RYAN'S POV

It was all sunshine and lollipops that day... Until she came. I thought that the day couldn't get any better, because Kayla kissed me. She freaking kissed me twice. I even thought that maybe she wanted to be my girlfriend. But stupid MacKenzie had to come.

"MacKenzie?!" I yelled when she arrived at the beach house. She didn't say anything, she just stood there and crossed her arms. I got my crutches and walked over to her.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"What I wanted when we were on the phone."

"MacKenzie, I already told you, I'm not getting back together with you." Her jaw tightened.

"I said I was sorry. The time that I kissed that other guy, it was the biggest mistake of my life. Ryan, you made me happy. You were the love of my life. Please take me back." MacKenzie took my hand and stared at me, her blue eyes wide. I shook her hand away.

"If you think that a little "I'm sorry" is going to make me forgive you, you better think again." MacKenzie looked like she was about to start crying.

"B-but-"

"Look, he doesn't want to be your boyfriend. Get over it." I turned my head and saw Kayla standing next to me. MacKenzie looked at her.

"And who do you think you are?" MacKenzie asked. Kayla smirked.

"Kayla, Ryan's girlfriend." Wait-what? What?! Did she just call herself my girlfriend?! She didn't hesitate or anything. She just said it. Kayla wrapped her arms around me and rested her head on my chest.

"We've been dating for a week." She continued. "I'm so lucky that I met him." I could not believe what was happening. MacKenzie looked furious.

"No! You're not his girlfriend! I'm supposed to be!"

"Yes I am!"

"No!"

"Yes and I can prove it!" Kayla took her hands from my waist hand put them on my neck and kissed me. I tried my best not to look surprised or shocked, but like this was something that we did regularly.

"Alright I get it!" MacKenzie yelled. Kayla pulled away slowly and looked back at MacKenzie. I felt myself blushing. A lot.

"Great. Now you can leave because you're not wanted here." Kayla said and pushed MacKenzie's shoulder softly.

"Excuse me?!" Kayla rolled her eyes.

"Ok, let me say it in a way that you might understand...You... Are... Not... Wanted... Here."

"Are you trying to call me dumb?!" MacKenzie shrieked.

"Well I'm not calling you Albert Einstein."

"Who?"

"Exactly." MacKenzie balled her fists and her face was red with fury.

"You'll regret not taking me back, Ryan." She said, stomped out of the house, and slammed the door shut.

"What just happened?" Jay asked after it was silent for a while.

"I-I don't know." I said, staring at the door. I turned and looked at everyone's faces. Greg, Jay and Zack's jaws were dropped and all the girls had big smiled on there faces, I had no idea why. Ashley jumped off of Jay's lap, grabbed Kayla by the wrist and pulled her upstairs. Lauren and Sam followed. I'm not even sure how I felt. Happy? Surprised? Shocked? I just stood there with my mouth open.

"Dude, are you ok?" Zack asked.

"No. Kayla and I kissed three times today and I'm not ok." I said sarcastically.

"Woah, wait a second. Three times?" Greg asked, wiggling his eyebrows.

"Um, yeah. I kissed her when we were upstairs together." There was no way that I was telling them that I didn't even kiss her first.

"Ooh!" Greg, Jay and Zack all said at the same time.

"You guys are like teenage girls." I said.

"You two are pretty much a couple now." Jay said. "I mean, seriously. Now all we need to do is get Zack and Sam together-"

"Can we not start this again?" Zack asked, clearly annoyed. Jay raised his hands like he was surrendering.

"You know what? I bet that the girls are talking about Kayla falling in love with you." Greg said. I rolled my eyes.

"No they're not."

"Fine. Go up there and listen." I tried to walk up the stairs as quietly as possible- and it wasn't easy with crutches. When I found out what room they were in, I put my ear to the door and listened. Ashley was talking.

"I can't believe that you just did that! You made the poor thing believe it!"

"Well I already told you, it seemed like a good idea at the time!" Kayla snapped back.

"But he really believes it!"

"Well you can't blame him. After all, I am an actress."

"I guess. But I'm pretty sure that Ryan thinks that you like him."

"Well I don't." When I heard those three words, my heart seemed to gain a million pounds in half a second. So she didn't like me. Not at all. The times that she kissed me, they didn't mean anything. She was just acting. I crept back downstairs.

"So?" Greg asked.

"It was fake. She was acting." I said. I sat on the couch.

"It's ok. There are lots of other girls out there. You'll-" Zack was cut off when we heard a scream from upstairs. We all ran to the room where the girls were, and I opened the door. Sam was hiding behind Ashley.

"What happened?" Zack asked.

"Sam got scared because she felt something brush against her leg." Ashley replied.

"It could've been a ghost!" Sam argued.

"It was a fly! And let's face it, Sam isn't going to get any sleep tonight at all."

"It's Lauren's fault!" Sam yelled and pointed at Lauren.

"Just sleep with the door closed and the lights on." Kayla said.

"No I'll still be scared." Sam whined like a baby.

"Fine use Zack as your teddy bear." Greg said and pushed Zack towards Sam.

"What?!" Sam and Zack yelled at the same time.

"No! He's not sleeping with- eek!" Sam screamed again.

"What now?" Ashley asked.

"Th-there's something under the bed!" Sam shrieked.

"Sam now you're just imagining things. Just let Zack sleep with you or you'll never get any sleep." Kayla said, crossing her arms. Sam hesitated.

"Fine." She mumbled and stomped out the room, grabbing Zack's hand on the way out.

"It's working!" Kayla said.

"You're welcome! And if we used my plan, it would've been working like, five hours ago." Greg said.

"Your plan was stupid." Kayla shot back.

"Wait, what plan?" I asked.

"Greg said that we should lock them in a closet." Kayla said. Greg rolled his eyes.

"Well at least now they're spending more time together." I said. Kayla nodded.

"Well it's pretty late. We should probably get to sleep. Ryan you can still sleep here." Kayla said. Everyone else left and Kayla closed the door after.

"Um, thanks for pretending to be my girlfriend." I said awkwardly.

"Oh, sure. No problem." She didn't look up. I felt so guilty when I saw her lie on the air mattress. It couldn't be comfortable at all.

"Here, I'll sleep on the air mattress."

"No, you're hurt. Sleep in the bed."

"Kayla, I've slept on the floor. I can handle sleeping on that."

"Ryan just sleep in the freaking bed."

"You sleep in the bed."

"No." I sighed and stood up. I grabbed Kayla and threw her on the bed. I was going to walk back to the air mattress, when she grabbed my wrist and pulled me back.

"Sleep. In. The. Bed." She said quietly.

"Only if you do." I wrapped my arm around her waist, so she couldn't move.

"Ryan!" She said.

"Goodnight to you too."
