"And you're sure your okay to do this?" Marius asked for the tenth time.

"Yes."

"You don't have to go if it's too much, Marius can step in."

"I'm fine Rosà," I pulled on my jacket before slipping on my boots. "You two need to stop worrying."

As I reached for my scarf I could feel their eyes on me, burning a hole into my back. I didn't blame them, not really, after all I knew if I was in their shoes I wouldn't be wanting me to go.

It had been a few days since I had drank Marius' blood and fallen asleep in his arms and now I had healed, the monster inside still hiding in the shadows, I felt more like myself for the first time in months.

Marius had been spending a lot of his time with me and Rosà and if he wasn't here trying to keep me in bed, he was out retrieving blood bags to keep our fridge stocked. Noah was most likely less than impressed and I couldn't stop the small pang of satisfaction that came with that small piece of knowledge.

"Let me come with you at least then."

Rosá's soft voice brought me from my dwindling thoughts and I blinked, looking up to find her shuffling closer.

"What about that date with your friend tonight?"

She dismissed my words with the flick of her wrist. "Oh that can wait, really it can, I'm sure he wouldn't mind all too much."

"Are you sure?" I raised an eyebrow and headed towards the front door. "Haven't you been really excited about seeing this lover boy of yours?"

Rosá blushed and I couldn't help but flash her a grin.

"He's not my lover boy, child." She pursed her lips. "He's just a very close friend of mine and we-"

"I will go with him."

We turned our attention to the vampire who hadn't said anything since we began talking. He was wearing that stony expression of his yet his eyes seemed to dance with an emotion that had his whole face lighting up.

No longer did he look like a blood thirsty killer... Well... Not really.

"Will you actually get him there? That's the question."

Now it was my turn to blush and I couldn't help but think back to the first attempt of going to interrogate the prisoner. We hadn't gotten far before Marius had snagged my hand and pulled me into a dark alleyway, hidden by the shadows as he then dropped to his knees and took me in his mouth.

That night all I could remember was it being filled of passionate touches and moan filled whispers, the woman Marius and Rosá had taken from that house long forgotten when Marius' lips found mine and I melted under his rough touch.

"Yes, I will get him there." I could hear the smile in his voice. "You can't blame a man for getting distracted..."

Rosá huffed and rolled her eyes. "Alright fine, as long as you actually get there, we cannot keep the human indefinitely." She came closer to brush her soft lips against my cheek. "Be careful okay? I'd like you to come back in one piece this time."

I sent her a reassuring smile before gesturing to Marius and then heading out the door and out into the sun.

We walked in silence until we had rounded the corner of the street and then Marius linked his fingers through mine and we soon fell into step. "The way she carries on, it's as if she is your mother."

"I'm glad she isn't," I let my gaze wander to the strangers that we passed, "She was rarely kind to me, only when it suited."

Marius squeezed my hand gently. "What happened?"

I thought back to my human years, to when I was growing up. One memory in particular stood out and I couldn't help but relive it, cringing as I did so.

My mum was humming softly to herself as she combed out her long, dark mane. She was sat by the beautiful white dresser she owned, I remember because the scent of lilac filled my nose and she always kept her perfume on there along with a fresh vase of flowers.

I had been fourteen when it happened, when I knew what I was. I had opened up and told my best friend at the time, them being them had told me that I needed to tell my parents, that it would be better in the long run.

Oh how wrong they had been...

"Mum."

Her gaze flickered from her hair to me in the mirror. "Yes?"

I shifted on the spot by the door, fiddling with my fingers. "There's something I-I need to tell you."

"You know you can tell me anything."

I watched as she went back to combing her hair, the rising fear having my throat closing up. With stiff limbs, I headed deeper into the room and sat on the edge of the bed, hands in my lap as I picked at the skin beside my nails.

"I uhmm, I've been wanting to tell you this for some time now but I didn't know how to bring it up."

I could feel her gaze rest on me before she set her brush down. "What is it Payton?"

Feeling like I was standing on the edge of a cliff, I whispered softly. "I think I'm gay."

"What?"

Clearing my throat, I forced myself to meet her fiery gaze. "I mean, I know that I'm gay." She opened her mouth to speak yet I was so nervous that I began to babble, talking over her in a haste to make her understand better. "I wanted to tell you sooner but I was scared that you would freak out and-"

"My son... Likes boys."

Instantly, I could hear the disgust in her voice and tears welled up in my eyes. "It's nothing bad, you said yourself that I could tell you anything, you still love-"

"Do you have any idea what this will do to my reputation if anyone finds out about your sick delusions?" She hissed through clenched teeth and rose from her seat with grace. "Our family will be the laughing stock of the village!"

I bit my lower lip and looked down, staring at her red painted toe nails.

"How could you," She went towards the door and shoved it open, "How could you do this to me!"

"I didn't choose to be gay mum, if it made you feel better I would change the way I was but I can't," I headed towards her, seeking her comforting touch yet all I got was the cold shoulder. "Mum..."

"Get out."

Her voice turned as hard as granite, her expression set into one of annoyance and pure rage. Thinking back to that time, I should have held my head high and ignored her petty tempter tantrum, I should have realized that she never really cared about me, just the family's status in society.

I couldn't help being born into a time where being anything other than straight was frown upon. I had been a foolish boy to have thought that my mother, the most respected woman around would have opened her arms and ushered me in with a soft kiss on the cheek and a 'everything's going to be okay' whisper.

Instead of holding my own, I numbly got up from my spot on the bed and sniffled back a sob. "Mum please forgive me."

For a long moment we did nothing but stare at each other, the old grandfather clock ticking steadily in the hallway reaching our ears. She had began to cry silently though I wasn't sure whether it was because she was ashamed or disgusted.

Despite her harsh words, I couldn't help but reach for her, wanting to brush her tears away and to tell her that she didn't have to worry about anything; that I wasn't about tell another soul about my sexual preference.

However, when I did reach for her, she shrunk back as if I was on fire. "Don't touch me," She practically growled. "Don't you dare touch me, I do not wish to catch your disease!"

I blanched at her words then and for the first time in a year, I felt the need to go find my razor blade. Taking a shaky, reassuring breath, I swallowed back another plea and then headed past her, the scent of her perfume wafting over me yet it did little to quench the pain in my chest.

That day I stayed locked in my room, the sound of my mother's disappointed sobs drowned out by my own woeful cries.

Snapping from the horrid memory, I forced myself to swallow and then let out a noise as I turned to find Marius staring at me. His hair looked magnificent in the sunlight and it appeared that we had stopped walking and the sensation of being sun burnt sprang to my attention.

I quickly led Marius to a dark walkway that led to a large, mansion like building. In the shadows now, I breathed a small sigh of relief before I felt Marius' hands on my face, bringing my gaze to his.

"Don't think about her anymore," His deep voice sent a shiver down my spine, "Don't think about what used to be, I don't like to see that expression on your face."

"What expression?"

Marius watched me with an intense look before he lent down and brushed his lips against mine. "Like you're five years old and someone just ran over the puppy you got for Christmas... It makes my heart ache and I can't help but want to find whoever caused you pain and end them."

My cheeks burned.

"It's alright, it was a long time a go and I... I'm over it."

He shot me a doubtful look before I wrapped my arms around him and dragged him closer. Making a noise of approval, his hands began to wander from my face to my chest and then they lingered at the waistband of my jeans.

My breathing hitched and though desire stirred within the pit of my stomach, I couldn't help but recall Rosá's parting words.

"We should get to the cells," I whispered, "Rosá was right about not being able to keep her forever."

I felt his lips brush against the vein in my neck and I shivered with anticipation.

"Can't we just spend the day together?" He purred seductively. "I'd love to come inside that tight, sexy ass of yours."

My eyes fluttered closed and I relaxed under his touch, enjoying the promise in his words. My hips flexed against him on their own accord, and his moan of lust brought me back from the gutter of my thoughts.

"Marius," I slid my hand to rest on his chest. "As tempting as that is, I want to do this... If whoever is trying to kill you, I need to try and get to the bottom of it." I nuzzled against his stubble covered cheek, "I'd hate to lose you."

"You won't lose me." He pressed himself against my body as if to emphasis his point. "I'm not going anywhere, when are you going to realize that?"

I pushed back my negative thoughts and then shot him a small smile. "I better get going..."

"Why not just go tomorrow?"

The boyish pout on his lips had me fighting back the urge to giggle. "No, no, no, I'm doing it now."

Reluctantly, he pulled away after giving me a firm kiss on the lips and then shoved his hands into his pockets. "Alright," His gaze wandered to the building at the end of the street, "Come find me once you're done, we'll need to go speak to the Mayor."

"Yes Sir," I pushed off the wall and lent up to kiss his jaw. "I'll see you later."

Marius flashed a smile before he ruffled my hair and then turned on his heels and headed back down the path and out into the sunlight. For a moment I did nothing but stare after him, admiring the way his jeans hugged his perfect ass before he disappeared and the small smile on my lips died.

With a reassuring breath, I turned towards the building that loomed in the distance as a trickle of fear ran down my spine before I shoved my haunting memories away and headed forward with determination in my stride.

It didn't take long to make my way through the abandoned building, the scent of stale blood reaching my nose every now and again. I paused when I reached the heavy steel trapped door which covered a set of stairs.

Trepidation stirred within the pit of my stomach and it had me wanting to vomit. With trembling hands, I forced myself to reach down and swing open the door. It was eerily quiet below and part of me wondered if there was actually anyone below.

Bracing myself, I then made my way down the familiar stone steps to the cells in silence. A wolf I didn't recognize was waiting for me and though his jaw tensed when he laid eyes on me, he made no comment and led me down the hallway. My thoughts were going a mile a minute yet I pushed down the rising fear as I then walked past the cell I had been imprisoned in and was directed into the room of pain.

It didn't look as horrid as I remembered now though, there was a carpet covering the cold, hard tiles and in the middle of the room was a table with a chair on either side. They have made this hell hole an interrogation room, how ironic, my subconscious almost growled, if only they would have done this sooner instead of after I had encountered this ghastly place.

Quietly, I shut the door behind me with a soft click before going to sit down. A woman I had never seen before was sitting opposite me, her eyes shining with hatred as she tugged at the handcuffs bounding her to the chair.

She had dark straight hair that looked like it had been caked with dirt, blood and a lot of other items. How long has she been down here? I mused for a moment before the rattle of chains snapped me back to reality.

"I assume you know why I'm here."

Her eyes narrowed into slits. "Go to hell you bloodsucker."

Ignoring her insult I reached into my jacket and produced a file before sliding it along the table and watching as her gaze fell onto it. Opening it up, I showed her an array of crime scene photos, trying hard not to linger on the bloodiest ones. "Do you know who did this?"

"No."

"We have evidence to suggest that you do, especially since you were staying in the killer's home. So who is he?"

Her jaw twitched, "I'm not going to tell you a damn thing so just kill me already."

I shook my head and turned the page, watching as the corners of her mouth tilted up ever so slightly. In front of her was a picture of the blood bags which had been laced with wolf toxins, the box which it had come in was sitting beside it.

"Do you know anything about this?"

For a long moment she said nothing and stared, satisfaction flickering across her face before she went back to glaring. "Nope, nothing at all."

A slither of irritation ran up my spine and I found myself growling low in my throat, "Do you think this is funny?" I lent forward, clutching in the edge of the table as if it would somehow ground me. "Was it you who tried to kill me or that prick you're living with?"

I could smell the fear rolling off the beautiful brunette in waves yet she hid it well. "We'll kill you all, so don't take it personally."

"And why would a human want to kill us? Isn't that a little too dangerous for someone like you?"

As if I had suddenly woken up a beast, her eyes flashed and she lent forward, standing up so fast that the chair hit the ground with a soft thud. "Someone like me would kill you for free, would chop off your head and roast it for supper!" She hissed through clenched teeth. "You have no idea what you and your pathetic friends are up against."

"Why don't you enlighten me then?"

Intrigued by her words, I made her look at me, made her gaze meet my own yet even as I tried to compel her as I softly spoke, she merely blinked and looked away, somewhat dazed yet not affected. How odd, I thought briefly.

"N-No," She cleared her throat, "Go fuck yourself vampire, whilst you still can."

Another spike of irritation hit me and I had to count to ten before I was able to speak once more. "Can you tell me about this?" I held up my phone to show her a picture. "Does Clark Davidson have anything to do with you?"

The look on her face was murderous, the chains that were restraining her clanked noisily as she tugged at them. There was no doubt in my mind that if she was free, she would have gorged my eyes out with her bare hands.

I'll take that as a yes, I thought with narrow eyes as she spat in my face. "Don't you dare speak his name, you have no right!"

I could hear her heart hammering away in her chest, to practically see the vein in her neck thumping enticingly as she continued to shout and curse at me. I felt my tongue drag along my teeth and the familiar ache in my throat brought me from my dark thoughts.

Reaching out, I suddenly grabbed her wrists and slammed them into the table, stilling her, "Tell me what you know before I drain you dry!" I snarled, the monster inside finally making an appearance. "Maybe I should send your friend your body parts..."

The woman flexed her muscles, the ink on her arms snagging my attention briefly. Where had I seen those markings before? I slowly raised an eyebrow before letting my gaze rest on her shivering form yet again.

"Tell me what you know, human."

She must have sensed that something wasn't right and she watched me with a fearful expression etched onto her face. No longer was she glared but instead, shrinking back though her attempts were futile, she was no match for my strength.

Ever so quietly, she whispered. "What do you want to know?"

"Who is Clarke Davidson?"

The corner of her mouth twitched. "I will not speak ill of the dead."

"Then who was he?"

"He was a great man who had a very gentle soul." A sad expression flickered across her face before she looked up at me, a look of hatred meeting my steady gaze. "That was until he was drained dry, then my brother was never the same again!"

Brother, ay?

"Why did you send me that box of poisonous blood? I can assure you that I didn't kill your boyfriend."

She yanked at her chains. "You fool! He was not my boyfriend, he was my brother in law!"

For a long moment I did nothing but watch the fidgeting human, enjoying the way her pulse accelerated with each flex of my fingers around her wrists. Oh what I could do with her chained and helpless...

Feed from her, the monster whispered, feed and feel alive, she deserves it.

"Let me go."

The woman's voice snapped me from my thoughts again and I let out a growl of irritation. "Who are you?"

"I am the last person you shall see before you die!"

My hands tightened till she gasped in pain. With deliberate slowness, I dragged her closer, causing her to be bend over the table, inches from my face. "Who are you?"

I could feel the warmth from her skin and I resisted the urge to sink my fangs into her vanilla flesh.

"I am a tracker."

"And your brother?"

She narrowed her eyes and I squeezed a little harder.

"A hunter!" She gritted her teeth. "He's a hunter!"

With a sly grin, I let her go and she pulled back, stumbling as she did so. She cradled her bruising arm close to her chest and shot me a look of menace. "You'll pay for this. You all will."

"So you keep saying."

Reaching out towards her, I watched as she cringed and a small, sickening part of me couldn't help but be amused at her fear. The monster inside was awake and prowling, ready to feed yet I pushed it down and grabbed the file before putting it back into my jacket.

I stood and slowly made my way towards the door, reeling at the information I had just obtained. The woman was pacing, the chains clinking as she moved yet it wasn't that which had me pausing, no, it was her snarl of anger that halted me.

"It's a shame you didn't die when you drank that blood Payton."

My hand gripped the door handle with more force than necessary. "Excuse me?"

"You heard!" She spat in my direction. "Oh how we enjoyed hearing you scream for your so called-"

In a flash, I was in front of her, pinning her up against the stone wall as my hand wrapped around her throat. She thrashed under my hold, eyes ablaze as fear began to set in. I could hear her pulse hammering, her blood almost calling to me.

"What have you got against me? I don't even know you."

She reached up to claw at my hands though the chains seemed to get in her way. "I-It's Marius we are after, h-he is the one we want to cause pain to."

"And why is that?"

"Screw you!"

The huntress suddenly gasped for air, her face beginning to turn pinker by the second yet I didn't let up. Instead, I flashed my fangs and ignored her strangled complaint, pressing my body flush against her as I then dragged my nose up the length of her neck.

"Mmm, you smell delicious..."

I could feel my mouth salivating and I couldn't help but think back to the last time I had had a live, human meal. Surely one little bite wouldn't hurt, I ran my tongue over my aching gums once again before I brushed my lips against her vein.

From afar, anyone would assume we were locked in a lovers embrace, whispering words of seduction against her tanned, sweet scented skin however, they would have been so wrong. The only thing I wanted to do with the woman before me was to drain her dry and hear her heart beat fade into silence.

"L-Let me go," Her eyes began to roll back into her head, "I have answered all you have a-asked."

I squeezed tighter until I heard her let out a strangled noise before I reluctantly stepped back and watched her drop to the floor like a bag of coal. She coughed and spluttered, holding her neck yet I could already see the purple bruises forming on her skin.

The monster inside clawed inside me, desperate to take over, to consume her life source yet I shook my head and staggered back. Rushing to the door, I opened it with more force than necessary before striding down the hall towards the exit.

"Have you finished with her?"

I didn't even pause when the wolf grunted at me, already heading towards the room she was in. "For now." I muttered and I made sure to ignore his mixed expression of disgust and mild curiosity as I then headed up the steps, taking two at a time before burst through the trap door, panting.

For a long moment I did nothing but take in lungfuls of night air, my body bent with my hands on my knees as I did so. I squeezed my eyes shut and willed the horrid images to leave my head, I didn't want to go backwards, I didn't want to give into the monster who purred at me with red glowing eyes.

After a good five minutes of calm breathing, I finally felt like I was able to start heading back to the place I called home. It was quiet on the way back, yet I instantly felt like I was being watched when I stepped out of the shadowy pathway and back onto the main street.

I had just walked past the town square when the scent of someone familiar reached my nose. I swallowed back a growl and shoved my hands into my pockets before picking up my pace, I had no intention of talking to that asshole, not after what he done.

How could he have accused me of such things? After all I had done to defend and be nice to him. A soft heart is the first to get broken, my subconsciousness glowered and I couldn't help but agree. Just thinking about that night had pain and rage course through my veins.

An owl suddenly hooting brought me back from my thoughts and I found myself in front of the house, the sound of my name being called ringing in my ears. Ignoring whoever was shouting me, I pushed my way into the house and slammed the door shut with my foot.

I lent back against the door for a moment, composing myself yet when I opened my eyes again I was greeted with Rosá. She was sat on the sofa, lipstick and mirror in hand yet she paused getting ready to shoot me a look of mild concern.

"Everything okay?"

"Y-Yes." I toed off my boots and started to unzip my jacket when Rosá tutted.

"Hiding from the wolf I take it?"

I couldn't help but frown.

"He was here earlier, asking about you." She sent me a small smirk. "Marius told him where to stick his apology, jealously really doesn't suit that creature..."

"Is he here?"

She shook her head and went back to painting her lips a dark red. "He never came back, I assume he was with you."

I couldn't help but think about where else he would be right now. The fridge was stocked, he would have came back and told Rosá if he was on patrol so the only other option was that he was with him, I swallowed back a growl and watched as Rosá tried to hide her smile.

Shrugging out of my jacket, I threw it onto the nearby chair and then headed over to her, plonking down beside her, I fingered her make up products. "What's so funny?"

"Oh, nothing," She dabbed her lips with a paper towel. "Jealous just doesn't suit you very well either."

A pout came onto my face and I watched her lean closer to the mirror before apply a little more lipstick the shade of blood. I resisted the urge to lick my lips at the thought and turned my attention to the bottle of mascara I was fiddling with.

"Do you think-"

"No, whatever paranoid thing you're about to suggest, I don't believe it." Rosá set down the stick and brushed off her hands. "Marius is smitten with you and I can only assume you two are official now, yes?"

Almost shy like, I nodded.

"Then you have nothing to worry about."

With delicate fingers Rosá reached out and plucked the black bottle from my grasp before shaking it. I watched, almost transfixed, as she applied the rest of her make up and a little while later, finally announced that she was ready for her date.

I sat back and grabbed the blood bag I had taken from the fridge. "So, who is this friend? You never did say."

"He's a lovely man, someone I have known for centuries." She smiled at the thought and I noticed the way color came to her cheeks. "He was the first vampire I had met when I was turned... What a handsome fellow he was back then, I'm sure time has aged him well."

I drank the blood slowly, savoring the taste despite it's lack of warmth. "Do you like him?"

"Of course I do."

"Do you want to bang him Rosá?"

For a moment she looked confused and then understanding flickered onto her face along with a scarlet blush. "You know you shouldn't be asking a lady such a thing! But... Yes, I do find him very attractive."

I smiled and licked my lips. "Hence the outfit?"

Our gaze flickered to what she was wearing and I had to admit, she looked beautiful. What her attire consisted of was a black floral dress with pretty little white flowers on it, accompanied by kitten heels and her hair cascaded down her shoulders in loose dark waves.

"Is there something wrong with my outfit?"

Her concerned voice snapped me to the present and I flashed her a reassuring wink. "No, there is definitely nothing wrong with it," I set the now empty bag down and sat back in the chair. "You look smoking hot."

Rosá playfully slapped my leg and though I tried not to, I couldn't help but tense up. She didn't seem to notice though and it wasn't until she had finished packing away her stuff did she finally ask me the question she had been dying to know since I got in.

"So what happened with that woman?"

I ran a hand through my hair and glanced towards the window. The moon was hanging high in the sky and though I knew I had hours before I needed to surrender to sleep, I couldn't help but miss Marius as the minutes passed.

"She's the killer's brother, said the person whose grave I found was her brother in law's."

"Really?"

I stifled a yawn. "Mhmm, apparently she's a tracker, whatever that is."

"Oh dear..."

"What?"

"Trackers are serious especially in a case like this, you haven't told Marius yet have you?"

Frowning, I shook my head. "Why?"

"Don't, because he will want to go find her and kill her. Though we are creatures of few real threats, trackers are however, one of the few."

That surprised me and for a moment I could do nothing but stare at the vampire before me with bewilderment. When I finally composed myself enough to speak again, a loud knock at the door brought us from our conversation.

"Will you be back when the Mayor arrives?"

Rosá grabbed her purse, "I will en devour to be but if not, you'll have to fill me in."

Nodding, I got up and followed her to the door, her perfume bringing back memories from my former life. She opened the door and standing on the porch was a God. He had a beard that had been trimmed back and eyes that seemed to light up when they fell onto the lovely Miss Belmont.

"Andrew!" Rosá exclaimed and threw her arms around him. "What a pleasure it is to see you after all this time."

"Hello to you too little lady."

His deep, Texas accent sent a shiver down my spine and for a moment I did nothing but watch the two interact. In his arms, Rosá looked so small, so child like and yet so happy. Did I look like that when I was with Marius? It would certainly explain Rosá's sly grins every time he was around me...

"...Is Payton."

The hunk of a man stepped forward to shake my hand, bringing me from my dwindling thoughts with a start. "It's nice to meet you, I can assume you have been keeping Rosá here, safe?"

I shrugged but sent him a small smile. "I try."

"There is no need to get protective you fool, Payton here has a mate."

At that, the man broke out into a dazzling smile that hurt my eyes to look at. "Oh really? I apologize for my hostility then." He glanced into the house. "Where is she? May I meet her?"

"He."

He frowned. "What?"

Clearing my throat, I fought back the urge to blush. "My.. uh, mate, he's not around right now."

"Oh," He shrugged, "Another time perhaps."

Rosá was grinning ear to ear and practically bouncing on the spot now. "Come along, let's go before the night is over." She tugged gently at his arm and his expression softened when he glanced over at her. "We have much to discuss."

"Yes my dear, I'm coming."

He tipped his large cowboy hat to me before he turned on his heels and I watched the pair descend into the darkness, their whispering words lost to the wind before I went back inside and headed into the kitchen.

For the first time in a while, I felt something niggling away at me, like my subconscious knew something I didn't. Pulling my phone out of my jeans, I quickly sent Marius a text.

Where r you? 00:35am

I got myself another blood bag and rubbed it between my hands, warming it slightly. With a small sigh, I listened to the house creek and whine as I then headed towards the sofa and slumped down, biting into the bag with a satisfied noise.

I drank slowly and had gotten half way when my phone vibrated against my leg. With a small little grin, I paused my feeding to open up the message.

Out... dealing with business. What did the human say? 00:41am

I couldn't help but think back to Rosá's earlier warning and decided to settle with being brief for the time being.

Will tell you when you get home. Do you want a bath when you come in? I have the house 2 myself right now. 00:42am

I don't know when I will be back, someone is being difficult. You still haven't answered my question, little vamp. 01:00am

A chuckle left me and I rolled my eyes at his little pet name. No longer did it fill me with annoyance but instead, I couldn't help but feel special whenever he referred me as it. At least I know he's in a somewhat good mood, I thought idly.

I finished the rest of my blood bag and put it into the trash can when I finally picked up my phone again and replied a brief response.

Someone? Anyone I know? 01:10am

He instantly replied. Don't worry about anything, I will see you soon. 01:11am

I couldn't help but glare at the screen. He was with him wasn't he? My subconcious growled and shook his head, of course that's who he was with. A small pang of disappointment bloomed in my chest.

Will you be here when the Mayor arrives? 01:15am

Yes. 01:16am

With a heavy sigh, I set my phone down onto the coffee table and rolled onto my side, facing the sofa as I listened to the wild life outside. I was tired, sexually frustrated and wound up from the huntress' earlier threats. With my boyfriend being away and spending time with Noah, it didn't do anything but dampen my already sour mood.

Forcing myself to swallow, I told myself that I could trust Marius before closing my eyes and willed sleep to take me.
