
"Hey...uhh why does Gabe look so pissed?"
"Oh it was because Jared beat him in a turf war."
"Hmm it mightve been because of that cube thing he found."
"Wait what cube thing?"
"It was a futuristic block that can use every special for him."
"So thats how he defeated me, he cheated. Mind if i examine the cube up close? i need to see its inner-mechanism structure."
"Uhh sure, his house is this way."
"Oh uhh hey Carter um I was just going to say-" Carter and Gabe leave before he could say what he wanted to "Oh....never mind...."
"Chuck are you ok? You look sad..." Michael noticed
"I'm fine.....I just need to go." Chuck heads down hammerhead bridge alone but Michael ends up following him. Meanwhile back at Jared's house.
"Jared!"
"AMETHYST IM SORRY I SAID ILL GET RID OF HIM! PLEASE DONT SLAP ME!....oh it's you Carter. What now?"
"I just brought Gabriel over to take a look at your new gadget."
"Ew no way im not letting that freak near it."
"The feeling is mutual."
"Look Jared we dont know what that thing is or where it came from. We need someone really smart to look at it ok? In the meantime why dont we just go do a twin squad ok?"
"Umm well uhh.."
"I promise i wont engage in anything too dangerous while dismantling this fine piece of machinery. Ill need a screw driver, hammers, and-" gabriel continues to talk about the machine but Jared and Carter secretly leave before hearing his nerd talk. While waking, Jared begins to wonder who the voice on the cube was.
