Night around 8 PM:
After studying for few hours both were tired. That's natural. Boks are the biggest sedatives ever... class books in special...
Manik went down to Nandini's apartment and knocked the door. She did not open it. He thought she might be sleeping and knocked again. After 4-5 times she opened it.
"Kaha thi madam" he asked crossing her. When she saw him walking ahead of her, she hugged him form back and rested her head on his back. He smiled at her cuteness and bent a little, that way he was carrying her. She closed her eyes and was almost sleeping.
"Nandini sona math" he said. But she was silent. He went into the kitchen in the same position, making sure she was secure. Silently he took out some pasta and started cooking.
"Nandinii don't sleep baby. Ye sahi time nai hain.. dinner karke so jaao" he said in a low voice.
"Shhh manik" she said.
He smiled more.
"Okay fine then, bed pe sulaa dhetha hoon and I will wake you up when food is ready" he said and was walking out of the kitchen.
"Nai mujhe aise ghode pe hii sonaa hain" she said stopping him.
"Nandini holi pe ek baar tumhaara ghoda ban chukka hoon aur nai banna mujhe.. isliye chupchap bed pe so jaao" he said and placed her on the bed. She immediately snuggled into her quilt and drifted to sleep.
He walked back into the kitchen and finished his cooking and came out to wake her up. That's when his eyes fell on a scrap book which was on her study table. He took it and started flipping the pages to see pictures of her childhood.
The first page had the picture of a beautiful lady, clad in a South Indian saree.
The next page had an equally charming man.
"Why does she have this old scrapbook here now?" he thought flipping the pages ahead.
That was followed by a picture of a cute girl with the lady in the first pic.
"Oh god! Is this my Nandini? No wonder she still looks the same...Cute and chubby" he smiled looking at the picture and the taglines that were under each picture.
The next picture was a group of small cute kids in a stage performance, (Jise chaahe use apna potato samajhlo... I toh loved them all)
followed by her High School graduation.
Now, came the picture, which made him smile ear to ear. Yes! It was his... he was so happy to find himself part of her cute little world.
He put the book back and tried to wake her up.
"Nandu food is ready. Get up now" he said and surprisingly, she got up immediately.
"Wow! That's new" he said adjusting next to her.
"I am hungry" she said sitting next to him, with his shoulder's support.
"At your service madam" he said and gave her the plate.
"Wow Pasta! I love you for this Manik" she said and started eating.
"Tumhaara kaha hain?" she asked as he was not having anything.
"Ithnaa hi banaa tha. I thought we'll share but its okay I am not very hungry" he said.
She separated the pasta in the plate into two halves, "Ye side mera aur ye side tumhaara and no cheating okay" she said.
"paagal" he mumbled and tried to grab her fork.
"Uhun! Go get another fork" she said and continued eating.
Though clear boundaries were drawn in the plate, they still fought for it but he gave up after seeing her cute faces.
"I have to be very careful with you, patha nai kya convince karwaa logi ek din apne yeh cute faces banaake" he said pulling her cheek.
"Ouch my cheek.. aur haan my face is that way. I need to not make any" she said.
"Ya I can see that" he said and showed her the scrapbook.
"Did you see it" she asked facepalming.
"Yes I did" he said with a smirk.
"What happened to that Chubby Nandini now?" he asked showing her the picture with her mom.
"The two three years when I was depressed I shed pounds and couldn't regain that" she said sadly.
"It's okay! ab mein yahaa hoon na toh see, you'll again become the same cute chubby potato you were" he said hugging her.
"Manik you will never leave me right?" she asked.
Her sudden question confused him.
"Nandini do I need to answer that question?" he asked as it was understood.
"I know you won't...but I had a bad dream" she said and was almost on the verge of crying.
"What dream baby?" he asked looking at her.
"That you left me" she said looking down wiping those tiny little tears that were flowing down.
"That will never happen baby. You need to trust me and I promise I am ready to do anything to get that trust.. just tell" he said
"Ek baath boloon toh you shouldn't be judgemental... promise?" she asked cutely.
"Promise" he said.
"Now you have your sister back. Aaj nahi toh kal she'll come to know that you are her real brother and what if she wants to go back to India? What if people want Fab5 back after getting to know that Mukti is alive?" she asked.
Cabir's word struck Manik's mind. He already warned Manik about this situation. He didn't give much thought to it when Cabir said. He thought any such situation would never arise.
"Nandini please don't think that way. I know Mukti is back and I am happy for that. But beta there's no comparison between you both. I am not going to leave one for the other. Agar Nia ki baath karein, toh she's extremely happy with our relationship and she loves you so much. Even though she comes to know that I am her brother, trust me she will never have any problem with us" he said trying to convince her.
"Pakka?" she asked doubtfully.
"Pakka! Your Transformer will never leave you" he said and kissed her forehead. She didn't understand why he said transformer.
"Transformer?" she asked confusingly.
"Haan transformer. Tum ne hi toh bola tha Na... that I transform to whatever form you want... like papa, amma, friend, lover. Isliye Transformer" he said and she smiled at his funny explanation.
"Aise smile karthee rehna...it makes my life easy" he said stretching her lips into a cute smile.
"Jaise cell tower hotha hain na Manik.. Lambaaa, tum 6 foot ke Love tower ho" she said and laughed.
"Aur tum is love tower ki Network" he played along.
"Oh god! Kya kya names dhethe hain hum ek dhoosre ko" she said and got down the bed.
"Ab tum sone waali ho kya? You took a nice evening nap" he asked.
"Haan! Tired hoon, I think I'll continue my sleep... I need it badly" she said throwing herself again on the bed.
"Okay then. I'll leave. See you tomorrow" he said and gave a quick goodnight kiss.
"Acha come near" she said and he came.
He leaned forward and kissed his cheek.
"Goodnight Love" she said and quickly snuggled under her duvet.
"Goodnight" he said and went back awith a never ending smile.
