....

Another two months has passed ever since the incident has happened. Everyone in the pack is slowly recovering whether it is the physical wounds or the emotional wounds - "Yo!" Zain calls as he snatches a toast from the kitchen counter, "This is your fifth piece" I stated as I took my second piece whilst watching a film on my laptop. Leaning over my shoulder Zain chews loudly into my ear checking out what I am watching, and just being the pervert he is he whistles near my ear when one of the hookers in the plot starts stripping.

"She's hot"

"She is isn't she" I played along causing him to steer away from me as he looks at me up and down "You swing that way?!" Smirking I continued to play along "Mhmm, what? There's nothing wrong with being a lesbian!?" Watching his eyes grow slightly wide I mentally laugh in pleasure. "So my friend here is a lesbian. Now that's something now" Jayden's voice chirps as he enters the kitchen as he tries to lean his arm on my shoulder I pretend to drop something causing him to roll his eyes after failing to lean on me. "Raine! Why are you always so mean to me?" Jayden complains like a child who just got rejected causing me to smirk and pull an innocent face.

"Sorry what was you saying? I got distracted"

Rolling his eyes Jayden knew I am doing it on purpose punching me lightly across the shoulder. "Say, why are they calling us so early today?" Taking a sip of my hot water Jayden makes his way over to the kitchen sink dumping his plate in the sink "Hey throw mine in as well" Zain calls and casually throws a plate in the air which Jayden gracefully caught with one hand. Over these two months, my dad and the alpha has been out a lot lately day by day they seem to be more busier and demanded even more. My mum complain to me like she already does about how she misses my dad and how she misses his voice - I also miss him too, I don't like seeing my mum like this she had gotten better without my dad for a few days during the week over that last few years but over these two months the most she get to see is my dad arriving back or leaving the pack house with the alpha.

"Apprently the prime minster is coming to visit, to report the progress of prince Nathan's training. It's going to be a long day" Dragging the 'o' sound when Jayden mentioned the word 'long' I could only yawn this is probably why my dad and the alpha is so busy. They've probably been trying to polish up the pack even more and make sure everything run's smoothly. "Forget that!" Zain laughs before grinning "Who's in for a game of cards?" Offering a few put their hands up after hearing Zain's and just as I was about to join I see Nathan and Noah hang out together at the backyard from the window. Nathan looked troubled whilst Noah had the same unfazed expression on his face "Hey Zain deal my cards for me and I'll join you guys in a sec" I tapped his shoulder and began to make my way to them yet before I could even get to them Jayden pulls me into the room where we do the laundry.

Looking at me with firm eyes he looks behind to make sure no one was behind him "Uh? Jayden? You look really suspicious" I joked with a dry tone making Jayden look at me with all seriousness "I've been noticing something for the past few months" It's either I'm stupid or he's talking in another language because I have no idea where or what is he trying to say at this moment. "Noticing what? A lot has happened?" - "No I've noticed you've been quite close to Nathan and Noah, I swear you don't even curse Nathan as much now" Wow. He even noticed that, shouldn't he be happy I'm not digging a bigger grave for myself? I mean they always say karma is a bitch. "Yeah… he's not that bad. I guess when you get to know them - wait why are you even asking me? Shouldn't you be relieved that your best friend isn't going to be against the 'prince' anymore?"

Pointing my index finger and dug it into his shoulder blades he pushes it away with a chuckle. "Of course I'm happy! I'm just saying it's weird how you're friends with him when you're enemies a second ago. Not to mention Noah, I thought he was anti-social?"

Raising an eyebrow I could only offer Jayden a half interested look,

"If you get to know them they're pretty cool. You're just jealous aren't you?"

I smirked with a devilish intention slipping away from my eyes "Are you scared they might over take your position. Poor puppy" With a teasing tone I can tell Jayden is already annoyed - checkmate.

Slipping my arm around his I twirl him around and led him out the laundry room "Don't worry Jayden, you'll always be my best friend" Showing him my million dollar grin I know it will make him laugh and as we made our way out I took a glance back out the window that showed the backyard only to find Nathan and Noah no longer there. A pang of disappointment entered me - great. "Raine! Hurry up! The whole world is waiting for you!" Zaine yells from the other room causing me and Jayden to hurry to the room seeing a lot of guys and a few girls surrounding a table. "Yo! Your cards are here!" Zain yells pointing at our space "Hey! If I win again you owe me another favour!" I grinned causing a few guys to groan - the horror of last time when I made them tidy my room.

An hour or two later - I groan in frustration as I slap the cards down on the table hard "URGH! I knew I shouldn't have used that!" I groaned as I glare at Claire who chuckles at me since she won the game after a tense stand off between me and her. "Looks like you lost this time Raine" She teases causing me to roll my eyes before giving the white flag "I lost. Only for now" I smirked making Jayden shove me gently to the side, then just as Claire is deciding what she wants as a prize Cynthia runs towards us, remember her? She's the popular girl in the pack but can't really be classed as a slut. "The minister is here!" Out of breath she pants whilst everyone shoots up from their seats rushing out to great the minister.

Of course, just like last time the place is crowded "Raine!" my mum grabs me from out of nowhere "Woah, mum where are you taking me?" I struggled whilst she pulled me through the crowd "We have to greet the minister" Rolling my eyes from her answer I could only think how much trouble and formality will have to be used. Already at the main hall the minister and the alpha's family along with Nathan and Noah as well as my dad who is looking out for me and my mum presumably.

"So who is the brave young lady who made history for hitting our little Nathan's sore ego?" That unfamiliar voice must belong to the minister, with greyish hair and brown eyes he scans the room "I'm afraid that young lady or shall I say my daughter is right there. Sir" my dad introduced me whilst I had to put on a awkward smile. "This is our daughter Raine Avery" Patting my shoulder I gave my mum a stiff smile widening my eyes a little which meant 'what the hell?!' - "Oh she is a dashing young lady" The minister chuckles and cracks but something in his laugh masse me feel somehow uncomfortable "Is his majesty and her highness doing well?" The alpha asks leading the minister's gaze tear away from me and advert to our alpha "His majesty has been quite poorly for some time now, her majesty is looking after him but I'm sure his majesty will be up and running soon" Hearing such news I couldn't help but check Noah and Nathan's faces - nothing was there. Perhaps they already knew their dad is ill? Who am I to even put my nose in their family business.

A little after the short introduction, a mini banquet is held of course served with the best in the pack house we couldn't fail the minister in terms of the first impression. Unfortunately being the beta's daughter I HAD to sit near the minister instead of sitting next to Jayden and everyone else that should be at my age talking about … uhhh… stuff. Then again I'm not complaining, the food is great.

"So Alpha North, is Nathan doing well?" - "Hey, old geezer we're eating here" Nathan points his fork at him with a carrot at the end of it "I was just simply caring about the kingdom's future" The minister smirks before taking a sip of his red wine, as he takes a sip of his red wine his eye brows raised slightly in pleased manner "This red wine surely is top quality" Something in his voice tells me he was expecting the red wine to be amazing - in side my head I roll my eyes knowing that the red wine he is currently drinking is something the alpha had been treasuring for a long time and used a lot of money to buy. Maybe I just don't understand men when it comes to their interest in wine in my opinion I just think they just taste bitter.

After the dinner everyone was excused, however before I even made it out the room Noah's voice calls me "Raine" Turning around I see Noah walking towards me in a hurry "What's up?" I stopped and turned as he approaches me and drags me out the room forcefully - this is not like him at all. "Noah? What are you doing?" Something is up - "Noah." The minister's voice sternly calls over causing Noah to stop - in fact Noah tenses. "So are you going to get rid of her or not?" Whilst he said that question he eyes me up and down with something behind his eyes that I can't quite read.

"You can see it in her eyes, Noah"

Despite him talking to Noah, Noah doesn't seem to be responding to him at all his eyes are only staring at the minister - could it be. "Are you talking about me?" Stupid question - of course they are. "What are you smoking? Are you drunk?" I asked in disgust - how dare he act as if I'm a criminal? I haven't done anything!

"The minister is also the elder wolf. With the ability to foresee someone's future briefly upon meeting them for the first time" Noah's voice carried insecurity which also made me insecure as well - "What did he see?" I gulped slightly not sure should I believe this or not. "He saw you - endangering the entire kingdom"

Letting those words sink in I could only feel my breathing becoming shorter, as if I'm taking a huge breath in. Like a bomb ready to explode my face twists in disgust even further before I yelled.

"The hell?!"
