Cornelia's POV
Tori and I had been waiting in the restaurant since fifteen minutes ago. The guys sure were slow.
Actually, they were not really slow because we came in time, very very in time. The date was supposedly start at seven but we came at six thirty. Tori was really nervous so she asked me to came early.
Glasshouse was a fancy and elegant restaurant, so we dressed properly. Tori wore a long blood red dress. It wrapped her nicely. With her dark black wavy hair, the dress and herself made a perfect combination. She looked absolutely stunning. Besides that, I wore a black dress that only reach my knee. The dress showed my bare back, but I let my hair down so it covered a little. The dress fitted my body perfectly and showed my curves. I had to admit it myself that both of us looked very gorgeous.
I felt an arm snaked around my waist. I felt the sparks immediately. My body reacted like this only for one person.
"Hey." The owner of the arm said in husky voice beside my ear. I looked up only to met his handsome face. He looked devilishly handsome. I didn't know if I could resist him or not.
He wore a black shirt and he rolled the sleeves until his elbow. The color of his shirt matched with my black dress. It was just coincidence. I guess we had quite similar taste.
Meanwhile, I could see Alex was staring at Tori. Yepp, even from his eyes, I could see that he was attracted to Tori. Maybe he never seen her in dress. As I could remember, our date had never been so fancy, it usually just a normal date in the mall or cafe. Never in fancy and elegant restaurant. I thought it was new for him to saw Tori dressed in those dangerous red dress.
"You look beautiful." Colton's whisper sent shivers down to my spine. I turned around and hit him playfully on his firm chest.
"What the.. Why did you hit me?" I shrugged and grinned to him.
We sat like our usual formation. Colton sat next to me and Alex sat next to Tori. Noticing the distance between them, I used this as my chance.
"Alex, is there something wrong between you two? You seem so distant. You didn't even give Tori a kiss like you always did." I acted like I didn't know a thing about their fake deal.
He just gave me a nervous smile, "Nothing is wrong with us. I just stunned and speechless because of the way she dressed. I even forget to kiss her." He pecked Tori's lips, "You look stunning, Tori." I could see his sincere and loving gaze for Tori. Tori was blushing and it was rare to see her blushing.
Hah! This boy sure knew how to made an allibi. Unbelievable!
"Shall we order the food?" Alex tried to change the subject.
"We shall." I said while calling the waitress.
We ordered the food and not too long, the food was already served in frobt of us. We ate in silence. Actually not we, but the couple in front of me.
Colton and I were talking like we alwayd did. We talked about the food, flirting, and we even shared our food. Correction, he stole my cupcake. It was a childish side of him. He wanted to taste the black forest cupcake, but he didn't want to order it by himself. So he snatched what was mine. I couldn't help but argue with him. See? We even argued about all of useless things.
Sighed..
The couple in front of me ate in silence. Maybe even Colton could sense that something went wrong. They were so different than before, our previous double date before. They were the type of couple who were talkative, acted sweet and all did lovey dovey things. But now, they were like a completely stranger. They were not even in the mood of eating.
I was sure, very sure, that both of them were in love with one another. I knew about Tori but I didn't know about Alex. I just could guess from his current state. He was as desparate as my friend.
I needed to ended this mission soon. I couldn't stand them being like this. It was just completely wrong.
As soon as I finished my dinner, I wiped my mouth with the napkin.
"Umm.. Colton, I want to show you something. Let's go outside, shall we?"
"Eh? What do you want to show me?" Argh.. I was this nervous, and he couldn't go woth my plan. I tried to be a good actress but I couldn't find a good way to act. I was nervous because I was afraid if Alex found this out.
Too desparate to handle my date, I stompped his foot. Which caused him to yelped.
"Umm.. It's suprised! Just follow me, okay?" I shot him my threatening glare.
"Uh.. Okay." He just agreed, noticing my glare.
"You two are fine right if I leave you two alone?" I asked them, especially Alex because my eyes were on Alex.
"Hah? Oh, yeah. Perfectly fine." Alex replied.
"Great. It won't take long. I promise." I winked at Tori and it seemed that she knew that I gave her space to speak with Alex.
I grabbed Colton's hand and dragged him with me.
"Where are we going?" He asked me.
"Hide." I simply said. I dragged him to a corner where we could hide. It was a perfect place to hide because there was a big decoration like a shield that could hide us. Plus, I could spy on them from here.
"Hide? From who?"
"Shh.." I shush him. "Do you notice their change? Their awkward aura? I'm just trying to give them their space. I can't stand them like that. It's just weird."
"Yeah I notice that too. They are so silent tonight. I don't know that I have a cupid as my girlfriend." I slapped him on his arm.
"Remember, we are still fake. I haven't let you to become my boyfriend. You are still my fake boyfriend."
"Yeah, yeah." He rolled his eyes and I noticed that which made him received another slapped on his arm.
"How are you doing?" Hearing Alex's voice, I immediately narrowed my eyes to our table.
"You are asking me how am I doing?" I could hear that Tori was ready to explode. Her voice was shaking. Alex didn't answer Tori, he kept silent.
"Do you know how I feel? Do you even care for my feeling when you end everything? Are you even consider my feeling?" She sobbed. But Alex still stay silent, he didn't answer all her questions.
"You are a bastard you know. You started everything and you ended everything without considering my feeling!" She started to hit Alex while still sobbing.
Alex grabbed her hand, "What feeling are you talking about? We have a deal right? We can't developt feeling for each other."
"Deal? What deal?" Colton asked from behind me.
"Your best friend played as a match maker along with my best friend. They had a fake deal like us." I explained to him.
"Wow." Taht was all I heard from Colton. He didn't expect this.
"You jerk! It's your fault! It's you who make me developt feeling for you! You are kind and sweet, I can't help but fall for you." Tori cried but still hitting him. Alex didn't bother the hit he received, he let her hitted him.
He run his hands on his hair, "Then why don't you say it before? Everything will not turn up like this." Alex said in a low voice I could barely hear.
"It's my fault now? It's my fault for not confessing?"
"No, it's not like that. If I know your feeling, I will not end everything. In fact, I would start everything in real."
"Wha-what do you mean?"
"If making you fall for me is my fault, then you are at fault too."
"What?"
"You make me fall for you too. I ended everything because I don't want to screw up my own rule. And I thought my feeling is just one sided. You always are the cool type, you have never showed your affection. What should I do? You gave me no signal!"
This time, my best friend stayed in silent.
"Can we start everything rather tahn end everything?" Alex asked calmly. He held my best friend's hand.
"I love you, Victoria." She cried even louder. She didn't stop sobbing. Tears were running down her cheeks.
"Shh.. Don't cry. Don't cry. Please don't cry." He wiped her tears.
"I love you too, Alexander." She cried on her now boyfriend's shoulder.
Final mission - complete!
"I guess it's our cue to take our leave now." I said to Colton.
"Leave? Then why are we dressed like this? All of my efforts are useless." Colton sighed.
"Efforts? I don't see nay efforts here." I teased him.
"I'm hurt." He put his hand on his heart. Hah!
"Don't be hurt. You impressed me tonight." I kissed him on his cheek.
"Aw.. Same goes for you. You look absolutely beautiful, gorgeous, stunning, and breath taking." He leaned in. I knew he was going to kiss me.
"Na-ah. No kissing. You are still my fake boyfriend." I put my finger on his lips.
He sighed, "I hope our relationship is as easy as theirs" I just smiled a little. I felt a bit of bitterness. I knew I was healous of them. I just hoped for the same thing like Colton.
"Let's go." I grabbed his hand.
"Wait! We have to pay first." Colton stopped me. Ah, I forgot. I was just too happy for my best friend. She deserved to be happy. They deserved to be happy.
