Okay so surprisingly this is my most well liked story. Like almost 10 likes on one chapter! Thank you so much! So I've decided to update this story more often. For instance, I just wrote a quick chappie at 10:30 at night. Probably not my best work and not the longest either but it'll have to do. Thanks for all your support! Love you guys!

"I can't believe my eyes. Is it possible she gets uglier every second? I just saw her at lunch an hour ago," says the co-captain of the cheerleading squad, Victoria. Gosh, I hate her.

"My eyes! They hurt! It burns! Too ugly!" teases Hunter, an idiotic jock.

"If you looked up the word ugly in a picture dictionary, this girl's picture would be right next to it," said Lindsay, cackling evily. All of the cheerleaders (except for Lily of course) are mean snobs. That would probably be an insult if it wasn't so unorginial. "Never heard that one before" would be a huge lie, since that's about as standard as you can get.

"Excuse me?" said Alexx, appearing by my side in an instant. When people insulted me, things always ended badly.

"You heard me," Lindsay said, walking up to Alexx, crossing her arms. She's dead, she's literally dead if she thinks she can mess with Alexx.

"Alexx stop, I can handle this, I'm fine," I said, but she just ignored me, focusing on defending me when I didn't need her help.

"Do you remember Robert Mohler?" Alexx asked  Lindsay out of the blue, but I saw where this was going and it was not going to be pretty.

"Yeah, the one without the teeth?" Lindsay said, gulping. Though she tried to hide it, her voice shook with nervousness.

"Well, bitch, that's going to be you pretty soon," Alexx said as she slams her fist into Lindsay's face. She continues to pound in Lindsay's skull as Lindsay shreiks and screams loud enough to wake the dead. A small crowd gathers around to watch the beating, but instead of interfering, they just watch.

"Alexx that's enough! I think she's learned her lesson Alexx!" I may have a little bit of satisfaction watching Alexx beat up Lindsay, but I don't want my best friend going to juvie(again).

Of course my friend ignored me and continued pounding Lindsay's "perfect" face in. I actually saw a teacher in the crowd, but instead of pulling Alexx off of Lindsay, he just stood there and oohed and aahed with the rest of the bystanders. Realizing this is all up to me to stop this, since I sort of caused the commotion in the first place anyways, I count to 3 in my head.

"STOP!"

Alexx stops inflicting pain on Lindsay long enough to see me walk out the gym doors and into the parking lot. I can't believe her! It's so embarassing to have her guarding me like I need to be protected because I can take care of myself. I could stand up to those idiots if I wanted to, but I preferred to not stoop to their level and take the high road in life. Did every other student forget what the guidance counselors used to repeat to us over and over again? Ignore and walk away. Ignore and walk away. That's exactly what I was doing right now.

I hear Alexx's boots clicking behind me in a small run because she followed me out here, just as I suspected.

"Alexx, you can't just live your whole life beating people up when they piss you off! You have to stop," I scolded Alexx. I did not want her growing up and working at some dead end job at a fast food resturaunt and then living on a sofa in my basement or something horrifying like that. She skipped class, she beat at least three people up a day, she never studied or did any homework, and she had the biggest attitude of anyone I knew. She and the principal were on a first name basis the first day of Freshman year, after she had gotten sent to the office four times in that one day. I know for a fact Alexx could care less about school since she is barely passing with a C- average. I am the complete opposite. Sometimes I wonder how we are friends, but then I stop thinking about it because I know I'll never find out. It's really hard to watch someone you're really close to throw their life away as if they are not worth anything because Alexx has the potiental to do great things in life. I just wish she would see things the way I do and then maybe today's incidents would not have occured.

"Beating up people seems to be working pretty well for me. At least I don't just stand there and do nothing," Alexx shouted at me, and I can't help but flinch at her words. That one stung, so she's suceeded in getting to me, which was obviously her attention.

"Standing there and doing nothing works pretty well! You need to mind your own business because I can do what I want with my life, I don't need you shielding me from everyone! I AM FINE ON MY OWN!" I shouted back, defending myself.

"Addie, you know I love you, right? But your methods suck! You're a complete pushover! You've been made fun of this whole year and the past two, and it's like you don't even care. You think of yourself as a loser because that's what they are all telling you. You need to realize that you are awesome and beautiful and just an all-around stud!" Alexx said, giving me a mini pep talk.

"I'm not witty like that. I'm not like you. People don't like me like they like Lily, they don't respect me like they do Cassie, and they aren't about to shit their pants when they talk to me like when they talk to you!"  I wish I had the perfect badass attitude like Alexx, or the most graceful, beautiful, and elegant look like Cassie, or the most cheery personality that allows no one to dislike you, like Lily, but no, of course I had the shy, timid personality that everyone sees as a chance to use me as their personal punching bag.

"That's why God gave us fists! To fight!" Alexx continued with her stupid pep talk or whatever it was she was trying to do. She's not even religious, so I don't know what she's talking about.

"I think you have that wrong, Alexx, a little backwards."

"Do I have that wrong? Do I really? You don't see anyone insulting me." True, very true. I wanted to be one of them, not have them all afraid of me and still be an outsider, but in a different way.

"They don't insult you because they're all afraid of you!" Also true, as stated earlier.

"So? I don't mind. When are you going to wake up and stop being such a little whimp and tackle these idiots head on? Grow a pair already! How can you just stand there all day and tolerate every single insult that comes your way. I can't even do that and the insults aren't even aimed at me"You try to block it all out, which is obviously not going to work forever, so you might as well learn how to make good insults and comebacks. You need to fight for yourself!"

"No, just NO, okay?" I argued with her, tears streaming out of my eyes and down my face in frustration. There's no way I can do that. I am definetely not a fighter, I'm not strong enough for that.

"Fine, then. I can't protect you forever. There's only one solution to your problem and it's going to happen whether you like it or not," Alexx stated, and I know by now that there is no chance I will change her stubborn mind.

I groan and say, "What?"

"The ugly duckling is about to become the beautiful swan, my dear. A makeover done by yours truly! Cassie and Lily would love to help, too. They've been dying to give you one for ages, but just never acted on it," Alexx told me.

"A makeover?" I asked. Did I hear her right? That would never work! That's what happens in movies. I would still be ugly no matter how much dye I put in my hair or make-up I caked on my face.

"Yeah, that's what I said. M-A-K-E-O-V-E-R." she repeated herself, annoyed. Alexx can't stand repeating herself because she expects people to give them all of their attention the first time she speaks.

"Why bother? I like how I look..." Baggy sweatpants, sweatshirt, messy hair in bun or ponytail, no makeup, sneakers...

"You're shitting me, right? You don't want a makeover?" Alexx said, her voice full of disbelief.

"I mean, I guess that'd be okay, but it's not like I have anyone to impress here. I'm cutting the rest of the day. You can help me later with your whole "makeover" idea. Okay? This is the second to last day of school and I finished all of my finals, so it doesn't matter if I skip out on that stupid yearbook signing ceremony, since nobody will sign mine anyways," I explained and she nodded. Normally I wouldn't cut school at all, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

"I'll cut with you!" Alexx volunteered and linking arms with me, cheerily skipped to my car with me. A cheerful Alexx was extremely out of character, so I had no clue what to expect from this side of her.

"Don't you have your math final next period?" I ask her, raising an eyebrow.

"I have a B in that class, so I'll still pass even if I don't take the final," Alexx says noncholantly because unlike me, she could care less about her grades. I don't understand people like that. I would be tearing my hair out if I had a B, trying desperately to raise it to an A.

"Summer is 3 months long, so we have a long time to perfect you," Alexx states as we walk home.

"Don't I just need a haircut and maybe a new shirt?" I ask her.

"No! There's attitude (something you have none of), clothing (as in a whole wardrobe), and a bunch of other stuff!"

"Other?"

"Teaching you about hair, make-up, dieting. Not that you're fat! Actually I'm not sure if you are...can't tell under that sack you call clothing. What about some leather pants and a denim vest crop top?" she teased me. I hoped she was teasing me because I am not going to dress in those skimpy materials. They may work with Alexx's supermodel, stick build, but not with me. I'm thinking more like nice, breezy blouses and baggy, khaki capris, maybe a shirt with ruffles to cover up my chest.

Getting in the car, I think that this whole makeover thing is going to make me have the worst summer in the history of summers of any of human being who ever existed.
